I've been looking everywhere for proof that this "Good Enough for Me" is actually the Carrie co-write. Not that I don't believe you, kt1990 :) I'm just a naturally skeptical person who has to see things for herself. I finally found a scan of the album booklet. There's Carrie (and Luke and Hillary)! Yay! This would be Carrie's second co-write on another artist's album. img203.imageshack.us/img203/1299/79595960.jpg(with thanks to Megan!) ------ Wow! Close-up of Change. I go back and forth between being fascinated by her voice and facial expressions, and waiting for that eagle to fly up and explode into little birds.

Hehe, the lyrics to "Good Enough for Me" are about a girl in a long-distance relationship with her guy who is happy to have any free time with him. Wonder who inspired that song? ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif) The studio version is streamable on Jessica Harp's myspace

Good Enough For Me(Luke Laird, Carrie Underwood, Hillary Lindsey) It's just another red light in a different town I'll see the sun come up and go back down This crazy world keeps on spinning Round and round and round Look at me I'm a big old mess I can't sleep at night, can't catch my breath I tried everything I know to do But it won't be better 'til I'm with you Don't matter how long it takes Yeah, I'll drive all night never hittin' the brakes Any time with you is good enough for me Don't need a limousine, getting all dressed up Just driving around in your pickup truck Anywhere with you is good enough for me, yeah yeah Laying around, wasting the day Closing my eyes, drifting away In your arms, no I don't wanna wait Getting closer to letting go It's all I want 'cause all I know Is without you it hurts so bad With all the strength that I have I'm gonna burn every mile 'til I get back Don't matter how long it takes Yeah, I'll drive all night, never hittin' the brakes Any time with you is good enough for me Don't need a limousine, getting all dressed up Just driving around in your pickup truck Anywhere with you is good enough for me, yeah yeah Don't matter how long it takes Yeah, I'll drive all night, never hittin' the brakes Any time with you is good enough for me, yeah yeah Don't need a limousine, getting all dressed up Just driving around in your pickup truck Anywhere with you is good enough for me Is good enough for me Is good enough for me, yeah yeah (with thanks to Krista, and apologies as well 'coz I changed/added a few words and may be completely wrong) ---- kt1990, I saw that BMI entry, but it didn't have the performer listed. Neither did the ASCAP entry. I had to see the specific album/performer --> song+songwriters relation. Yeah, I'm anal like that ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif) It's just that there are same song titles ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif) Haha!

These are cute! 95.5 WFMS giving away Carrie concert tickets and backstage passes ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0270.gif) There are 3 more vids at the sidetab. --- Looks like Carrie is doing her radio blitz on Monday. WUSN is one of the stations for sure, Vinman ;) Maybe between 3-7pm. Also, her co-hosting gig on Country Countdown USA is set for March 27-28.

^ awesome! Finally. I think Temporary Home has a much more direct religious/spiritual message then So Small did...and So Small did very well on Christian radio I think.

Hehe, the lyrics to "Good Enough for Me" are about a girl in a long-distance relationship with her guy who is happy to have any free time with him. Wonder who inspired that song? ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif) The studio version is streamable on Jessica Harp's myspaceThanks for the link, lyrichord. I'm not sure about your theory, though, because I'm pretty sure I remember "Good Enough for Me" having been registered at ASCAP before Carnival Ride was released. That said, it wasn't registered at BMI until last year, so it is possible that Carrie, Hillary Lindsey and Luke Laird revisited the song when they were writing for Play On. Another possibility, of course, is that they finally registered it at BMI in anticipation of Jessica's album release. It's a decent little ditty. The lyrics in the second verse scan a bit awkwardly and it's another Carrie co-write that I think needs a bit more in terms of imagery in the verses. But as filler, I would have taken it over "Twisted" on Carnival Ride. Regarding the ambiguity or lack of specificity in Mama's song. It was intentional. I believe in the YouTube video that was posted where Carrie spoke about the song, she said that the song was left vague on purpose in order to have the song apply not only to a future husband. She said that the idea of the marriage might be the overwhelming concept that people might take from the song, but the lyrics could apply to a mom driving her daughter to university where the daughter is on her first steps of independence and the mom is basically giving her daughter away to God. I am aware of that and referenced it in my parenthetical comment to lyrichord in the post that you quoted. The intentional ambiguity of the chorus doesn't bug me; it's the lack of specificity in the first and third verses -- as beneficial pointed out, there are missed opportunities to give poignant little windows into the daughter's relationship to her mother that would have in no way interfered with the dual interpretation that Carrie has said she wished to keep. I'm puzzled as to what indications there are of any kind of push. I see that a few regulars in the Christian forum there have posted in the thread, but two commenters there look like thinly-disguised fanboys/fangirls. One of the regulars indicates that "Temporary Home" is on his/her radar as of this week, but other regulars didn't show much prior awareness -- if anything, that is an indication that there hasn't been a push, overt or behind-the-scenes. I might be more inclined to buy into the idea of label involvement if there were multiple stations giving TH test spins this week. Are there? I wonder about Arista Nashville's ability to push airplay on the Christian formats, anyway. It seems to me that if TH is going to pick up on Christian radio, it will have to do so on its own (an impact TV performance would probably help put the song on more people's radar in that market).

Dudley - I'm referring to the constant mention of "Carrie's team" being "onto something." I interpreted that as TH maybe being pushed or at least sent to Christian radio. It could be the fan in me reading too much into it though. ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif)

I had no clue that Good Enough for Me was a Carrie co-write. It's a pretty catchy song melodically, but I have the same issue with the lyrics in the second verse; they seem rushed like they had to finish the song, but were running out of ideas so they threw something together. Even without the extra polishing though, I still think it's one of the more memorable songs on Jessica's album. I'd love to hear Hillary's take on it.

Concert review: Carrie Underwood shows her chops during A.C. show ATLANTIC CITY — “American Idol” may exploit aspiring singers for ratings, but it did two things right. It gave the world pop vocalist Kelly Clarkson and country singer Carrie Underwood. Underwood, 27, brought her “Play On” tour Friday into Boardwalk Hall. It’s hard to say what’s more impressive, her sassy way of singing uptempo numbers or her powerhouse way of belting out a ballad. The Oklahoma native didn’t hold back, exploding out of the box with her most recent No. 1 single, “Last Year’s Cowboy Casanova.” Underwood came out dressed in a black-and-white ensemble with a black tuxedo jacket with tails, white tuxedo shirt and black-lace gloves. She sang into a wireless microphone placed on top of a cane. She stood at the front and center of stage, which raised and lowered. The staging of the show was appropriately arena-dazzling, as video screens transformed the stage’s backdrop into a green forest as she sat on a swing that moved during her rendition of the song “Just A Dream.” The current Academy of Country Music Awards Entertainer of the Year has recorded more famous ballads, but “I Know You Won’t,” an album track from her 2007 CD “Carnival Ride,” showed how she can blow people away while still servicing a song’s lyrics. From the stage, Underwood mentioned that she was glad to be back here. She sang here in February 2008 at Boardwalk Hall when she came onstage first during a co-headlining tour with Keith Urban. Besides Underwood’s vocal power and well-written commercial country-pop songs, she seems like a nice person, which helps her attract a broad audience ranging from young children to grandparents. While singing another of her new songs, “Quitter,” she waved to her fans with her left hand while holding the microphone with her right. Underwood’s show was a crowd-pleasing mix of her hits and songs from her third and newest CD, which will occupy the No. 28 spot on the Billboard 200 Albums chart next week. The one thing that Underwood could add to her concerts is a commitment to show more of her personality onstage. At some points, she just went from song to song — a slave to lighting and production — without talking to the audience and giving the crowd a glimpse into what she’s really like. This approach does allow Underwood to cram more songs into her time onstage, but someone could have walked out of the venue thinking she was a better-voiced, down-home, less glamorous version of Faith Hill. Boardwalk Hall was the sixth stop of Underwood’s “Play On” tour, which kicked off March 11 in Reading, Pa. One of Underwood’s opening acts was Craig Morgan, a more traditional country singer. Morgan, 45, had experienced his greatest success when his single “Redneck Yacht Club” went gold, and his CD “My Kind of Livin’” sold more than a half-million copies in 2006 and 2007, respectively. A Tennessee native, Morgan was onstage for 40 minutes. He performed “Redneck Yacht Club” in the audience in the middle and in the front of the orchestra section. His newest single, a story song with a heartfelt message titled “This Ain’t Nothin,’” was greeted by applause from the audience when he finished it. Morgan surprisingly sang a cover of the R&B song “Easy” during his set, a tune recorded by The Commodores but written by member Lionel Richie. Sons of Sylvia, who used to be known as The Clark Brothers, opened the evening with their energetic mix of bluegrass, rock and country. They performed a blazingly fast and short bluegrass jam with Austin Clark on dobro, Adam Clark on mandolin and Ashley Clark on fiddle. pressofatlanticcity.com/life/breaking/article_e534b72c-33cf-11df-832f-001cc4c002e0.html

That was the most random fact I've ever read in a review!! Interesting that someone would want less songs and more talking in a music concert!!

One reviewer said "she took a step with her right foot and took another with the left." ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif) Haha, I never noticed how funny that did sound until you pointed it out. I get his point about the talking and I have no doubt that Carrie will get more chatty as the tour progresses, but I also get your point about it being 'interesting' that a viewer would want more talking in a concert.

It would appear that Carrie's stage crew was involved in a motor accident this morning, and one of the truck drivers has passed away.
