Now that I've started listening to Casey's 80s shows again, this is driving me crazy again! Are the people who're remastering these shows (from the vinyl I presume) really remastering them, or are they lifting Casey's vocals, the jingles, etc., and putting them over CD versions of the tracks? It just doesn't make any sense to listen to a singles countdown and hear the album-length version, especially when you hear truncated versions of other songs later on. The original producers you would expect to edit to make sure they stay within the 4 hour timeslot, but why in heaven's name would you expand? For instance, this weekend had the 5 minute version of "Shock The Monkey", but with "Twilight Zone", the 2nd verse has been snipped. I just suspect that the remasterers are using the best sonic-quality version they can lay hands on, and only remaster songs from the original show which aren't easily available on CD/MP3. Does anybody know the "real truth"?
