^Maybe because Gaga is coming off of 4 #1's (Paparazzi will be #1 within a few weeks), and is digitally the best selling female artist out there right now. GaGa could definitely give RiRi some competition, regardless of it being a 1st vs 5th single battle.

Well I guess. I'm almost positive Rihanna's single will do better because it seems to have more hype behind it. I wouldn't even put it as a 1st vs 5th single battle anyway since Gaga's is the lead from a re-release which means its digital sales and even radio play will be similar to that of a 1st single ("Take A Bow" , "3").

She has the best selling female digital song, the only female with two songs in the top 10, and I think a few other "smaller" records like most digital singles for a female in a year or some shit. Not that it matters-Rihanna also holds records of her own. Ultimately, they are both really popular, really amazing women who make fun music and have changed the pop music world to their own liking. I don't see a need to force them into competition and start fan wars over it. I personally will be rocking both singles on my mix tapes And both can be successful. It is not all or nothing here.

Oh yeah I just knew the best selling female digital song. Though Rihanna actually holds the record for biggest digital artist right?
I agree. I don't like Gaga but I don't see a reason to start a fan war, at least not now haha, but I do see it as some 'healthy competition' for both.

Oh yeah healthy competition is great-it just annoys me when I have to stop going into multiple threads because they are filled with fans trying to bash/rip down other artists or their fans. We can debate how all these ladies will do without acting like five year olds (at least in my hopes and dreams ) I honestly think Rihanna will sell more first week. She has a better history of bigger first week sales with digital singles and there is more of a pent-up demand. Lady Gaga still has a current single roaring up the charts and doing well on Itunes while Rihanna is definitely missed in the pop world. I am not sure who will do better overall-my instinct says RIhanna will have the biggest hit out of all the pop divas releasing.

Can't wait for this tomorrow! Rihanna has become one of my favorites over the years. Top songs of hers for me are: "SOS", "Umbrella", "Don't Stop the Music", and "Disturbia"...bring on another hit!!
In healthy comparison of Gaga vs. Rihanna, I say Rihanna has more immediate success due to her being a little less exposed recently (other than "Run this town", of course) than Gaga, but it could be close in both radio airplay and sales. I would expect both songs to start out big in both aspects.

I'm never judging a song from an LQ clip again. "The Wait is Ova" from that promo video sounds so much better than the other one.

Oh I agree completely. I'm not trying to start a fan war or force them into a competition, I was just pointing out that it very well could be a competition between the two songs since they're both coming out at the same time. I love Gaga and Rihanna, so it's win-win for me.

i never understand there was a rihanna and gaga duet.when i heard it first time,i already believe that it doesnt even sound like both of them.i dont understand how can some people in youtube believe the rumour.
*rihanna took few years to be what she becomes today.i just like her tranformation.she is changing from a naive girl to become the fierce chick today.meanwhile lady gaga just come out of nowhere and entice everybody.i mean lady gaga may run out of idea soon. i prefer rihanna where she have room for improvement.

I wonder if they will release this digitally next week? I think they should do it before the record comes out, so it won't eat into her sales. I think that it will debut in the Hot 100 next week.

The clip on rihannanow.com? Did they announce that as the single? No I don't think they did, I changed it to the station and caught only the end of the clip so I missed their introduction. At the end though they just said new single will be up at 11:23. The anticipaiton is killing me!
