Cant wait for the mixtape to the leak.
She really took a beating critically with the MAYA era though :/

Undeservedly so, I might add. Tho it's not Kala, it is easily in the top 10 releases of the year, maybe even the top 5.

Pearson Sound’s (best known as Ramadanman) refix of "It Takes A Muscle" - not to mention its official B-side - is sickeningly good. A few might even take an issue classifying it a M.I.A. track because her vocals are minced beyond recognition but let that not deter you. It's busy as fuq; listen here. Per twitter:vicky leekx mixtape coming new years eve! layin bad minds to rest 2010!
ITS THE MUSIC!..... im not saying it should be free im saying it should be freeer VICKILEEKX - leak me NYE! Hoping this'll somehow make its way onto the mixtape:

Cant wait for the mixtape to the leak. She really took a beating critically with the MAYA era though :/ she didnt take a beating for say. she got a slap on the wrist not for the album but for her behavior which is saddest of all. people criticized her persona not the music which was exceptional. the reviews were extremely good or extremely bad. it was a polarizing album from a polarizing artist. anything less would have been a disappointment.

Good point, Guilty. I really like you. What else is Maya if not polarizing? I am compiling my top 5 of 2010. Her album right now is sitting pretty at #4.

DJ Pierre has a track on the mixtape. Fresh Baltimore Club producer. I'm really excited for this.

@ this mixtape. NO other artist can give away throwaway mixtapes for free before 1/1/11 and have them be THIS hot. ONLY Maya. Let me hug you baby from the back. I CAN'T. TAKE. I'm only 7 min and I am saying this. This woman stays killing me.

Love the flow of Virtual Vic-E Leaks + there are some very hot trakxx. Phuck me for reading 'Gen -N-E-Y' as 'God -N-E-Y' at 1rt glance; PMB brainwashing is a big dill, y'all. A massive album w/ 2k11 critical/commercial renewal would be timely in 2k11. #hopes42k11 PS <3 the sound fx for Marsha-Britney's responses to Maya's criticsim; idkny but makes me think of Little Britain

Thank you! Haven't listened yet because of the monstrous undertaking of 36 nonstop minutes. Are any of the songs that leaked after MAYA was released renamed on this mixtape?

Look at whose 2k11 redemption arc has begunLike Bruce Springsteen's The Promise, which came out this year and revealed the possibility of an entirely different version of Darkness on the Edge of Town that almost came to pass, M.I.A.'s NYE-released mixtape, Vicki Leekx, is a gateway to an alternate-universe /\/\/\Y/\.
On a beat from Timbaland protégé Danja, M.I.A. reminds us what she does so well, building hooks out of words strung together for maximum phonaesthetic pleasure over a twisty synth bazaar, syncopated drums, and an SOS signal. It's the same thing Gucci Mane is great at, and the reason people are still playing Wiz Khalifa's "Black and Yellow": memorable semi-nonsensical phrases repeated until they become absurdly and transcendently powerful. If /\/\/\Y/\ represented M.I.A. at her noisiest, rawest, most interesting, experimental, and hard-to-market, "Bad Girls" shows it was a very conscious choice and that her pop instincts and talents remain as sharp as ever.
