I think this is a big mess. There was a time when Tiesto made good, solid Trance music that occasionally had pop sensibilities while still maintaining an underground feel (like his mixes/productions for Delerium, Sarah McLachlan, Jan Johnston, Paul Oakenfold, Moby, Kirsty Hawkshaw, BT, etc).
Lately, he has been doing this commercial garbage in an attempt to become more widely recognized. Some of the collaborations on the new album with certain mainstream artists are actually good, but many of them are total trash (like this one). I feel that David Guetta and Paul Van Dyk are two others who are entering into this territory as well. PVD has managed to still do both equally well, however, if David Guetta will suddenly be doing productions for mainstream artists (outside of his own artist album) like the Black Eyed Peas, Madonna, Kelis, etc., he will soon abandon his core audience. And when people will be burnt out on his production style, his former core audience will probably move on to someone else.

That story is like any other crossover though. In any genre. You will always run the risk of abandoning your core audience for the mainstream. 'Selling out' as they say. The whole CHR format is full of those. You either respect it or you don't, really. Electropop, House, and Techno is in right now, so why not jump on the wagon if they know it best?
Besides that, Tiesto really did give Three 6 and company a stellar beat here. Even if it is mainstream, I can see his underground audiences respecting the sound here because the production is still top notch regardless of his mainstream advances. Same with Guetta's mainstream stuff imo.

The jury is still out on this song. Some people have told me this song is too"techno" and they're listening to BEP,David Guetta,Lady Gaga,Pitbull and other crossover dance and rhythmic artists.

tiesto won't sell out with this track - basically because it won't sell. he's got nothing on guetta in terms of melody and catchy hooks. the song's down right boring, won't do well anywhere. where's pitbull? he'd be the perfect choice for this kind of crap.

Tiesto needs to go back to his roots and stop working with talentless urban artists.
