I want interviews, performances and special appearances!
I'd really like her to take an elegant, grown up, sophisticated image this time around.

A ballad or a very strong midtempo as a first single could do wonders for her. Something really well written and with a nice hook.

Yay! Can't wait. This will be her first non-Fall album release since Oops! I Did It Again. Single should be out in March if they go with a May release.

Yep. This should be great! I'm expecting huge things this time around, and she better get onto her 2001-2003 promotional ways. Circus did well because of all the hype and such, but this album doesn't have all that so she's going to really need to step it up with interviews, performances, and the such.
So excited! Britney Spears is my #1 favorite!

Wow...didn't expect this so soon. Is digitalspy typically reliable? I know they say according to Jive, but any article writer could write that....maybe I'm just being skeptical.
Anyway, if this is true I cannot say I'm surprised. I bet Jive is surprised by the success of "3", so building upon that with a new single/album in the spring would continue the success (hopefully). "3" should be peaking December/January, and off the charts by Feb/March, thus a new single shortly after does actually make sense. I just hope she has more of a creative role and seems a bit more with it. I think the conservatorship has prevented her from being as creative, so hopefully that will end and she can return to having some more say in her own career and music.
Anyway, I would LOVE this if true!

I'm still not over the Circus era though, it had so much potential that Jive ruined.

OMG! So excited for a new album!!! I agree she has to do more TV performances and interviews because it would really help the album.. And I also agree that she should have a ballad as a single, but not as first single.

If she doesn't step up her game this time, to 100%, I think I am officially done with her. :(

Yay! Can't wait. This will be her first non-Fall album release since Oops! I Did It Again. Single should be out in March if they go with a May release. I think it will be pushed back to where the song will debut in the late spring and mid summer or early fall the album will be released.

A ballad or a very strong midtempo as a first single could do wonders for her. Something really well written and with a nice hook. Yes because that worked out so well for Rihanna. Am I the only one that wants a R&B Britney? I think she could be a serious Rhythmic artist IF she came out with the right song. She was could have been a Rhythmic staple IF Jive released BOOM BOOM with Ying Yang Twins back in 2004. Its cool, TOXIC was a career-saving song though. Here's to new Britney/Drake for 2010.

lol. She did get some Urban play with "Slave" , I would laugh if she got Urban play now, i could see her doing really well at Rhythmic with more dancy/urban material produced by Danja or something

(kylie? shakira? gwen? fergie? gaga?) or maybe a hot rapper?.. (jay-z? drake?) or the always wanted duet with justin?..LOL..i'm dreaming too much..

A ballad or a very strong midtempo as a first single could do wonders for her. Something really well written and with a nice hook. jive would never release a ballad as a first single from britney..we just can pray to have a ballad as a third or fourth single that becomes a hit..then they'll that people wants more than sexy tunes from britney..

This is coming out too soon. Mariah 2009 redux. Mimi didn't come from the heels of a smash hit and was not 28 years old when she dropped Obsessed, which was a hit btw. ;) Anw, I've just finished listening to Out From Under for the first time in many months and I was annoyed by the 'for everyone batchu' line. I was like wtf? I found it too 'ghetto-ish' for such a mellow ballad.

This is coming out too soon. Mariah 2009 redux. How? It will be nearly two years since her last album when this comes out. 2008 vs. 2010. Mariah made a mistake because she came out with an album each year 2008 and 2009. It will probably be a similar output like Britney and In The Zone were 2001 vs. 2003.

It will have been only a year and a half since Circus, and '3' was/is pretty big. I agree that it's a little soon, I suppose. She should make people miss her. Again.

Nope - Jive wants to strike still while the Britney iron is hot. She won't tour in 2010- that would be overkill, but expect a new album for sure and hopefully some interviews/performances. Her name is riding her with "3" plus I admit- it is a good song. I just am over it now though.

I think she'll be fine as long as she doesn't release a bad cover of an 80s singer/group as the second single.

I really think she should do a lot of promotion, go on television shows, do performances, go on SNL, do interviews, etc. She doesn't need to tour just go out and do some promotion or something.

She definitely needs to hold off on the tours. I think if she were to go on another tour so soon she would run the risk of not selling out the shows.
I want a nice sit down interview, where she is asked direct, up-front questions where she doesn't just say "yeah" or "no" to everything. I want to hear her speak and explain whatever she is asked. If she's just gonna go on a show to say two words, there's no point in her doing it at all.
And it doesn't even have to be anything remotely personal. I'd be satisfied with how she came through the process of making the album, picking the theme, etc. What is she listening to, what are her favorite shows and why.
I feel like she's really gotten disconnected from her fans. That used to be one of the things I loved about her. She used to really interactive and sounded very professional when she talked about her music.
