I still listen to the Plain White T's! I have their last two albums, which are nothing really better than decent, but they have some catchy tunes on there.

Speaking of the Plain White T's, I just legally downloaded the re-recorded hit version of "Hey There Delilah" tonight on iTunes (gift card). I went ahead and used a credit on it because I'm running out of stuff that A) is urgent and is worth an iTunes credit, B) isn't worth the trouble of looking for an illegal download of, and C) is $0.99 or less. Plus it was one of the few songs left on my Top 256 Songs of 2007 that I didn't actually own yet.
I have a lengthy list of songs to acquire at some point that I've maintained for maybe 10 years, but that was way back before I had my own computer. And it's hard adding new stuff to it now because there's stuff I want to hold out for to see if I'm interested in the whole album, and/or I can still hear it on the radio. Also it's hard to gauge when exactly a current song is worthy of owning if it wasn't immediate.

Can't believe this is already starting to go backwards.

Really disappointed that this is stalling so soon. But I guess there's still a small spark of hope left for this one since "Feel Good, Inc." was also going nowhere fast at first.

Album really did leak today. Or yesterday. Or 3 days ago. I don't remember. I haven't listened but I'm wondering if anyone else has and what they believe the standout tracks are.

Aside from Superfast Jellyfish and Stylo, I've only listened to Rhinestone Eyes as to not spoil the release date for me. While Superfast Jellyfish was a crapshoot, Rhinestone Eyes was pretty good. I have no doubt that it's a great album anyway.

Superfast Jellyfish was a crapshoot. Do you mean it was "just OK" or you had "no opinion"? Or did you think it was "crap"? I don't think you're using that word correctly.

With a music video like that, this song could be a hit.

^Just for future reference...when someone says something is a crap shoot, they mean that it's risky and that luck rather than anything they have control over is highly involved in determining the outcome.

That video is amazing. I wasn't expecting Jamie to animate them in 3-D. Wow! Oh yeah, and Bruce Willis and the plot. ...And the mask on top of 2-D's head.

Love the song, love the video. I think the album will be a hit mainly because of spectacular videos. Radio support will be good too.

I don't see radio picking this song up again. However, the song could succeed because of the video. Kinda like Ok Go. But even that's a bit of a stretch. I don't see this becoming viral. It's different and interesting, but I'm not about to go around and show people it.

Bought Plastic Beach today, only so I could get the first week sale, as I won't have ample time to play it until the middle of next week, probably. One thing I will say is that it pisses me off that after 2 jewel-case albums, the new one comes in gatefold cardboard, only the spine is as thick as a fucking digipak, so the package is basically a thin triangle with nothing to fill up the space they allotted for, thereby causing adjacent CDs on the shelf to slant.
Also, while I'm ranting about packaging, I want to know the bastard responsible for putting the sixth and last Johnny Cash American Recordings album in a goddamn digipak when the first 5 were all jewel cases. Thanks for throwing off the uniform packaging, jerk.

Huge sign of relieve for the number 2 placing of the album - it's a hit. I hope it will eventually sell 1 million in US.

It is VERY hard these days to sell a million copies in the U.S. Remember that the self-titled only went platinum once in the U.S. and it had a sizable hit in "Clint Eastwood" which also impacted Top 40 radio, while "Stylo" hasn't even come close to top 20 on Alternative and lets face it, the chances of it hitting CHR are very slim to none. 2001 was also a much healthier economic year and the music industry was in much better shape then compared to now. I would actually be shocked if this album ever goes platinum in the U.S.
