I'm pretty disappointed in this record. It went from being one of my most anticipated of the year to me doubting I even bother purchasing it. What always made Otto's music so good to me (besides a GREAT voice) is that he managed to do a great mix of country music with just a pinch of R&B to keep it interesting. That's flipped on this record. It sounds like a old school R&B record with just a pinch of country(if any at all) this time out. I'll wait til I can preview the entire record since I wasted all my free plays on Joey + Rory (Damn I HATE Rhapsody listening party's!). But from what I hear, the best two songs have already been released . I'll more then likely just download Soldiers & Jesus & save my cash for Joey + Rory & Jamey Johnson that week. Those both sound VERY solid. James did say from the very beginning that this album would consist of nothing but country soul music. Go here for a CMT write up that was done about it in April of last year. :)

If Alan is going anywhere it's likely gonna be Bigger Picture like ZBB in conjunction with his own shingle/label. Bigger Picture is run by AJ's longtime producer Keith Stegall. Is Alan Jackson in the roofing business with that shingle? Just asking!

Anyway, it's likely to be ACR/Bigger Picture. Alan's Country Records, the label he started years ago. He could stay with Sony Music for distribution like Kenny Chesney has with Blue Chair label but I don't know if Alan wants to do this.

I'm really wondering what the significance of the tin foil is...and is she going through a Martina-esque goth/black period? I may need a moment to get past the initial "Tin foil?!" shock, but even with that it's still one of the better covers I've seen recently.

I heard a preview of it I really really dont like it, and pray to god they dont send it to the radio, it would just be a waste of time, to me the vocals by both naomi and wynonna sound slightly off key, especially when compared to love can build a bridge and why not me, i was so happy for new judds music, but this is a dissapointment

The Zac Brown Band album cover looks like it was made out of some old carpet.

I actually thought it was needlepoint this whole time (and a pretty cool cover) until just looking at it closer and seeing it's graphical font. I guess I should have realized that, since how many manly, country bands are going to have needlework as their album cover?

Kid Rock "Born Free" (Atlantic)
Track List:
1. Born Free 2. The Midwest Fall 3. Times Like These 4. Care (feat. T.I. and Martina McBride) 5. Collide (feat. Bob Seger and Sheryl Crow) 6. Flying High (feat. Zac Brown) 7. One Woman Man 8. Mountain Music 9. Midwest Farmers 10. Sounds Good To Be Me (feat. Trace Adkins)

Kid Rock hasn't released a new album since 2007's 'Rock n Roll Jesus.' That will all change this fall, though, when the eternally youthful Detroit rap-rocker finally releases his 10th studio album, titled 'Born Free.'
Set for release on Nov. 16, 'Born Free' was reportedly hammered out during a two-week recording session in Los Angeles, with an all-star lineup of contributing musicians assembled by producer Rick Rubin. As The Boot reports, strange bedfellows T.I. and Martina McBride will pair up for a track titled 'Care,' while Zac Brown will team up with Rock on the song 'Flying High.'
Meanwhile, Sheryl Crow will attempt to recreate the magic she and Kid Rock found on 2002's hit single 'Picture,' with a song titled 'Collide,' featuring piano work from Bob Seger. Even Rock's accompanying band on 'Born Free' features some of the biggest names in music, including Metallica's James Hetfield on guitar, the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith on drums, and Benmont Tench, of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, on keyboard. Despite the fact that he's assembled a group of artists from ostensibly disparate backgrounds, Rock says it's never a problem to bring them all together. "I'm the catalyst for everything," he reminds us.

George Strait's '50 Number Ones' was similarly mistitled, since neither 'Run' nor 'Cowboys Like Us' hit #1. They hit #1 on on ONE of the country charts, just not Billboard.

Disc 1 (of 2)1. All We Are 2. Incredible Machine 3. Stuck Like Glue 4. Tonight 5. Stand Up 6. Incredible Machine (Interlude) 7. Every Girl Like Me 8. Little Miss 9. Find The Beat Again 10. Wide Open 11. That's terrible.

So, basically ten songs... and "Wide Open" has been out there for a while to stream and even purchase... take away "Stuck Like Glue" and that leaves us with just eight new songs...?? That's terrible. Especially after waiting nearly a year for a new album... Their last official studio record w/ all-new material was over 2 years ago, actually. So its even more of a let-down.

I was hoping for more than 10 tracks from Sugarland, too (especially on the Deluxe Edition), but I guess I'd rather 10 great songs over 14 okay ones. I'm still really looking forward to getting the album.
