If only Boys in The Summer was released a week or two before California Girls, this girl would be huge right now.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS ALBUM! #DAUGHTEROmale who is into other malesYPSY at the words changing! I really loved Boys in the Summer, and fell in love with Nothing Left to Say, I hope still both make it. The fact that Dear John is about John Mayer has me completely uninterested now.

I actually really liked "Dear John." That could be because I'm a massive John Mayer fan, though. Hopefully it makes the album, just so I can have the full song.

Dear John, I could be your wonderlandLOL grav, stop that. 'Dear John' is a terrible song and you know it. NLTS, on the other hand, is stunning.

I think it's a good move that her label is having her do country. She doesn't strike me as a pop star. Once she has success in country, then she can do a crossover but until then i'm not feeling her. Dear John is just ok, nothing earth shattering.

How'd you think he got all that super secret info? ;)
(Plus he's the one that talked her into doing the video chat.)

how did this era get so messed up? We had a good lead single and now we have a turn to noxious country and a terrible song about John Mayer! Ugh.

Will any of the tracks she's already recorded make the new album? Or is she completely starting over?

What I don't understand is if she's "going country" now, why would they put out a song like "Dear John"? Even if it is just for buzz. That wouldn't get her any buzz within the country industry I'm sure...

That wouldn't get her any buzz within the country industry I'm sure... Maybe to keep her name out there? They probably figured the song would garner her a lot of buzz since it's about John Mayer. Plus, I doubt they'd want to leak any of the actual country-sounding tracks that she's recorded, just because they'll probably end up on the album.

Cuz ''Dear John'' would be on the album, now they won't put this song there... I think she will do more viral video with the songs wont' be on the album anymore.
Also, some songs she recorded will be on the album, I think ''Last Call'' , ''Gentle Man'' , ''Pretty'', ''What Am I Here For'' and maybe ''Nothing More to Say'' will be! But they will redo the songs...

She should release the old tracks that won't be used on a mixtape or a EP or something. I really wanna hear them, it's a shame if they just go to waste.

Based on the lyrics, I guess that tabloid report about them was true...? She certainly alluded to it.
The rest of the song was more clever than the earlier clip showed; I'm not a big fan of the song though. I like the melody and vocals, but the whole song being about John Mayer isn't really my thing.
But if it gets her the buzz she needs to actually get her second album released I'm all for it. Is this song getting released digitally?

For who doesn't know the story lets refresh!May 2009 www.thaindian.com/newsportal/entertainment/how-john-mayer-text-flirted-with-starlet-jessie-james_100192604.htmlew York, May 15 (ANI): When it comes to pick up lines, John Mayer is certainly creative, for he once tried to flirt with pop starlet Jessie James by text messaging her-”Let me tuck you in.” In an interview with “Boomer and Craig” on WFAN Sports Radio, James revealed that she met the singer-songwriter in Manhattan. “He had someone send for me [from] across the room,” the New York Post quoted James as saying. She added: “He had a bunch of girls with him and he said, ‘We should [all] go back to my apartment.’ ” Later, she revealed how Mayer left first to avoid the paparazzi, and then they all went to his apartment. “We were all hanging out and everyone started to gradually leave. It was just he and I at this point. I told him, ‘I need some taxi money, I’m gonna go home now,’” she said. And that’s when Mayer asked James for her number, and she gave it to him before leaving. She recalled: “He texted me throughout the entire night while I was at the hotel room,” leaving messages like, “Let me tuck you in. I want to see you.”The show’s hosts labelled Mayer “a douche”, but a friend of the singer shrugged off the incident saying: “He met her two years ago, it was not a big deal.” (ANI)

Now things will finally get right. They have to work on her image to get less provocative, get more country ballads and I hope and I belive country public will love this gurl! Cant wait for the news to come next year. She will be touring with two big artists...

Cant wait for the news to come next year. She will be touring with two big artists... Who is she touring with? To me, she seems like a Christina Aguilera/LeAnn Rimes hybrid. I can't see country embracing this girl. She's better off going pop, I think.

Nah, I'd say she has a better shot at country than pop. Like Diego said, she just needs to tone down her image. Right now she's a bit too sexy for country radio.
