Yes they did. Adam talked about it in EW. It's called "What Do You Want From Me?" I think.
According to Twitter, the songwriters for Adam's album are all still waiting anxiously to hear if they made it on or not, so I guess the selection isn't done yet, but it should be done today.

Thanks. Just thought it would be interesting to see if radio picks this up in the slightest on its own.

Judging Adam only on Satisfaction & BOW isn't fair - I HATED him after those 2 performances. Tracks of my Tears, Mad World, Feelin' Good, A Change Gonna Come, Whole Lotta Love & Slow Ride were phenomenal. I also loved Ring of Fire but that's probably his most polarizing performance of all. Well, it would take willpower to listen to him, again. I literally felt like my ears had been attacked by his screeching. I have no other way to describe it. Satisfaction was so over the top and overblown... and then to see him slaughter Black or White... like it was a song meant to be screamed out like that... and then get all emotional as though he'd just given the performance of his life. It literally made me ill. I was in disbelief. When the new song comes out, I'll take a listen. Just to see if it lives up to the hype. Same here. And U2's One was an unrecognizable mess.

TFM is #33 on iTunes. I think they probably expected a better first week based on his Idol fanbase. It hit the top 10 but has been dropping alot today.

It will be really interesting to see how Adam does. I look for his first album to be a success but to what degree. It looks like a considerable bit of money has been spent on his songs and the album itself. Will he be able to do it? Adam isn't the kind of artist like a Daughtry or a David Cook where they can go do a small club tour with little stage production (and low costs). Adam is over the top and that's the kind of tour people will expect from him. A big expensive tour with lots of production. Will he be big enough coming out of the gate to be able to pull it off. I'm not sure. This guy isn't a singer/songwriter. He's an singer/entertainer. It takes a lot more money to put someone on tour like him.
So he almost needs to come out as a superstar to get this thing going. Gaining a fan one at a time and slugging it out as an opener, etc. I just don't see that happening. Having said all that maybe he will start out as a superstar. We shall find out soon enough.

I think "TFM" is dropping because people don't really know it exists, there's no promotion yet. The chart strength of that song shouldn't be judged until after 2012 premieres.

The Idol fan base would have known about it through twitter, etc. ( not the general audience. ) It's doing fine just not incredible.

So can we change the title of this thread to "What Do You Want From Me?" It's been confirmed through several sources that that's the name of Adam's lead single. It's due out to radio by Monday at the very latest, although Q102 in Cincinatti has been on the phone with RCA trying to get the right to premiere it earlier.
Here's what the Q102 DJ said on his blog about it:

That's what he's been doing for much of the last 10 years, after all

If it were about 10 years ago, Time For Miracles would be an instant #1 :(

Yup. TFM sounds like the twin brother of "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing."
I am so excited about WDWFM though.

"Time for Miracles" should shoot up the itunes chart when the movie hit theaters.
as for the new single, i read that DJ Brian Douglas of Q102 FM is claiming to have the skinny on Adam Lambert’s new single.
He blogs:
I spoke with Adam’s record company today and we will have a brand new song written by Pink and Max Martin. It is not the song from the “2012″ movie. As soon as I get my hands on it we will put it on the air. I was told today we will have it by Monday at the latest but sometimes these things change. I will update you here when I know more. I am excited to hear Adam’s studio work.
In a recent EW interview, Adam mentioned a song called “What Do You Want From Me” written by Pink and Max Martin.
Adam described the song, “It works on a relationship level, but I also relate to the sense of talking to the public. Like, ‘This whole thing’s a little freaked out, but please have faith in me because I won’t disappoint you.”
According to one of Pink’s fansites, the song was considered for, but not used on Pink’s Funhouse album.
The name of the single has not been confirmed by either Adam or 19/RCA.

"What Do You Want From Me?" reminds me of "What You Waiting For?"... I hope it sounds like it too

TFM wouldn't be a hit in any decade, it's just a poorly written song. Hopefully the movie flops and the song will quietly disappear and we can focus solely on his album which will no doubt be fantastic.

I love TFM too :) It's hopeful and gorgeous. I love it. There's also no way the movie's gonna flop, and even if it DOES flop, millions of people all around the world will have seen Adam's video for TFM before This is It, so it doesn't matter.
Adam's going to the This is It premiere tonight.
I'm hoping we get to hear at least a teaser of WDWFM from that Cincinatti DJ before Monday. That would be amazing!

TFM is way wayyyyy over-produced. That being said, Adam manages to make it pretty likeable.

Nope it's real. Mainstream America has bought the albums of a woman who had blood all over herself during a live performance.

Snoozefest. Idol has lost its ability to produce contestants that are going to put anything out there that's noticeable.

The MAC eyeshadow and blue hair aren't noticeable enough? His drag queen makeup is noticeable, but that's about it. The music is disposable and not worth the time.
