Jewel just confirmed on Twitter that Stay Here Forever will be her next country single. It's gonna be a track from the soundtrack of Valetine's Day and from her next country album, to come out in June. The single should come out in January, much like Stronger Woman. You can hear an early version of it here: www.jeweljk.com/?em1=932_-1__0_~0_-1_12_2009_0_0&content=news

I really like this. Depending on how the production goes, I can see this propelling her in her country career. She is someone who I think deserves to be successful in this format. She really has kept the same sound she has had for the last 16 years.

The single was produced by Nathan Chapman. Don't know him, what has he done?
EDIT: never mind... Taylor Swift, I see. Jewel said Dann Huff was gonna produce her album though, maybe Nathan just did the single.

Commenting on the album cover, props to Steel Magnolia for getting a cut.

That single cover.... I don't think Chapman's production style fits with her very well. It sounds too much like it's trying to be a Taylor Swift track (even beyond the production), and I hate hate hate the layered bg vocals. I've been a Jewel fan for years, but her music seems to regress more the older she gets. This sounds like it could be written by a teenager -- not that that's a bad thing, but it sounds out of place with her singing it (even though she still has a babyish voice). I guess happiness does a number on your songwriting. ;)

Yeah, I can't believe they are STILL using the pictures from that photoshoot... Man, just go and take ONE new shot, it's not that hard...
Anyway, she did say she was gonna do a new photoshoot for the new album, so there's hope...
I like the song, it's cute and fun, and I'm sure it fits well with the movie, even though it's gonna be played during the films credits. It's not what I wanted Jewel's first single to be, I'd like to see something with more substance, but the pairing of the single with the movie is a great deal, so no complaints here :) And Nathan Chapman is, hopefully, not gonna do the rest of the album. Jewel said Dann Huff was producing it. I'm guessing Big Machine got him for the soundtrack.

I really, really like this song. It's probably the only other Jewel song I've like since "You Were Meant For Me." It's a really nice song, I hope it does well.

I think she sounds like Taylor Swift when she says "Forever". But I like this song. It has a nice feel to it. Actually reminds me of Taylor's "Fearless" for some reason.

I like this. Country radio is a much friendlier place for women than when "Stronger Woman" was released, so hopefully this will do better than SW did.

This is cute and catchy, but it's far from being the best she can offer. Anyway, I think it will do better than any of her other country singles.

I love this. Like someone else said, it does sound like Taylor Swift 2.0 though. And the songwriting is totally different from what we heard from her in the 90s. It seems like a lot of stars sort of "regress" lyrically as they get older.
But I love this song for what it is, I hope it's a hit for her.

The video is going to be incorporating movie clips; I was thinking she was just releasing the song anyway and got added to the soundtrack without too much of a tie-in, but I guess not. Also, looks like Nathan Chapman is producing more than just the single.

Yeah, wasn't too excited to see Nathan still working with her. Well, Valory is possibly pushing him and Jewel's giving a try. Hopefully they can come up with a few gems with interesting/different production.

As much as I want to cheer Jewel on like I usually have, this sounds blatantly calculative and watered-down just to successfully try and ride a wave commercially and appeal to the niche that Taylor Swift has formulated................thus making this her worst career single to date, in my opinion.
I say that knowing "0304" was a polarizing album era for her in that she experimented with a whole different style of music (namely dance/electronica)..............but I happened to like the experiment overall because, though the music was surely overproduced on a considerable number of tracks, lyrically it was really no departure for her, as she came across just as ruminative as ever that era, making for an interesting listen.
In contrast, this is not only overproduced...............it lacks any artistic semblance or vocal personality whatsoever. I know some will be quick to claim Taylor Swift can't sing and Jewel can..........but Taylor Swift is still very much at the beginning of her career still and multiple times it has been proven that not only the style of a young songwriter, but his/her vocals, often evolve..............while Jewel has a tried-and-true track record and this strikes as little more than a blatant regression for the hopes of short-term and short-lived career resurrection.
I love her music overall, but this is sadly an early bird contender for one of the worst singles of 2010, or at the very least one of the most disappointing singles of 2010 when considering previous histories of artists.
Sincerely, Lisping Hibiscus

Not sure what this says about a professional singer and her career:
Wrestling???
WWE has announced who will host WWE RAW on 2/22 and 3/8.
From WWE.com's Upcoming Raw Guest Hosts page:
February 22, 2010: Jewel & Ty Murray What does two-time Grammy Award winner Jewel and nine-time bull riding world champion Ty Murray have in common? They are a celebrity power couple ready to bring even more action and excitement to Monday Night Raw live from Indianapolis.
March 8, 2010: Criss Angel Raw will bring extra magic and quite possibly blow your mind only three weeks before WrestleMania as the “mindfreak” himself, Criss Angel, hosts Raw from Portland, Ore.

this one is really growing on me. hopefully it will be included on her new CD because I have no intention of buying the soundtrack. Last time I looked on iTunes you had to buy the entire album for Jewel's song.
