Leona confirmed this will be the next North American single on Virgin Radio Toronto yesterday. A great song, hopefully puts Leona back on the map

This song has definitely grown on me, but I still would have preferred "Outta My Head." I wonder why she didn't perform this on Kimmel the other night?

THANK GOD! Best song on the album by far. I really don't see Outta My Head doing anything on american radio AT ALL.

OMH would have been better. But this is a slightly different change of pace from what she normally releases, so maybe it will garner more attention than Happy...and pave the way for OMH for the 3rd single.

This should definitely do better than Happy but I think OMH would be the potential smash on the album. This one is a bit safer feeling and I can see why they went with it because of that. I feel like this song most closely resembles Bleeding Love in its construction and sound so it should do well based on that alone but it is different enough not to draw too many comparisons, IMO.

I think this will outperform Happy but I'm not sure it's good enough to be a huge hit. Maybe top 20 or so, *maybe* top 15 if she gets lucky. I actually like this though, much better than the borderline terrible Happy.

They needed something different sounding from her in order to have a chance at another US hit. They could've taken that risk with OMH, but they decided not to, once again. Too bad.

I just listened to OMH and I'd say it's probably a better choice than this. I don't think this is a terrible choice but OMH would've been something new from her at least.

I never really understood the love for "Outta My Head". Sure it was different than everything she's released but it still didn't scream 'smash' to me. This song is actually catchier to me. I don't really see anything from this album catching on quite as much as anything from the debut. (like BL or BIT)

I see this being a hit, it's mid-tempo enough to work for US radio. I wanted Outta My Head though! :) OMH for 3rd then.

This is good. I'm fine with it as a single as long as Outta My Head is next.

I like this it's a mid-tempo and it sounds like a hit in the U.S. but i wanted "Can't Breathe" glad OMH is not the single here it's too messy

I like this cut a lot more than I used to, but I still can't see it being a hit following a flop. Had they release OMH and it hit or had Happy been a success, then I think this could go #1. As it stands though, I don't think it will go any further than #34, if that.

^^Agreed. It's not a bad song, but isn't anywhere near good enough to push this album. Ugh, FAIL.

Follow up a flop ballad after 3 ballads with.. another ballad?
OUTTA MY HEAD should've been the 2nd single.

This is a really bad move. It's a good song but I don't think radio will be interested in yet another ballad/mid-tempo from Leona. It'll be lucky to outpeak Happy.

My issues with releasing OMH right now mainly focus on the fact that it just doesn't fit or suit the time of year (more than likely this 2nd single will go be released mid-January) and I think it would be to drastic of a shift following Happy's lack of success. If you're going to try to release something totally new, you have to have some type of momentum and that's clearly something that's not present at this time. For me IGY is catchy, it connects and I think it's definitely more of a winter type of song. It's also got more of a driving force behind the song as opposed to Happy. If IGY does end up doing decent, following up with OMH in the spring/summer (around April or May) is going to give that song the best chance to do well and having two decent hits will definitely help the struggling/poor opening album sales.
I do know a lot of people here want OMH because it's totally something different and new for Leona. The flip side of that is go look what happened with poor Jordin Sparks when she went out of the box. Didn't work out to her advantage at all and backfired big time.
In conclusion, bottom line for Leona is ANYTHING released at this point is risky and you just have to hope for the best with the choice. They're really put themselves in a big hole after Happy. Both OMH and IGY have their positives and negatives, but I do believe IGY was the way to go. Time will tell.

Likewise, Taylor Swift can get away with run of the mill stuff in the US, she won't get played on UK radio unless she comes with a great song.

This is the right single choice. This is very catchy and fits the season. I can see this being massive. OMH is a great song but the live version she did with the breakdown is so much better and more epic!

Perfect single choice. Shoulda been the first single. Happy should have never happened. Outta My Head better be the next single.

Leona has to start recording more up-tempo songs for her albums. She's too comfortable with the ballads and mid-tempos.
If Leona wants to be an Adult Contemporary artist that will work. But if Leona wants to be a Pop star then she needs to record more up-tempos. Leona is becoming a Celine Dion type artist. Celine is an adult contemporary artist.
When Leona was on "The X Factor" she was also very comfortable in doing just ballads. The only time she ever did an up-tempo on that show was when judge Louis Walsh wanted to see her do something different because he thought she was a one-trick pony not capable of doing up-tempos.
Also, Leona has to start working with other music producers. She needs to learn how to get comfortable with other producers. She relies on Ryan Tedder too much.

I can't see Celine Dion singing a song like Outta My Head. Also, Leona sang more than one uptempo on the X Factor. And she only worked with Tedder on 2 songs on the new album ??? How is that relying on him too much? IGY is a Max Martin song.
