Well, it's 3 Tedder ballads on the US edition.

I can't see Celine Dion singing a song like Outta My Head. Also, Leona sang more than one uptempo on the X Factor. And she only worked with Tedder on 2 songs on the new album ??? How is that relying on him too much? IGY is a Max Martin song. Leona doesn't need a bunch of YES people around her telling her lies. She needs people to tell her the honest truth so she can become a better artist. Also, Tedder produced 3 songs on this new album. I don't have a problem with "I Got You." I always thought it should have been the lead single.

Also, Tedder produced 3 songs on this new album. Depends what version we're talking about. If it's the North America version it's 3. The standard version/listing is only two. I do believe she'll continue to expand that type of stuff (working with other producers and song writers) as she progresses. This album she really started taking more of a part in the writing process and since she's comfortable working with Ryan from the previous album, I think they felt that it would serve as a good foundation in helping her get started in taking part with writing contributions. It's really only her second "album" (I really don't count those pre X-Factor things as legit albums).

Ugh just no. I want 'Outta My Head', or at least 'Can't Breathe' should be next.

Great choice, should've been the lead single. If this doesn't smash nothing else from this album will. The only small issue I have is the sloppy production.
I really can't see Outta My Head doing anything for her. It misrepresents this album and Leona.

I agree about "Outta My Head" misrepresenting this album. Good song, but just not really Leona.
I love "I Got You" and think it's a decent single. I'm afraid of its success on pop radio though. It starts off slow. How many PD's out there are going to listen to this song to see if they want to add it to their playlist and immediately toss it to the side because of its slow start? I love the chorus of this song and think the song really picks up well there. But it just take too long to get there. Are the PD's out there and casual radio listeners going to consider this a ballad due to the slow verses?

No spins have been reported for this so far, and it doesn't have a quick cut yet. Don't think so at least.

I really don't see Outta My Head anything else of hers doing anything on american radio AT ALL. Agreed. disagree. If i got you smashes love letter and OMH have the potrntial to do very well. OMH follows the same vein of what is successful right now on radio

This is a really bad move. It's a good song but I don't think radio will be interested in yet another ballad/mid-tempo from Leona. It'll be lucky to outpeak Happy. its not a ballad, why is a midtempo automatically assumed a ballad?

My issues with releasing OMH right now mainly focus on the fact that it just doesn't fit or suit the time of year (more than likely this 2nd single will go be released mid-January) and I think it would be to drastic of a shift following Happy's lack of success. If you're going to try to release something totally new, you have to have some type of momentum and that's clearly something that's not present at this time. For me IGY is catchy, it connects and I think it's definitely more of a winter type of song. It's also got more of a driving force behind the song as opposed to Happy. If IGY does end up doing decent, following up with OMH in the spring/summer (around April or May) is going to give that song the best chance to do well and having two decent hits will definitely help the struggling/poor opening album sales. I do know a lot of people here want OMH because it's totally something different and new for Leona. The flip side of that is go look what happened with poor Jordin Sparks when she went out of the box. Didn't work out to her advantage at all and backfired big time. In conclusion, bottom line for Leona is ANYTHING released at this point is risky and you just have to hope for the best with the choice. They're really put themselves in a big hole after Happy. Both OMH and IGY have their positives and negatives, but I do believe IGY was the way to go. Time will tell. agree 100%

Are the PD's out there and casual radio listeners going to consider this a ballad due to the slow verses? that seems to be the prob with all her singles, prob because she relies on her voice not production. But us want production and uptempo. BL had a slowish start also tho.

She's going to have 2 singles out in 2 weeks time "I Got You" and "I See You".
I can see that causing some confusion.

BLAH. I wanted Outta My Head or Can't Breathe. Some guy called Justin Garner has remixed Can't Breath into a duet, you can hear it here www.box.net/shared/i88qma130kThere's also an official club mix in the pipeline according to the producers. Its complete madness not to release Can't Breath now.

If they wanted to release another ballad, Can't Believe is the far superior song.

I'm perfectly fine with "I Got You" being released. I personally don't feel that Leona is very marketable (for the long hall) in the current anti-ballad climate. And although she can deliver quality uptempos, they just don't really feel legit coming from her.
Thus, I don't really see what else she can do/release at the moment besides ace AC ballads.

If they wanted to release another ballad, Can't Believe is the far superior song. LOL. It's so good you forgot what it's called. Can't Breathe is the type of song that will be a hit after a hit song. It's not strong enough to be a hit on its own.
