Is it too early to say FAIL? Seriously, I thought the last single was their best shot to get back to top 10 and it didn't happen. I think they can still do major damage at HOTAC and maybe this will even go #1 over there. I think pop radio is bored of them quite frankly. If they have another Active Rock hit on the album (and I believe they do) they should push that, it seems like that has a bigger impact on album sales anyway.
Still, they are selling, and as long as that is the case, why not release a pop single? Cuz you NEVER know.

I am sick and tired of hearing them on my radio. I hope this goes no where on Pop so we can just have a bit of a break.

They should come back with a hotter album next time -- Dark Horse was all sorts of FAIL. This coming from somebody who thought their last album (sans Rockstar) was pretty good.

I actually have to agree with that. Though the album grew on me, I think Mutt Lange was a big mistake for their producer. Nickelback needs to stay with the hard driving stuff and and quit TRYING to make a pop song. The pop songs will come if they just make good music.

i think they should stop playing the same chords to every song they make and change the melody for once but thats just me. pop radio needs to be bored of them after hearing the same song for 5 years running.

I agree, people who don't like Nickelback always use that same bullshit excuse. You know what? Using the same excuse for not liking Nickelback over and over again isn't very different from Nickelback allegedly using the same chords over and over again

^ever occur to either of you that people use it all the time because its um...true? maybe thats why people always use it? how is it BS? I know music. ive taken classes in music and i grew up playing instruments. its all similar, its all the same. its not alleging, its fact. Alleging is when I dont know, but i do know. Anyone who plays an instrument (for a long time) knows. its fact because the chords are the same/extremely similar and frankly its tired.
so you know what, not addressing the comment in itself, and just rambling about me making a comment is completely futile and unintelligible. I dont like Nickelback because their whole image to me is tired. change it up or something. its the same song over and over again. and now im tired

No, no it's not. In fact, put your money where your mouth is and prove to me that all of the instrumentals, particularly the chords are the same. Do us all a big favor and post it up here, go ahead

Ugh, the "Nickelback sounds the same" crap is so 2004. I don't even bother reasoning with people who still try to use that.

You know I'm gonna be fair and unbiased here and admit that Someday sounded similar to How You Remind Me. But in order for the "exact same" argument to even come close to being valid you would have to speed up Someday and add a few instruments. Once people started saying that Far Away sounded like those two it just became crap, because Far Away sounds NOTHING like the other two, and if it did it would have been a big rock hit, like the other two. The fact is other than Someday, none of their singles sound like How You Remind Me

^Yes. Someday and HYRM had undeniable similarities (though that didn't make them the same song). But as I've been saying since '04, that's it.

Also "Gotta Be Somebody" is unlike anything Nickelback has ever made or released.

Really don't think NB uses the same chords in every song - they do stick to a similar style, but it works, and Dark Horse is selling like crazy...I think as long as they're successful, there's no need to switch up the style - as far as pop radio, they've been around for 8 years, which is about the time it takes for most rock acts to flip over to Hot AC anyway

I dont like Nickelback because their whole image to me is tired. change it up or something. its the same song over and over again. and now im tired Ummmm, did you ever happen to study 50's and 60's rock and roll where the exact same chords and exact same chord progression was used in a large portion of the hits by different artists? Compared to that period, Nickelback's songs are completely different from one another. Sounding similar makes a whole lot of sense when you consider how limited Chad Kroeger's vocals are. It has more to do with the vocals than anything else. Otherwise, Nickelback's tunes and chords are no more similar song to song than any other rock band, and, quite frankly, are quite a bit different than most rock bands. Yoou kind of kill your argument by trying to say you've taken music and know music, because your argument suggests that this isn't true, or that you didn't learn it very well. Your argument applies to nearly every artist on the pop chart.

^Yeah, in Kroeger's defense, most artists that write their own stuff end up with hits that sound kinda similar, especially when you have as many hits as NB does
Also don't think NB uses any less complicated chords than anyone else on the chart...some Top 40 artists barely use chords at all

I'm actually hearing this a lot more on HOTAC and I have to change my mind. This COULD be a big hit for them. We'll see if it gains traction. I think this is a grower.
