it was about time for them to release a new single, but i think that it would have been better for them if they were going to release I'd come for you now, but now that they left it for later, i think it will be very old...something they did before with "Far Away", but even after being released so late, it peaked so high

i actually was expecting this to be the 2nd or 3rd single and predicted it would go #1 hot ac and top 10 on chr and i still stick by those predictions. I think "This Afternoon" will be huge at both formats also as the 4th single, but i think they are gonna go 5 deep again and release "i'd Come For You" 5th and it will go #1 at hot ac or top 3 depending on whats out and top 20 at chr and i think the cd will end up selling close to the last one in the end imo!

That's not going to happen. It took 28 weeks for "Dark Horse" to cross the two million mark in domestic sales, compared to 13 weeks for "The Long Road" and 14 for both "All The Right Reasons" and "Silver Side Up". The album's sales are still remarkably strong when comparing it to everything else, including fellow rock acts and divas, but where it's at I expect "Dark Horse" to finish at almost exactly half what "All The Right Reasons" sold, or somewhere between three and four million copies sold. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

^Yeah, DH is on track for about half of AtRR. Which is still amazing in today's market.

A lot of acts right now will give their left and right arm to sell at least 2M. 2M (and still going) is superb especially since they don't have a HUGE hit from this era and it's not like these guys do lots of promos here in the US. The tour, the name and radio airplay are pretty much what's selling this album.

^Yeah, considering that they've yet to have a real big hit makes the album sales extremely impressive. I don't think there's another artist out there that could sell 2 million copies of an album in today's market without a real smash hit. I think if they did have a big hit from the album like on the level of Photograph/Far Away/Rockstar, then I think they could go 4xp.

so this single makes it number 5 (in the US) so far
1. Gotta Be Somebody (pop/rock) 2. Something in your mouth (rock) 3. If Today Was Your Last Day (pop/rock) 4. Burn It to the Ground (rock) 5. Never Gonna Be Alone (pop)
i think its obviously easy to guess that they will promote in the future "I'd Come For You" probably only on pop, similar to the release of "Far Away" from their previous album.
but i think this era will fall with another two releases
This Afternoon and S.E.X. on rock

"This Afternoon" is a multi-format smash waiting to happen - Top 40, Country, HAC, Rock. I can see it having the same success as Kid Rock's "All Summer Long". I think they should send TA next Summer. It's perfect for the Summer.

It's perfect for the Summer. It is perfect for summer, but I don't know how they'll keep the album afloat at pop till next summer. They'll need at least one more single between this and TA, and ICFY definitely wouldn't be a good choice to follow this. Besides if this flops like I have a feeling it will, then that will probably end the era on pop.

A ballad? UGH! They should've went with a more upbeat, almost rock song. I know it sounds stupid, but "Something in Your Mouth" should've been sent to pop.

"S.E.X" is too raunchy, "Shakin Hands" and "Next Go Round" are too heavy. "Just To Get High" is lyrically not what pop would go crazy for. That leaves them with two ballads ("I'd Come For You" and this) or "This Afternoon". I think they should have went with "This Afternoon", but I do like NGBA.

i believe they didn't go with "This Afternoon" because they want to keep this single for the end of this era

I don't get the fuss over "This Afternoon" IMO that's the worst song on the album, and I'm a huge Nickelback fan

HAC has clearly been their core format this era. i never said something different, what i want to say is, when a song find success on CHR, its increase it's bigger than HAC, because CHR chart is way bigger as a chart, just think that #1 on CHR has almost 10k spins and on HAC the #1 song has 4k spins

I guess this will go Top 15, but it will be a slow burner.
I predict this will peak in February.
