Always a bridesmaid and never a bride... what? lol. she would have given whitney a run for it if not for SDV's. and shes gonna sell around 160K her first full week, which is great for a wal mart exclusive EP. Taylor only sold like 45k her first week with her EP(and it was a full week) and shes just as big if not bigger then Miley. So i'd say these sales are pretty good. 60K is a lot in SDV's, i'd be bummed too if I was her

from her blog:
A little sad. Posted on Sep 03, 2009 I'm a little sad today. Somehow my E.P. got put out on the shelf with the my clothing line 3 days earlier than the release date. So on Monday (the day it was supposed to come out) the numbers got turned into Billboard. Kind of a bummer because if someone WAS gonna buy a copy of the record it would've been on Monday. =[ I am so blessed to even be on the charts and I dont want to come off ungrateful but I believe this E.P. had more potential. But Doo Da Doo its all good! Everything happens for a reason =]
I CANT WAIT TO MAKE MY NEXT ALBUM! I MAKE EVERY RECORD FOR YOU GUYS! YALL ARE THE BEST FANS IN THE WORLD! I LOVE YOU SOOO MUCH! KNOWING THAT THESE SONGS ON "TIME OF OUR LIVES" ARE INSPIRING SOME OF YOU GUYS MAKES ME FEEL SOOO MUCH BETTER ABOUT THIS WEEK! XOXO

I found this review for the Last song Book, its making me really excited for the movie. Ronnie seems really different then what Miley's done before. anovelmenagerie.com/2009/09/02/book-review-giveaway-the-last-song-by-nicholas-sparks/The Story Ronnie’s father, Steve, has been divorced from her mother for over three years. While Ronnie and her younger brother, Jonah, live in New York with their mother, Steve lives in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. Although it is the last place on earth that she wants to be, Ronnie is forced to spend a summer with Jonah at her dad’s beach-side home. Steve is a professional pianist who once taught at Julliard. Since his family was separated, his daughter Ronnie has refused to play the piano to spite her dad. Ronnie is outwardly unhappy about Steve’s home, the piano situated within it, and the full 3 months of visiting that she is facing. For Ronnie, it seems like more of a jail sentence than a summer with her family. With little respect for authority or her father’s rules, Ronnie takes off the moment she arrives at his home. She heads straight down to the boardwalk/pier area where a carnival happens to be in town. Trying to avoid her father and Jonah at the carnival, 17-year old Ronnie heads over to watch a nearby volleyball game. As she casts preconceived ideas into her mind about the crowd and the people of the community, she is suddenly hit by a volleyball player who was in pursuit of the ball. The result of their collision was Ronnie being drenched by her soda. Shortly thereafter, Ronnie meets Blaze, another wayward teenager who helps her out by giving her a dry shirt. The two teens make a connection out of their mutual parent-hating, society-rebelling mind-sets. Blaze introduces Ronnie to her friends, none of which would be “parent-approved.” The worst of the bunch is Marcus, a troublemaker who earns money at the pier and the carnival by tossing fireballs in a show. Marcus & his gang invite Blaze and Ronnie out to Bower’s Point to drink and hang out. Later that night when Will overheard Ronnie’s father talking to Officer Pete about his daughter’s whereabouts, a concerned Will told Pete about the kids being at Bower’s Point. You see, for Will there was something special about that girl, the one with the rebellious streak and the purple stripe in her hair, that he couldn’t let go of… something in her eyes. He was officially intrigued. After the complete and total humiliation of being hauled off Bower’s Point and breaking up the party, Ronnie is brought home by Officer Pete. Considering how badly the first night in Wrightsville Beach was, how would she be able to tolerate the rest of the summer… tormented by her father’s rules, annoyed by an wealthy society where she obviously didn’t fit in, and trying to navigate her way through her friendship with Blaze despite the fact she didn’t approve of Blaze’s friends, especially Marcus. Unexpectedly, Ronnie does discovers a nest of sea turtle eggs in the beach behind her father’s home. It was this nest that led her back to Will, who volunteers at the local aquarium in addition to his volleyball playing days. What she finds in Will is a friend of the truest kind. One that will lead you to being the best person that you can be. The Review This novel delivers several stories that tie to one another nicely. It somewhat reminds me of his novel A Walk To Remember, an all-time favorite of mine. This book has the story of Ronnie coming of age, discovering her true self, and falling in love for the first time. This book also has the story of a family that finds a way to heal, forgive one another, and band together in the face of adversity. Like most of Nicholas Sparks other books, it exudes the warmth and compassion that this reader loves! He also writes in a Christian thread into this story, which I appreciated and enjoyed. A prevalent dynamic in the book was the relationship between father and daughter. Even though I was once a teenager, as a parent it surprises me to see how kids nowadays view their parents. They are so quick to come to conclusions. In this story, Ronnie formed opinions of her dad that were solely based on her assumptions. She blamed him for so much that was wrong with the divorce and within their family life. She put up a wall in between them. Although Steve wasn’t the perfect father, he was a good, loving and patient one. Like all parents, there was room for improvement, however he did have the ability to see the bigger picture where his daughter was concerned. Steve held the wisdom to exhibit patience and allow Ronnie to discover the truth on her own. His approach to parenting his nearly 18-year-old daughter with problems, paid off the right dividends because it brought them closer together. The Movie Now… for the interesting news… Nicholas Sparks actually wrote this book after writing the screenplay for this movie. Yes, it’s normally the other way around! He wrote it in the same type of spirit as A Walk To Remember as that is what Miley Cyrus had expressed that was the type of movie she wanted to star in (or… something along those lines…). Miley Cyrus even picked out the name Ronnie for the heroine of this story. I have to admit that I knew absolutely none of this when I started reading the book. It wasn’t until I was doing my “review research” that I ran into these facts. I’m not sure that I would have cast Miley Cyrus for this role. Ronnie has more of an edge than I picture Miley portraying. But, you never know. With Adam Shankman at the director’s chair, he just may pull it right on out of her. I’ll try to have an open mind. Like many other of Nicholas Sparks’ books, I do think this would make a great movie and look forward to seeing it next year.

I just read and finished "The Last Song", Miley better be good at piano, shes playing a character good enough to play at Charnige Hall at age 12 & have Julliard begging for her.
I can tell exactly where she'll sing When I Look at You in the movie

SOUNDSCAN (WEEK ENDING 9/6/09)
1) Whitney Houston – I Look To You – 304,801 2) Miley Cyrus – Time Of Our Live EP – 153,147 (After 2 weeks – 215,484)
Wal-Mart early sales of Miley's EP the previous week did NOT affect where Miley would have landed on the BB200 chart if it was released on the correct date. Also, Miley still wouldn't have outsold Whitney according to these Soundscan sales numbers. Whitney outsold Miley by 89,317.

even less, the lasted numbers I saw were that it was 240K. Miley's going to pass that in a week or two. She beat the last 2 opening week sales for Hannah soundtracks. Its going to be interesting to see what her new album shes working with opens up with. It will probably open around the same as breakout

I want the HMTM soundtrack to go double platinum, idk if it has a chance though. The EP probably won't even go platinum but it would be awesome if it goes gold. idk even know how HM3 is doing, I only like 2 songs on that anyways.
I was talking about opening week sales though for the EP, they were better then the last 2 Hannah soundtracks even though it didn't get the promo that they got on RD or the the channel(though the EP got the Today show, which the hannah stuff didnt) and even though it wasn't available everywhere like the HM soundtrack.

lol the availability excuse has nothing to do with it. Walmart is the second largest retailer in the US. Fans could have gotten it anyway.
PITUSA wasn't promoted on RD? Are you sure? :o The EP has been getting promo on network channels, along with her clothing line.
Anyway, I was just checking if it was correct that the HM Movie soundtrack would pass "Breakout" this week or next week.

Taylor's bigger and couldn't do that

So the Taylor comparisons are bull. And nowhere did I discredit the EP's sales in it's first week. It sold very well, I never said it didn't. LMAO. Grasping at straws now are we?

People were still saying Miley's only going to sell 40K her first week max because it was an EP. I guess what I'm saying it doesn't surprise you(or even me) but apparently it does surprise a lot of a people because if you looked on this board the last few weeks no one thought she would sell what shes sold with this.

Why didn't they just record 5 more songs and call it an album. I don't understand the rush, and EP is so unnecessary, especially when it contains two gems like PITUSA and WILAY. How hard could it have been to find five, hell even 4 more songs to make this an album? It could have been released late October, and been the smash Holiday album this year. MAKES NO SENSE.

^because she is probably going to have another album out early next year...plus HR seems to rotate her between doing soundtracks and then doing an album
PS: HR is a messed up label. There is no way to explain the crazy decisions they make. They could have easily had her record 2 new songs, a couple of covers, remixed another song and called it an album.

^she doesn't have the strongest voice but she is decent and she can carry a tune
plus its really helped her that she has found her "sound"...so many artists spend years trying out different genres and sounds and they can never seem to find it
As for the video, Adam did a good job on it. Disney will definitely be pimping out this video to help promote the movie...in fact I wouldn't be suprised if we get a version with some movie clips in it.
This song has potential and I'm sure it will get radio airplay.

its great that Miley's still working with City of Hope. looks like the rumors are true. this sounds awesome: www.accesshollywood.com/source-miley-cyrus-joining-sex-and-the-city-2_article_23456Miley Cyrus is heading to “Sex and The City 2,” Access Hollywood has learned. The teen pop sensation, 16, will film a cameo in the second big screen installment of the HBO series, a source close to Miley told Access. Gossip Cop reported on Friday that Miley will appear in a scene with Kim Cattrall’s character, Samantha Jones. Mario Cantone, who plays Anthony in the franchise, reportedly quips, “Mother of God! She is wearing the same dress as Hannah Montana,” to Samantha when she steps out in the same outfit as Miley. The Disney teen star previously told Access Hollywood she was a big fan of “Sex and The City,” which stars Kim, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. She also said she was hoping to star in a teen version of the popular franchise. “I would like to be able to have that show because I feel like so many girls do watch that show and I feel like there should be one that is a little more kind of like, censored and age-appropriate,” Miley previously said. The singer/actress also told Access she fell in love with the show because of its focus on style. “One reason why I love the show so much is because of the fashion,” Miley said. “I love the fashion in it and I love the stories of the girls, not of anything else, but of the girls coming together and having lunch and just gossiping and talking.”

She should've released "Party in the U.S.A." as the lead single for her new album, not for an EP. Her album sales would've been through the roof!
