So basically this is Simon's attempt to get his British artists to find success in the US?

So basically this is Simon's attempt to get his British artists to find success in the US? Pretty much. Especially Bon Jovi, Mariah Carey, Michael Bublé, and Miley Cyrus. He's been desperate to cross them over to North America for years. Source of this article is British and, as far as I can tell, the physical single has no scheduled U.S. release date, so I'm assuming they mean it's being released to UK radio.

It will be played on Radio 1 (UK) and a few others @ 8am. Not sure about the US. I highly doubt it though as there already seem to be a number of different charity songs on US itunes from the Haiti album. Although it might do well sales wise because of the names attatched. P.S: There are loads of british artists on this, so it COULD be a way to introduce them. Although I don't think Leona needs introducing

^ I suppose, but at least she has some form of fanbase :) Just hope the label re-launch her on AI. So far the era has been a bummer :/

The Linkin Park song probably would have the best shot of doing something on pop of all the random Haiti songs.

I was referring to the collection of random Brits on this. I think that if someone is going to release a charity single they should include the biggest acts out so it sells best - that's what their intended to do.

James Morrison, Robbie Williams, etc are huge in the UK. And will help sell this there.

As rince said, I think this is being marketed in the UK, so that's basically what he did. Plus, seeing as this was put together hastily to respond to a crisis, I'm thinking Cowell used a lot of artists with whom he already had established ties so that he could easily get them for the recording. Not saying the additional promo isn't an added benefit, but there are also practical reasons.

This is clearly aimed at the UK and European market. All these artists are either current or very popular there.

Is Alexandra on it? I don't hear her...?
Anyway, apparently this was initiated by Gordon Brown so I guess that's why there are so many British artistes on it.

Simons pride, leona has the most lines and you can here her belting a lot at the end. Her vocals are always in the foreground....
