I think she sounds like Taylor Swift when she says "Forever". But I like this song. It has a nice feel to it. Actually reminds me of Taylor's "Fearless" for some reason. I agree that it sounds like Taylor when she says Forever. This song reminds me of Should've Said No Jewels voice has always bothered me for some reason, she sounds like a kid singing IMO, but nevertheless she has a good voice

i think it is....i just got the album and have been enjoying the single on the radio since it came out, and it sounds like the album cut is intended to sound poppier and more over produced...not a fan!! the single is much better.

It is actually doing BETTER than Taylor Swift's Today Was A Fairytale!

It is actually doing BETTER than Taylor Swift's Today Was A Fairytale! Seeing that Taylor Swift's song is not an official release and Jewel's song is, I would hope that Jewel's song is doing better. I'm not saying this to slight Jewel's song, but you can't compare an album track to a single release and be surprised that the single release is doing better.

Look at all the songs doing better than Rascal Flatts' Close. Those must be spectacular chart performances, all of them. I think you might be hurting their feelings, northerncountry.

Yes, I know that both songs are from the Valentine's Day soundtrack. If Taylor Swift DOES peak at #41 with Today Was A Fairytale, that means she has missed that portion of the chart for the first time since she has been charting (almost four years now). However, it is a soundtrack single and not one from her self-titled debut or from Fearless, so her streak of nine (and pretty soon ten) consecutive top tens WILL be intact!

I know that you realized that both songs were from the Valentine's Day soundtrack, but the difference is that Jewel's is an officially released single while Taylor's is not an official release on the country chart (even though it is being promoted to CHR). This won't be the first time Taylor missed that portion of the chart as she peaked at #56 with "The Best Day" and #59 with "Jump Then Fall" which were 2 other songs that were not promoted as singles on the country chart, but charted instead as album tracks.

Jewel is at #37 while Taylor Swift is at #43 with their Valentine's Day songs. Taylor's isn't a country single, while Jewel's is getting promotion as a single.

The single is not catching up, unfortunately... It's doing well on CMT and GAC, but radio is not giving it a chance. Jewel said these next 2 weeks are crucial for the single, asking people to request it. I think they are thinking of pulling the plug on it. We'll probably see a new single before the album drops on June 8.

yeah was hoping it would do better but thanks for the heads up JJ. I bumped her song up in my ranks of those I request effective today. let's see how the next two weeks go for it.

This is disappointing, because the song started off doing well, but has pretty much been stagnant for the past month. She's back up to #37 this week, but she reached that position for the first time nearly a month ago. I guess the song could still catch on, but time seems to be running out.
It's interesting, because I think if Pieces Of You were released now, and not the mid-90s, she would have been classified as country right from the start. It would be interesting to see where her career would have gone if that were the case. Part of me wants her to re-record "You Were Meant For Me" (or even leave it as is) and have it sent to country radio. I think it would be more at home on country radio than a lot of other songs currently charting at the format.

I love Jewel. I don't understand why she is not getting more airplay on country radio as she is way better then some of the other people trying to break in. Plus, she was never really Pop per se, but rather, always kind of folksy.
Why doesn't Jewel get invited by the ACMS or CMAS to perform ever? I would rather hear Jewel sing then Laura Bell bundy, who I have never really heard of before.

I would rather hear Jewel sing then Laura Bell bundy, who I have never really heard of before. She hasn't hardly released any country singles, and country already has Carrie, Taylor, and Miranda as top tier acts...don't forget Kellie, Martina, Gretchen, etc. Women struggle a bit more than men do on the charts. Plus, if you scour the internet for reviews on this song, just about all major country review sites have been bashing this one, and I can see why. It's nothing new, and at least to me it doesn't really sound good. It's quite annoying, imo. And it looks like "Stay Here Forever" is really in trouble, as the 5/1 chart should be it's 2nd bulletless week as well as 2nd week for audience loss. That means it might be the last week on the chart? I'm not entirely sure...if it has 3 negative weeks it can be dropped, but is it after the 3rd or on the 3rd?

This was a complete flop. The song was not a strong one at all. The first single off an album has to be strong. Unfortunately, unless she releases another strong single before album release, I think we're looking at low opening numbers

Because, whereas she has always had substance lyrically and, for the earlier part of her career, musically............here all of what established Jewel to begin with is absent. This is just faceless Pop that has virtually nothing to do with Jewel and sounds more like a desperate attempt to cater to the Taylor Swift crowd and reclaim some of her career stature. I think most of why this single hasn't caught on has mostly to do with the fact her competition is too fierce with other female songstresses, but I also think some of her fans can smell that desperation from miles away and couldn't care less how well the single performed either. She moves up 3 to #34 this week, but it's more of a case of songs above her going recurrent rather than "Stay Here Forever" starting to catch on. She had a small audience decrease (less than 100K), but since it was her second week in a row without a bullet, she's gone next week of she can't turn it around. Even if she can, Gary Allan, Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood and maybe even Josh Thompson are going to blow right ahead of her. #34 looks like "Stay Here Forever"'s peak.
I also wonder if the association with Valentine's Day is working against this song. The movie did very poorly, and even Taylor Swift's contribution to the soundtrack was her least successful pop radio single in years.

It's funny cause I do feel this song is very Jewel-ish, in a simple, girlie way. She has had plenty of songs similar to this, maybe they weren't singles, but if u look back, there is This Way, Morning Song, 2 Become 1... I think it's not really a problem with the song but with the artist. I don't think country radio is very willing to give Jewel a chance. Sure, the song is not Top 10 material, but I was expecting at least Top 20, much like Stronger Woman. Still, if Jewel can come up with a great single she may do better, but I doubt she's ever gonna get a big country hit.

If the song is not T10 material (which it certainly is not), then how is country radio to blame for this songs failure? The type of songs that peak in the teens are quality songs from newcomers that can't get quite get over the hump, and stinkbombs from established acts. This is neither. If Jewel is going to make it in this genre, she's going to have to release something a bit more substantiative that this.

I'm actually a big fan of Jewel but I honestly hated this song from the first time I heard it and it has not grown on me since. It's just kind of whiny or too cutesy or something. I thought her last country album was actually quite good, so I was disappointed with this single. I'm ready for something new and hopefully better.

I don't really feel like this was promoted as the first single from her album. It seems like it transitioned from being a soundtrack song to being the first single, and I don't think that's a very effective way to go. They need to put out a proper first single ASAP and promote it as such, or else the album will sink right away.

A day late and a dollar short?
It's kind of a boring video compared to the original with the clips (which was already really boring); absolutely nothing happens in it.

Didn't she already announce Satisfied as the next single? "New" video isn't going to help now.

I was surprised that Dallas Davidson and Bobby Pinson co-wrote this. Three writers not usually known for writing fluff, and they come up with just that. Very listenable, likeable fluff, but fluff just the same.
