Let's see how long Lonestar's release sticks. They needed a label before to release their stuff, now with Saguaro Road, I bet they'll be fine. I think Mark Chesnutt's upcoming album likely will be a 'covers' record of classic country songs (he's done one before). Tanya's "Greatest Hits" likely is a licensed collection of all her hits from youth to the current album. If it's rerecordings it'll get lost so licensing of stuff from her multiple labels seems proper.

www.blakeshelton.com/newsCOUNTRY STAR BLAKE SHELTON TO RELEASE SIX PAK ALBUM ENTITLED HILLBILLY BONE, FEATURING SIX BRAND-NEW SONGS, ON MARCH 2 FIRST SINGLE AND TITLE TRACK, A DUET WITH TRACE ADKINS, IS NOW AVAILABLE Nashville, TN – January 7, 2010 — Constantly asked by fans when he is going to release new music, country star Blake Shelton is giving the people what they want. Shelton has announced that he will release a value-priced album featuring six brand-new songs, entitled Hillbilly Bone, on March 2. "I talk to my fans every day and the first question they ask me is, ‘When are you going to release a new record?’” says Shelton, whose last studio album was 2008’s Startin’ Fires. “I want to give my fans new music more often and at a lower price. The fact that people will be able to get the new music for less money is a gift to my fans who have been behind me every step of the way." The first single is the title track, a comedic, sing-along duet with Shelton’s long-time friend Trace Adkins. The single and video for “Hillbilly Bone” is currently available from all digital service providers. Also currently available on iTunes is Blake Shelton: The Essentials, a digital compilation of Shelton’s best-known and most beloved tracks, including his six-week No. 1 debut single “Austin,” and the multi-week No. 1’s “Some Beach,” “Home,” “The Baby,” and “She Wouldn’t Be Gone.” The Essentials collection will be available exclusively at iTunes until Jan. 12. Stay tuned! More details about Hillbilly Bone will be made available in the coming weeks.

Sarah Buxton performed her album live: www.ustream.tv/recorded/3914266I'm not sure when she starts performing the songs, but they started rehearsing around the 30 minute mark. I'm kind of disappointed Lyric Street only put 11 songs on her record, since we've been waiting so long, but as long as it's finally released, I'll spend any amount of money to buy it.

I'm making sure to buy it the second it comes out but, a lot of the songs are years old, I kinda wish it was all new material. I wonder how many singles Lyric Street will release after OMW falls off the charts. With 4 of them already released they're not giving themselves a lot of options. They should've taken all the ones that were on "Almost My Record" off of this, and added some of the others from the original. I would've loved to see "Full Grown Woman" "Crazy Dream" or "Cowboys" released as singles. Maybe even "Tomorrow" or "My Sweet By And By". I have a lot of her demos so I was hoping to finally have a physical copy of more of them.

Alan Jackson / FREIGHT TRAIN March 30, 2010 www.alanjackson.com/store/images/large_3562.jpgWednesday, January 13, 2010 ALAN JACKSON’S FREIGHT TRAIN IS COMIN’ DOWN THE TRACKS MARCH 30 Category: Music ALAN JACKSON’S FREIGHT TRAIN IS COMIN’ DOWN THE TRACKS MARCH 30 ALBUM’S 12 SONGS INCLUDE NEW SINGLE “IT’S JUST THAT WAY” AND A COVER OF VERN GOSDIN’S “TIL THE END” WITH LEE ANN WOMACK COLLECTION FEATURES 8 JACKSON SONGWRITING ORIGINALS Nashville, TN - Superstar Alan Jackson will release a new album, FREIGHT TRAIN, on March 30. Jackson’s 18th album (including two hits collections), FREIGHT TRAIN was produced by longtime collaborator Keith Stegall and features 12 songs, one of which is Jackson’s hot new single, the Stegall co-write, “It’s Just That Way.” Eight of the album’s dozen tracks bear Jackson’s songwriting credit, including one he penned with Roger Murrah, with whom he wrote one of his biggest hits, “Don’t Rock the Jukebox.” In a moving tribute to the legendary Vern Gosdin, who passed away last year and for whom Jackson has long expressed admiration, Jackson enlisted Lee Ann Womack to record “Til the End,” Gosdin’s 1977 classic duet with Janie Fricke. FREIGHT TRAIN’s first single, “It’s Just That Way,” is already on the express track to the top of the country airplay charts, with Music Row praising, “Alan has seldom sounded warmer than he does on this lovely ballad.” “It’s Just That Way” is also one of three songs on the album to feature acclaimed bluegrass singer Rhonda Vincent on background vocals. In addition, this past Tuesday, January 12, marked the release date for the digital single of “It’s Just That Way,” available now at online music retailers. FREIGHT TRAIN is Jackson’s newest album since GOOD TIME, his March 2008 collection which produced three #1 singles and was released to critical acclaim. Alan Jackson is one of the most respected and successful artists of his generation, has sold over 50 million albums and has 34 #1 singles, 24 of which he wrote himself. blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=16900260&blogId=525712887

They should've taken all the ones that were on "Almost My Record" off of this, and added some of the others from the original. Or used them as bonus tracks. I'm a bit surprised they only went with 11 songs (I wonder how many prospective songs they've recorded over the last few years). I was really hoping Moonshine would be on there, too. Oh well, I'll take whatever I can get at this point. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that there won't be any deluxe editions...?

Shelby Lynne opts for the "Tears, Lies, and Alibis" Thursday, January 14, 2010 – Shelby Lynne will release her next album, "Tears, Lies, And Alibis," on her own newly founded label, Everso, on April 20.
The 10 songs, all written and produced by Lynne, follows 2008's "Just a Little Lovin'," a lush, pop collection paying tribute to Dusty Springfield that was produced by Phil Ramone.
"I've made records for 20 years and never been more excited," said Lynne, who has released 10 studio albums in that period, including her 2000 breakthrough, "I Am Shelby Lynne. "I finally have the creative control I've
"Shelby has always been a true original," said Ron Spaulding, President of Fontana, which will distribute the CD. "She stands atop the list of innovative songwriters and soulful vocalists. 'Tears, Lies, And Alibis' is a stunning and true revelation by one of the world's most insightful and unpredictable artists. The entire Fontana family is thrilled to be part of the next chapter in an already critically-acclaimed career."
Rains Came, the album's first song and lead single, inspired by a rare storm in the Southern California desert where she resides. As the rain fell one Sunday morning, Lynne resisted the impulse to go outside and stand in it and grabbed a pen instead. "The dark side of me seems to like how it feels when it's pouring," she sings.
Recording initially at her home studio in Rancho Mirage, Cal., she flew to Nashville for sessions at The Rendering Plant.
"I enlisted a couple of the Swampers from Muscle Shoals - David Hood (bass) and Spooner Oldham (Wurlitzer, Rhodes) - and Rick Reed (drums), Bryan Owings (drums, percussion) and Kenny Malone (drums, percussion), who had played on my very first record," said Lynne. "Dave Jacques, one of the best upright bass players in Nashville, can be heard on Like A Fool, as can Mark Jordan, who plays the haunting piano solo." (The song was already tapped for an episode of the Lifetime series "Army Wives" that Lynne appeared in. She made her acting debut in Walk the Line, released in 2005.)
Lynne will be touring in support of "Tears, Lies, And Alibis." Dates will be announced shortly.
Songs are:
1. Rains Came
2. Like A Fool
3. Why Didn't You Call Me
4. Alibi
5. Something To Be Said
6. Family Tree
7. Loser Dreamer
8. Old #7
9. Old Dog
10. Home Sweet Home
