trying to say it the nice way: this song is not a top 40 material.sounds like his old stuff and not quite good compare to his old stuff.his fans will love it but not me.maybe the label just want to make money. Yeah, I had to put it in nice words also. Too soon to trash anything Michael made.

so the label are making money from the fan. It was obvious since Day 1. If they actually cared about the fans, they would be releasing it for free to thank the fans that were with Michael during his whole career or something like that. Instead they're trying to get $ome more money now that the old stuff is going down in the charts.

Um, where do I start? This track is a demo. Not an unreleased final product. A demo. I mean that's as clear as day from just listening to it. And I can hear the added in cameo from the Jackson brothers by the way. Look, Michael's been recording since what, 1968? He must have a bunch of material locked up somewhere. Why pick the song that went unfinished, especially given the fact that it's the first posthumous single of his career.
Oh wait I'll tell you why, the people at Sony are desperate, money hungry whores. They know the public will eat up anything they throw out there. Why not start with the weakest and build your way up I guess.

Wyclef Jean and MJ made a whole album together. Why not releasing it ???

I can't believe this is an Off the Wall reject. Because a reject song from 1979 sounds so good in 2009? This really is just a money grab by the label. So disappointing.

it was probably released since This Is It was what his tour was going to be called and since he happened to record this song with the same title the label probably though it should be released now as a tie in with the upcoming movie also called This Is It. i sort of like the song though i think it is pitchy in spots.

I thought that since it was called this is it and that was the name of his tour, it was going to be a new song he recorded like within the last year or something. ugh stupid money hungry label

They just don't have enough respect for it to not release this and cash in on it even more while the irons still hot.

I hope Sony fails at their attempt to grift.

If this doesn't do well, Michael looks bad to the general public because it looks as though nobody cares about his new music.

I don't know what radio stations have planned for the release of this single, but mine has been playing it at the top of every hour since 2am and will continue to do so pretty much all throughout the day. To go with that, they are also giving away passes for the movie premiere later this month.
Judging from my first few listens, this will be a hit on the Billboard charts but in terms of airplay impact, not much on CHR, probably more towards both AC and Urban AC.

The curiosity factor will make this go top 40. I don't know how much further though.

LOL, this whole discussion of Sony trying to cash in on Michael's legacy or whatever wouldn't even be happening if everyone liked the song.

The poor guy was scrutinized during the end of his life and now this. Forget new music, forget the movie, let him rest in peace.

So I dial hopping this morning and am like what is that 60s sounding crap on the radio. (I don't have any "oldies" stations on my presets.) It was "TII" on the Top 40 station. It didn't even sound complete. Couldn't they have beefed up the instrumentals? This is so sad. I was hoping for much more.

I heard this on the radio. Sure it sounds a bit dated, but it's not a bad song by any means.

Complete disappointment. I was really expecting something more current from MJ. Probably more an uptempo, but even if it were a ballad, something better produced and with better structure than this ish. I cannot believe that MJ's "comeback" is this song. He deserved something MUCH better than this. This is almost disrespectful for him and his fans >:(

I don't think this song was ever meant to be a "comeback" song. It was probably a part of the tour and the only new song on the tour so they released it as a single...

Given all the hype and promotion for "This Is It" , there were obviously high expectations, especially coming from an icon like MJ.
The song's okay but I feel there's a lot more that's left to be desired.
And hearing my station play it once every hour all day is a bit too much.

I wish they would have taken his vocals and had a superstar producer make the music better.
