T.I. Announces New Album Title
T.I. is breaking free with his seventh studio album. The Atlanta rapper has announced a title for his next release.
The follow-up to 2008’s double-platinum Paper Trail will go by the name of King Uncaged, it was revealed today via Tip’s website TrapMuzik.com. He has been recording with Jim Jonsin, B.o.B, Danja, and The Runners for the August 24 release. A buzz single “I’m Back” is currently No. 65 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In his first interview since completing his prison sentence, the King of the South described the album’s direction. “Paper Trail was a lot more about thoughts and this is more about feelings,” he explained. “This is significantly more aggressive. It’s going hard like classic T.I.”

MTV: There can never be a lack of star power on a T.I. album, because even standing alone, the King of the South shines just as bright as any celeb in the music cosmos. He's recorded 80 songs thus far for King Uncaged (due August 17), and while there's no official track listing for the LP as yet, Tip did reveal a list of some of his peers who have been collaborating with him. None of those tracks, however, are guaranteed to make the cut. "I'm kinda doing a bit of the sequence," Tip said. "Of the 80 songs I have, I'm trying to filter out what may remain." Atlanta's lyrical Emperor recorded a tune with Kid Rock that pays homage to Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive" (Just Blaze produced that one). The-Dream checks in on "Show Me Your Tears," as does Keri Hilson on "I Got Ya Back." Tip and Trey Songz did a song that will probably be called "Strip." Lady Gaga has even laid down vocals for the LP. "Phenomenal talent. Extremely proud [to work with her]. She's definitely that good. She knows what she's doing. She knows exactly what she wants people to think and say. She does everything that she needs to be done to ensure it happens. I think she's an entertainer, in all aspects of the word," Tip said of working with the Gaga. "She's a classic, all-around entertainer. A global star." When asked about the record's name, the King couldn't contain his laughter. "See, this is the this. We gonna go back in and record some more songs," he began explaining. "But the one we have right now is entitled 'Lick It.' I think we both have a tendency to shock the world in a lot of different ways. "I just tuned in to another side of T.I.," he added of his approach on the record. That song is produced by Gaga's ace beat man, Red One. Tip has also been in the lab with his Grand Hustle family. " 'Knock Down, Drag Out' featuring Young Dro and Mac Boney," he answered when asked to reveal another collabo. "[It is an] up-tempo club record where we all take turns going hard. It's going to be a fan favorite." Tip says he and Eminem have grown to become good friends and they have agreed on one particular song — which shall remain nameless for now — for a duet. "It's in the making," Tip said of the song. "It just hasn't been recorded yet. The song has been picked out and it's been agreed for us to do it. We're thinking a song that can definitely make its way to the club." As impressive as the list of artists Tip has been in the studio making songs with is, equally impressive is the list of artists he's had over to listen to some of his material. Diddy, Drake, Nicki Minaj and Wale have all heard some of King Uncaged, and Tip says he's received accolades for how "big" the songs are sounding. On Monday night, Tip released another single from his album. This one is called "Yeah Ya Know (Takers)," which will be used in the film "Takers." It follows the recently released "I'm Back." T.I. is also looking to drop his mixtape F--- a Mixtape on Thursday.

Yeah they needed to push it back, Im back did okay but he needs another hit single imo before this album drops, he needs the buzz. Tough its TI who has a fanbase. And yeah I remember him saying on mtv I believe that he did do a song with Gaga.

"I'm Back" and "Yeah Ya Know" are good but "Got Your Back" is just not a great first single, so I'm not surprised to see it not blowing up yet. For some reason though I'm not really anticipating this album, I haven't heard anything amazing so far.

Who would have thought that between two of ATL's finest coming out on the same day, that it would be TI who pushed their album back. WOW! I still think that he will do really well and i'm sure they've got some really nice records hidden

If the GaGa track is somewhat decent and commercial they should just release it now. IMO

That is cool that he is getting married this upcoming Saturday. It seems like it has been a long time coming. I do not understand why radio is not responding to his material.

T.I. Records Six New King Uncaged Tracks With Kanye West 'I just left Hawaii with Kanye,' Tip said on the red carpet of 'Takers' premiere.
By Shaheem Reid
Call it the reunion of the King of the South and Martin Louis the King Jr. The last time T.I. hooked up with Kanye West, the two made the undeniable hip-hop anthem "Swagger Like Us." And the pair recently took half a dozen more shots at making another classic. You can add the Louis Vuitton Don to the list of acclaimed producers to work on Tip's next LP, King Uncaged (due in September).
"I just left Hawaii with Kanye," Tip said last night in Hollywood on the red carpet for the world premiere of "Takers." "We did six records."
The King of the South recently told MTV News how excited he was about going in the lab with some other track emperors. "We got a few big, big, big sessions coming up next week: Timbaland, Swizz Beatz," T.I. revealed. "I'm trying to show up and show out every time."
By early July, the collaborations, at least the ones with Swizz Beatz, were done.
"What we just did is bigger than those," Swizz said over the Fourth of July weekend about the two new records he produced for Tip. "It's bigger than 'Swing Ya Rag,' it's bigger than all of those. We're growing as artists. That's one of the things I wanted to focus on with Tip, was: 'We did that already. We don't need to compete with nobody. You up there.' Everything we gotta do, we gotta stay leaders. That's how we got to where we at now. He gave me his OK on that. Gave me the clear lane. And we're gone. Trust me on that. The first joint, it's nice. Crazy! The second joint is taking the world over. It's a positive message, and I'll let him explain the rest of the story, because he would be glad to. [It's] very musical, but still with that swag in it."

No longer coming out on September 28th. The King is not quite ready to leave his cage. Hours before hitting the stage at his “AXE One Night Only” concert, Tip revealed to Rap-Up TV that his new album King Uncaged won’t be dropping on September 28. Instead, he’s focusing on promoting his film Takers and plans to go back in the studio to record more material once the movie arrives in theaters.
“I pushed the album back so I can completely focus my attention to the rollout and release of this film Takers,” he said. “I feel it wouldn’t be fair to the film or the album if I was splitting my attention span amongst the two, so I hit pause on the album to completely focus my attention to rolling out this here film. And once we prayerfully debut No. 1—25-plus, 20-plus million—then after those bottles have been popped and that celebration [is] underway, I will completely resubmerge myself back into the music, fully on album mode.”
Tip has three to four more weeks worth of recording left to finish the album. He’s already done over 100 songs and has to narrow them down to 14 which will make the final cut.
T.I. arrived at Capitale in a rush, but quickly settled in for a night to remember during his first full show since his “brief vacation” at AXE Music’s “One Night Only” launch concert in New York City on Monday (Aug. 16). The motto, “Who did you bring?” was plastered on the widescreens positioned at the sides of the stage. As for Tip, when he entered the room, he brought with him a collected demeanor, unfazed by the pushes and pulls of the press and anxiety of the crew, and a wad of Benjamins in his pocket. But that wasn’t all he brought.
When he arrived on the platform to perform his hits later that evening, a few trusted friends tagged along. His labelmate Maino got his shine on during his empowering anthem “All the Above.” Grand Hustle’s own B.o.B. came out for his smash “Nothin’ on You,” while Cam’ron and Vado got the audience live with “I Really Mean It.” Everyone could feel the love in the room when Mary J. Blige accompanied Tip on “Remember Me” and “Good Love.” The incomparable hit battalion that is Swizz Beatz got down with “Fancy,” giving way to Keri Hilson, who strutted across stage in a leopard-print top, leather shorts, and combat boots for “Got Your Back.”
T.I. wasted no time delivering the hits that made him King of the South including “Whatever You Like,” “Swagga Like Us,” and “Bring ‘Em Out,” while his new bride Tiny waited in the wings. Trey Songz was also spotted in the audience. Clifford Harris Jr. ended the show with his chart-topper “Live Your Life,” sans Rihanna, and by telling his fans to believe in their dreams, for if no one else does, “I believe in you!”
They say T.I. has the South on lock. After winning over NYC and a throng of celebrity supporters, it was apparent that he also holds the key to the North.
–Tanya Remekie*DEATH* Wasn't this supposed to be his album release concert? The album was scheduled to drop today, on August 17... LMFAO...

He's not generating the big radio hits like he did with previous albums so they're regrouping. Makes sense.

Nice way to say, he has not had that hit that he's looking for. All of his recent material is just not anything good at all. Sorry. T.i. is one of the rappers thats talented. But he has got to do better.

Lady Gaga’s highly-anticipated collaboration with T.I. is in limbo. The pop perfectionist may be scrapping the current song she recorded with the rapper so she can create something even more spectacular.
The unnamed T.I.-Gaga record was set to appear on his album King Uncaged, but its future is in jeopardy. “[Gaga] brought it to my knowledge that she would like to top what we already have,” Tip exclusively told Rap-Up.com. “That being said, I don’t know if that’s going to be a keeper or if that’s going to be one-upped or what not.”
The King of the South considers the megastar to be “a phenomenal talent and a wonderful lady,” joking that he had to beg to score some of her precious time. “I begged on hands and knees, please!” he laughed.
T.I. explained how their paths crossed when Rap-Up TV interviewed him at the MTV Movie Awards in June. “I worked with the producer RedOne and made it known that I was interested in working with her and the enthusiasm was shared, and we were able to get it done.”
In addition to Gaga, Tip also mentioned that he was recently in the studio with Kanye West in Hawaii. “It went wonderfully,” he said of their sessions. “We recorded six to seven songs in two to three days.”

T.I. Talks a Man Down From a LedgeOne for the strange-but-true bin: Yesterday afternoon, T.I. helped talk a 24-year-old man down from committing suicide by jumping off a 22-story building in Atlanta, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Turns out the man was on top of the same building that housed a radio show hosted by Ryan Cameron on hip-hop station V-103. T.I. heard about the situation, called Cameron, drove to the scene, and then recorded a video message to the man which the police played for him on the roof. Apparently, the video encouraged the man to come down from the ledge, and T.I. spoke with him for five minutes afterward.
Some may point out the incredible timing of this happening: T.I. has an important court hearing on Friday that will determine if his recent drug arrest will revoke his probation. According to the Journal-Constitution, the rapper told Cameron, "I'm not taking any credit. I didn't wake up this morning with the intentions of going down and helping hostage negotiators talk someone down off a ledge. I don't expect this to have any different impact on any of my circumstances. That wasn't my motivation." I wish you could step back from that ledge, my friend You could cut ties with all the lies that you been livin' in And if you do not want to see me again, I would understand I would understand3EB >>>>>> MB20
