I don't see how Beyonce won a Grammy for "Dangerously in Love '2'" over Mary's "Ooh!" but more shocking was that she beat Heather Headley's "I Wish I Wasn't". How can you justify giving a 3 year old Destiny's Child group song, and an album track at that (on both albums) a Grammy over such worthy competition, namely Heather Headley? The only thing I can think of is that NARAS felt like they should have rewarded the original incarnation of that song but missed the boat, so they gave it another chance? Still doesn't justify it, in my eyes. I agree 100% I knew Mary J. had that category on lock. But Beyocne is just a bunch of HYPE. The song was on Dc's album....if it was so good why didnt it win anythigng 3 years ago. I lost of respect for the Grammys for awarding Beyonce with those 2 r&b awards(contemp. r&b album, best female vocal performance) she did not deserve. Mary j. Deserved both in my opinion. Love and Life is a classic r&b album and its one of the few albms of hers that I loved the majority of and not just the singles. If this song is sent to radio it could hit top 10 on urban definately. Because what has given Mary j. edge with urban female listeners is the ability to sing songs that young girls and women can relate to about relations and life(love and life). this song could become a ladies anthem. ITS A WRAP!!!! And for the record none of Mary J's singles were FLOPS. They were not major hits but far from flops. her songs did well on urban and thats her market, she isnt a pop princess she is the "QUEEN of Hip Hop Soul"

Maybe at radio, but it's not sold as well. Both Mary and Share My World sold over two million copies. This new one hasn't cracked 900K.

This new one hasn't cracked 900K. they didnt sell over 2,000,000, at least Mary didn't... it eventually got double platinum certified, thats true. but if you look at overall album sales and trends in the industry, L&L hasn't sold much less.

"Mary" has definitely sold more than "Love & Life". It wasn't overcertified by a almost 2 million.

Yes they did. All of her studio albums, aside from L&L, have SoundScanned more than 2 million copies.

By the end of that "era," it had sold 2 million copies. It's a little bit over that now. At the end of "Love & Life," Mary has scanned less than half of that.

Finally, they're doing something with this. It goes for URBAN AC adds on April 20. I'm surprised they're not sending it to mainstream. It wouldn't hurt.

I've seen the video a couple times on BET. Unless I was watching CMC (local music video show).
