PULLING FROM GODNEY'S THREAD: HotMusicNewsNow this is what Ive heard from MTV. There WAS supposed to be a single in may and an album in July, but due to a collaboration Brit really wanted she had to wait a while, which explains pictures of her in the studio in early december/jan twitter.com/hotmusicnewsnow There is truth to this, there is a collaboration set for the next album but it's known who it's for yet. KELEGEND AND GODNEY DUET, I CAN FEEL IT.

LMAO- I don't think I've ever seen that interview before, so thanks for posting Wallace. I got a chuckle out of his confronting her asking if 'Justin to Kelly' was any good and her answer was that it's not for him but more for kids, his nieces and nephews. How 'bout that for contractually obligated, lol ! Seriously, I love his final comment to her that she "has not changed", I do not think if I were a fan of Kelly at that time that after being in the industry 8 years later, she would not change, even though she really hasn't. What has evolved though is her sense of artistry and ownership of her name- we've seen it many times in the strong opinions she has of her likes and dislikes, of what she wants to do with her career, of what she wishes to write about, even when sticking to her guns backfired on her. Big props. Lastly, about the duet: I am assuming that y'all are joking about any possibility of a Kelly and Britney duet, since I am not aware that "people have been wanting it for years" (or whatever Kelly said about the mystery artist). No doubt it would generate loads and loads of hype and would be mega-intriguing, but I can't see how their vocals would mesh well on a duet or translate well live. We'll see :)

Belly stans, can you help me out. Can you re-post the best most waily/belty/A5y performances of Walking After Midnight, Lies, Use Somebody and 7 Nation Army from the last tour. I just want to hear the best ones again, and there a billions to sift through on YouTube.

There is no doubt in my mind that Daughtry is the person she's dueting with. Her blog, the recent duet, and the previous try at doing one for AIEW strongly suggests they're finally doing it this time. I personally love his voice, and it mixes incredible well with Kelly's (Fast Cars is an excellent preview of what they can do together).
There is no way people have been wanting to duet with Britney for a long time. Kelly would annihilate Britney vocally. Then imagine a performance where Kelly is singing/belting live, while Britney's lip syncing her own parts. It's just not going to happen, and I don't think Kelly would give in to it, either.

Hey people, I've read on here, and other places, about Kelly's live songs (SUBG, MLWSWY) being lower by a key than the original recording. Any idea why ?? I don't notice it so much in SUBG but definitely in My life.... BTW Focus and addited06 have the sexiest Kelly avatar's. OMG. She's incredibly beautiful there. 2004 Kelly's look + 2009 Kelly's vocals = WIN! No, 2005 because she looked like one of the Olsens

Hey people, I've read on here, and other places, about Kelly's live songs (SUBG, MLWSWY) being lower by a key than the original recording. Any idea why ?? I don't notice it so much in SUBG but definitely in My life.... This year she lowered a couple of her songs by a half step or full step, and I'm fairly certain it was to preserve her voice. I think it's really smart of her--her songs are incredibly difficult to sing and she tours so much, we've already seen what kind of toll it can take on her voice. This way, they are a little easier, and when she's feeling up to it she tosses out a special, ad-libbed high note. The only thing I hope for is that she doesn't lower initial promo performances. I get why she does it for tours but MLWSWY was kind of a let-down until she really got into it much later.

She obviously lowers the keys so the songs are easier on her voice, if she doesn't there's the great potential that Yelly will emerge. I can't say I'm a fan of the key changes, and I've never liked MLWSWY live very much, but if that's what she needs to do, then by all means do it.

Yeah, I'm hoping this time around she's at the top of her vocal game for promo.
Another thing she did on this tour was drop Whyawannabringmedown from the setlist after she had the one show she had to cancel. That song had to just be brutal on her voice. Seven Nation Army was a much better showcase for her rock side with less cost to her voice.

I think she is usually fine vocally on her promo's (except sometimes overseas gets her worn down with the schedule, and her voice goes when she is tired) but I've always noticed that Kelly's first few performances of songs are never as good as after she's lived them awhile. Then she ad libs, and flourishes here and there and makes them better later down the road. If she could tour the songs, then go on promo, we'd be all set, and everyone would be wowed and go buy whatever she is selling

@rev17 addicteds avatar is kelly from 2007-2008 so she wasn't only beautiful 2004 lol and kelly still looks ridicilously beautiful now as well.
Just because you gain weight doesn't make you ugly lol.
Moving on.
It's a shame duet isn't with miranda i like her voice. But i'm still certain the duet is with chris.
And lol i think i can include britney on the duet list now considering she's not that crazy anymore so kelly can probally bare with her xD.

So sad that the duet isn't with Miranda Lambert. That duet would have rocked my socks off. Unless Miranda was told to not say anything about the duet to keep it a surprise. :O I don't know if I can see a Britney/Kelly duet happening, though. A Carrie/Kelly duet I can totally see. I tell you one thing, it is going to be hilarious looking back on all of this if all along it has been Chris Daughtry.

In all honesty I'd rather have her duet with Cook or Kris then Daughtry.

Eh, not big on Cook or Kris. I'd be happy with Daughtry as long as it doesn't derail the theme/mood/sound of the album. He's got a great voice, they sound great together, and get along. Plus, though this wouldn't be worth passing up a duet with anyone, there's no way anyone can say she's pandering for a hit because she's a bigger star than he is.
