BoA .. in my opinion, the brightest shining star who debuted in the states this year.
"Eat You Up", her first single, maybe have been lacking in the verses but had an amazing chorus, while her second single "I Did It For Love f/ Sean Garrett" was the exact opposite (albeit still catchy).
Her third single, "Energetic", which has uncredited vocals by Sean Garrett, has nice promo lined up but it seems that, like the promo for "Eat You Up", the record labels may not follow through.
Do you think BoA should have become famous?
I sure as hell do.

She's real talented and all, but that album was so overproduced it made Britney's CDs sound like acoustic mixes.

I loved her sound, but it's just not what the American public likes.

She probably would have broke through if her label would be smart enough to give her a freaking adds date!

She really should have.. Love her music, and her dancing puts pretty much all female artists here to shame.

As an Asian, I fully support her. Her label screwed everything up.

There's no reason she couldn't have had a hit. "Obsessed" could be big.

From what I've seen, her music and image and look isn't "American", so I can understand why she has/had a hard time breaking, on top of poor label decisions.
But there's no excuse for 'Eat You Up' not being a hit song, and she's a fantastic dancer.
Oh, and I accidentally voted "No". My vote should be yes.

No. Eat you up's chorus and choreography made me like it, but hearing her accent in the verses wasn't really pleasant. The lyrics are kinda funky "so yum yum" and it really detracts from the rest of the track. I don't know about her other songs, but at least she's already massive in Asia.

A resounding YES. Her US handlers should've learned by now that announcing a single doesn't mean JACK in the US market, if they want any sort of wider exposure they need to send her songs for radio adds.

Yes, she should have.
And if she did, she'd easily put an end to Britney, Rihanna, and Lady Blah Blah.

I enjoyed her album a lot more than I thought I would, especially Control on the re-release, but she never was gonna do ANYTHING in the states, let's be realistic.

If you haven't noticed, the general public likes "the next big thing". Which explains why there's all this hype surrounding Lady Gargoyle. So when the next thing comes along, the public will shift their interest. Boa is already a better singer, dancer, and performer than all three of them. All she needs is substance-less pop tunes that'll appeal to the pop audience, and that takes out Britney and Rihanna. Throw in a bunch of decorations, stage props, and a need for attention, and that takes out Lady Gag-Gag. Boa is a triple threat: she can sing, dance, and perform. And if they market her to the R&B audience, she'll give Queen Beysus a run for her money.
