What a great performance. And I'm glad to see others coming around to this incredible song that I thought was stellar from the beginning.

I think I must be in the minority about the CNN performance of 'Change'. The emotion seemed very genuine and heartfelt but the vocals and overall sound seemed a bit off to me. I absolutely love the melody of the recorded version of 'Change' but this past evening's live version seems less powerful and overall just shakier than the recorded version, although in Carrie's defence, it is her first public performance of the song (I think)...

First public would be the holiday special. I think she had a much deeper robust performance on that on you may enjoy.

What a powerful, heartfelt performance! You can tell Carrie felt what she was singing with every fibre of her being. She was practically vibrating with emotion near the end. I am so glad she had the opportunity to be at this event honoring all these heroes. It must have been such an honor to meet them, and so inspiring.
On a side note, Anderson Cooper is so hot!
ETA: I've had the opportunity to meet Efren, the Hero of the Year. He's very unassuming, a man of few words, but what he's been able to do has really been amazing.
I forgot to say that, like hoosy, I was very moved by the performance and the show. I've been told more times than I can count that I'm too idealistic. It doesn't help that I work in the justice system of a country where bribery and corruption are more the rule than the exception, and people generally say that change is not possible. But I've always believed that there is hope. So yes, the song and the way Carrie sings it resonate strongly with me. "Don't listen to them when they say 'You're just a fool, just a fool to believe you can change the world.'"

Yea, it looked like Carrie was really feeling the song. She got a standing O also.

When watching her performance over, I noticed something about the end. I'm not discrediting Carrie's performance in saying this, however...Everyone stood up after she said "God bless you all." I'm certainly not saying Carrie didn't deserve the Standing ovation, because she absolutely did. I'm just saying that statement in itself may have moved some people because I bet my butt that most of the people were thinking the same thing when she said that! This doesn't take away the fact that Carrie delivered one of her best performances ever, I'm just analyzing a bit. Thats all!
I can't wait for the Fox Special, I get a two hour taste of Heaven!!! I'm so excited!!!

I think they were applauding the performance not the statement carrie made at the end because some of the audience might not even believe in God. Or maybe it was a combo of the two things. But her performance definitely deserved a standing o. It was fantastic!

Stellar performance last night (though Change has always been one of my favorites from the album)

Carrie's radio success is amazing considering she's a one-format artist with only one crossover hit (yet, hopefully)... congrats Carrie on being a legend in the making!!!

LOS ANGELES (AP) — No holiday shopping at crowded malls for Carrie Underwood. She says she has "a social anxiety problem with crowds." So she says she isn't crazy about hitting the mall on busy periods, like weekends. Underwood still enjoys Black Friday her way. She says "it's kind of a day to lay around." And, she says she, her family and friends "don't really do that much."

Carrie Underwood (19/Arista Nashville) 100-120k
New HDD Projections, I think it'll go higher to 128k still, if not a bit more towards 140k. Definitely a lock for #6 on the chart, like I predicted haha got it right for once.l
Off topic a bit, but I was searching all the old "Some Hearts" single country threads that I made when I used to have a little friend giving me inside info before, but alas no longer the case :( I miss that..

I really doubt that it'll be higher than 120K. Seeing as how HDD has overestimated Play On every other week, I don't think it will happen. And I have a hard time believing that Play On could receive a boost larger than 40% on its fourth sales week.

I'd say 112k sounds fair. At least we know for sure Carrie will scan 1,000,000 copies (+/- 50,000) by the end of the year!

I'd love it if it finished within that prediction frame, but I'm not getting my hopes up. HDD has overestimated her each week. Still, she'll most likely climb over 600K this week. So that's good. She should be close to or right around 1 million by the end of the year. Then it will become tricky, but with the right singles, I think this album can get to 2X platinum, a great feat in this economy.

I have no worries. CC is blowing up on HAC. (Yes +30s for a song without an adds date on HAC is considered blowing up.) ON the traker she is +32 for the day

HDD made this prediction on the same day as Black Friday, they're just guessing for weekend, they've been notoriously known for under/over estimating albums (understandably) T
CD was $6.99 at Best Buy which has been the place of a bunch of fights in my area today, and overcrowded since Circuit City is out of business, and cause it's Black Friday. I just think it's going to have a big impact this week ,the performances last week will impact this week (CNN Heroes,AMA) but it's going to be a big Christmas gift dunno how much Wal-Mart is selling it for but the big promotional display still in there too.

So I returned the album early last week (not the week we're still currently in) because I had been debating on whether I liked it enough to open it or not. I had decided that I wouldn't. However, today at Best Buy since it was 6.99 I decided to give it another try. Relistening to the album now & it's warming up to me. :) I just really want "Undo It" to be a single at some point.

Trust me, it will be a single AOD. I'm glad it's growing; it is a grower. After a while you won't be able to stop listening. Carrie is about to go top 30 on HAC without an adds date! I think it's already outpeaked LN!
