I think Kings of Leon have helped pave the way for them, hopefully it can be a decent-sized hit.

I knew this would go for Pop adds. I think it can be a decent-sized hit.

This is probably the most pop-friendly song they've released, so I'd say it has a shot at top 30. Also working in the song's favor are multiple weeks at #1 on alternative and higher pop listener familiarity thanks to the VMAs performance.

I really don't see this going over well with Pop music listeners. With Use Somebody, even if the song was so differently structured (no chorus), the lyrics were cliche and relatable. As for this, it's the complete opposite. Good song, sounded great live at the VMAs. But for Pop radio? I don't think so.

Last night was my first time listening to them. I have to admit, I was impressed. While I'm not a fan yet, and I don't see myself rushing out to buy this single, I still have to say they were much better than I was prepared for.

The first two singles they released from their last album (Supermassive Black Hole, Starlight) had more pop potential than this and I would have been surprised to see even them go for adds, let alone perform well. I adore Muse, but I won't hold my breath for this one.

This is probably the most pop-friendly song they've released, so I'd say it has a shot at top 340. Also working in the song's favor: are multiple weeks at #1 on alternative and higher pop listener familiarity thanks to the VMAs performance. Don't care how big any given song is at alt radio, that's not gonna do much for its CHR chances in the current climate. Likewise, while I think the VMA effect will do something to help it, I don't think it'll give it a huge boost, since, while I agree this is about as pop as any Muse single, it's still not exactly made for CHR. (I could be biased since this is the first I heard of this even being performed there, having not been arsed to watch.) I give it an outside shot at top 40 based on the fact that Muse is now a fairly well-known name (besides the VMAs thing, "Supermassive Black Hole" seemed to be everywhere despite its absence on CHR), but even that is a stretch.

Don't care how big any given song is at alt radio, that's not gonna do much for its CHR chances in the current climate. I agree that Alternative success matters nowhere near as much as it did 5-10 years ago (back then nearly every alternative hit was guaranteed to cross over, even "Last Resort" by Papa Roach), but I think that's largely because fewer of them are even pushed at pop these days. "Sometime Around Midnight", "Feel Good Drag" and "Ignorance", just to name a few, probably could have made some noise here if they'd ben sent for adds. It wouldn't surprise me that much if "Uprising" didn't chart after all (as you said, it's only pop-friendly by their standards), but if there was ever an ideal time to ship a Muse song over to pop, this would be it.

I also loved "Starlight", to the point of it being my #1 single of 2007. While I would love it if "Uprising" had a long CHR run, I don't think it's going to happen.

Uprising is an awesome song, but I don't think its well suited for POP radio. I hope they do well tho. I love Muse deeply!

^^ Obviously not a patch on the original, but a good job nonetheless. Great vocals!

This isn't pop-friendly at all IMO. "Starlight" had a much better chance.

Alright, popheads.
What the hell is going on?
It's been over two months since its release. Why am I not seeing this anywhere near the CHR/Pop chart?
The Veronicas version of this song probably has a better chance of crossing over, at this point. Or anything not made by deserving rock musicians over the next eternity.
Why oh why is pop this stingy?
It must be that guitar twang toward the end. Run for the hills, someone might have emitted a blood-curdling shriek!
Oh, the fickleness of the 2000s pop chart.
Yes, I'm an asshole and a hater.

This song deserves to be a big hit. Maybe a Lil Wayne collaboration or a RedOne remix could make a miracle

O.M.G Please tell that to Mimi but Muse cannot start doing those type of collabos. Their fans would be the first to turn their back on them, myself included.
Undisclosed Desires has a much better chance at pop. Its subject matter is better suited for the CHR format, but I still wouldn't expect a huge hit. None of the songs from the album scream pop hit.

Yeah, it was just sarcasm. Uprising is an amazing track, but POP radio is only interested in "Music for Dummies".
