^This image took up the entire 2nd page of tonight's Country Aircheck. I resized it, but as you can see, it's a big broken heart, and then it says "Coming Soon" below it. In the resized version you can't really see the bottom, but it says Mercury Nashville, a Universal Music Company.
Anybody have any guesses as to what it means? I'm guessing it's a Mercury artist and not an MCA one...I doubt it's Jamey Johnson, and Mercury's top 3 artists--Sugarland, Billy Currington, and Easton Corbin--all have new singles out there. Randy Montana and Randy Rogers Band also have new singles...so we're left with Julianne Hough, Laura Bell Bundy, Coldwater Jane, or...dare I say, Shania?!
I guess it could be an act maybe I'm forgetting...or possibly a new act or someone from MCA too (or Jamey Johnson), but I would guess it's a female act...
I hope I'm not getting anyone's hopes up. I'd just love for it to be new Shania music!!

Julie Left last May, so not her...hmm
From what I can tell their roster consists of...
Billy Currington - Let Me Down Easy Coldwater Jane Easton Corbin - I Can't Love You Back Holly Williams Jamey Johnson Julianne Hough Laura Bell Bundy Randy Montana - 1,000 Faces Shania Twain Sugarland - Little Miss
I don't see Coldwater Jane getting that big an ad, Holly I'm not even sure is still with them. Doesn't seem to fit Jamey but he does have "Heartache" maybe... Julianne is probably getting a new single soon as I'd think Laura Bell will too so could be them....I don't want to imagine it being a Shania ad cause if that were the case I might be doing what the Britney Spears' Fans have been doing in her thread on the pop forum.
"Heavy petting in a hayloft never sounded quite so good!" - Shooter on Ashley Monroe's "Hands On You"
^The UMG website doesn't have Holly Williams listed on their roster.
But I agree...I can't see Coldwater Jane getting that attention. I do think they'll eventually try to get new singles out for Julianne Hough and Laura Bell Bundy, but neither has been that successful lately...and this ad just seems like something bigger. I suppose it could be Jamey, but I can't imagine all that pink and red for him!
I want it to be Shania...but it seems too good to be true...
Ordinarily I'd consider that style of iconography associated with Sugarland, but I'm not sure what sense it would make not to directly associate the giant ad with them in that case. Definitely a head scratcher.

When they launched Holly Williams they took out a full page ad as well so it could be a newer artist. Maybe somebody we haven't heard of yet. Also Holly still seems to be there, just checked. Right at the bottom of the list almost. She's right before Lee Ann Womack.
^There are a lot of different scenarios. I could see it being Laura Bell Bundy, yes, but that's an awfully big ad for her...and usually you don't ever see ads like this unless it is for something really, really big...plus, her album isn't selling that great, and it's been a couple of months since she had her last single out, and it barely made the top 50. Julianne is in an even worse scenario when it comes to country radio...
Normally I would've thought Sugarland, but "Little Miss" probably isn't even halfway thru its run, and they just had an album come out and it's selling very well. I really, really hope it is Shania...
