The final US hit for the Scottish singer most famous for 'To Sir With Love'. #18 in 1981, a considerable, if brief, comeback given she hadn't troubled the charts since 'Oh Me Oh My' in 1970. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw30WRvI0fs

Very nice song. It would be cool if the Alfa material saw a proper CD collection issued. Lulu is one who's done her thing for many a decade and done it well, but never quite seemed to break through as an A-list name.

She's maintained a high profile in the UK, albiet more as a television personality than a singer. Her more recent chart apparences have been thanks to high profile duets with Take That (Relight My Fire #1 1993) and Ronan Keating (We've Got Tonight #4 2002). She released an album of soul covers a few years ago but it didn't do much.
I was faintly surprised when she popped up as a mentor on American Idol a few years ago, and even got to perform on the results show. I know To Sir With Love was massive in the USA but I didn't think she'd be particularly well remembered...
