www.alternativeaddiction.com/musicnews/article/1714/Ryan-Stars-Debut-Album-Due-Out-In-JulyRyan Star's Debut Album Due Out In July By: Chad | Source: Alternative Addiction Wednesday, May 05, 2010 Ryan Star confirmed during an interview with Alternative Addiction earlier this week that his long awaited new album 11:59 is due out in July. The album, which has been delayed several times since it was first announced last year, seems to finally have a confirmed release. “It’s looking like July of this year, I can now finally say, July,” Star told Alternative Addiction. “With an album title like 11:59 you have to assume it was going to take this long, right?” The album’s more solidified release schedule is due in large part to the success of the single ‘Breathe’ which has picked up substantial radio play in since debuting as a single earlier this year. The video for the song also debuted last week on VH1’s Top 20 Countdown. “‘Breathe’ was the one song on the album that I didn’t want to over think,” Star said of the process to write the hit song. “The lyrics and the sentiment was so pure, not that the others weren’t, but this one in particular was.” Star recently finished a short run of dates with Green River Ordinance, and several headlining dates earlier this week. More tour dates are expected to be announced soon on Star’s website at www.rstar.net

musicremedy.com/r/ryan-star/album/1159-6412.htmlRyan Star has announced the release of his much-anticipated new album. “11:59” – which includes the hit single, “Breathe” – will arrive everywhere on August 3rd. Ryan will mark the release with a hometown headline performance at The Filmore at Irving Plaza in New York City. In the meantime, “Breathe” is a breakthrough smash for Star. The track is poised to hit the top 20 at Hot AC radio outlets nationwide, while its poignant companion video clip has just gone into rotation at VH1. What’s more, “Breathe” recently debuted on the network’s VSPOT Top 20 Video Countdown. “Breathe” – which can also be viewed online at Star’s own rstar.net – sees the acclaimed rocker addressing the rising tide of unemployment in the US, performing on the streets of New York among various real people, from all walks of life, who are currently unemployed. A dedicated website, located at www.breathe4jobs.com, enables potential employers to contact the diverse individuals featured in the video. Hailed by Billboard as a “heartfelt, slow-burning…power-rock anthem,” “Breathe” has also been featured in recent promotional spots for such popular TV series as Fox’s American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. Produced by Grammy Award-winner Matt Serletic (matchbox twenty, Collective Soul) with additional production by Howard Benson (Daughtry, My Chemical Romance), “11:59” sees Star seamlessly melding traditional rock elements with captivating rhythms and resonant narratives. Thoughtfully and meticulously crafted, the album highlights the Dix Hills, NY-native’s stripped-bare vocal style and high-octane energy level. A committed road warrior, Star will herald the release of “11:59” with a cross-country radio promo tour, including on-air performances and concert appearances. A full-scale U.S. tour itinerary will be announced in the coming weeks. Star made an explosive debut last year with the much-admired “LAST TRAIN HOME.” The digital EP is highlighted by the award-winning track, “Brand New Day,” featured as the main theme to Fox’s hit series, Lie To Me. The song recently earned Star a BMI Television Award, honoring the composers of music featured in the past year’s top-grossing films, top-rated prime-time network television series, and highest-ranking cable network programs. What’s more, “LAST TRAIN HOME” features “Right Now,” which soundtracked promotions from the NFL, NBC, ESPN, and the History Channel. The EP also includes “This Could Be The Year,” which was included in WWE’s 25 Years of WrestleMania special as well as two commercials aired during this year’s highly rated Super Bowl festivities. Star first drew national attention as a member of the band Stage. Upon embarking on a solo career, he honed his skills performing in clubs across New York, including Joe’s Pub and Rockwood Music Hall. He continued to build a fervent fan following as a MySpace Featured Artist, as well as by competing on CBS’ reality series, Rock Star: Supernova. Ryan’s stellar songwriting and natural-born showmanship have earned him acclaim from a variety of publications, including Newsday, which recently hailed “Last Train Home” for taking “the drama and vocal power Star has conjured for years and (welding) it to an undeniable rock hook.” Newsday also praised “Right Now” as “a massive rock anthem signaling Star’s pending arrival.”

What's more, the album -- which features the hit single, "Breathe" -- is also a digital sensation, peaking at #2 on iTunes' "Top Pop Albums" tally, and debuting at top 15 success on iTunes' overall sales chart. Star -- who celebrated the album's release with a sold out show at New York's world famous Irving Plaza -- is currently on tour alongside Thriving Ivory, with dates continuing through the end of the month. From there, Star will pair off with singer/songwriter Justin Nozuka for a much anticipated run of West Coast shows, beginning September 12th at Portland, Oregon's Aladdin Theater. What's more, Star will join multi-platinum recording group Train for a string of dates, which kick off September 16th at the INB Performing Arts Center in Spokane, WA (see attached below). Recently named as "iTunes Single of the Week," "Breathe" is shaping up to be Star's biggest single to date, scoring top 15 airplay at Hot AC radio outlets nationwide. In addition, the track's poignant companion video clip is in rotation at VH1, where it recently hit the network's VSPOT Top 20 Video Countdown. "Breathe" -- which can also be viewed online at Star's own rstar.net -- sees the acclaimed rocker addressing the rising tide of unemployment in the US, performing on the streets of New York among various real people, from all walks of life, who are currently unemployed. Furthermore, Star himself has made a number of high-profile appearances to herald the release of "11:59," including interviews and live performances on two prominent New York radio shows, Z100's Elvis Duran and the Morning Show and WPLJ's The Big Show with Scott & Todd. Ryan is also slated to appear on an upcoming installment of CBS's The Early Show - Saturday Edition, slated for August 28th. Produced by Grammy Award-winner Matt Serletic (matchbox twenty, Collective Soul) and Howard Benson (Daughtry, My Chemical Romance), "11:59" sees Star seamlessly melding traditional rock elements with captivating rhythms and resonant narratives. Thoughtfully and meticulously crafted, the album highlights the Dix Hills, NY-native's stripped-bare vocal style and high-octane energy level. "11:59" has quickly earned copious critical celebration, with USA Today hailing it as "ambitious, well-crafted pop-rock." Newsday praised "the sharpness of (Star's) pop-rock visions... upbeat, live-in-the-moment spirit... (and) memorable melodies," adding that "'11:59' shows Star's time has come." Star made an explosive debut with 2009's much-admired digital EP, "LAST TRAIN HOME," highlighted by the award-winning track, "Brand New Day." All things considered, I think #31 is a very good debut for Ryan! Very proud to have helped with that!
Hopefully they will release "Start a Fire" soon. I feel like if they release it to CHR, it'll smash!

The bonus track "Gonna Make it Right" is pretty awesome, as is the rest of the album. Or at least buy "Start a Fire" "Losing Your Memory" and "11:59" IMO - some of the best tracks on the album. (I'm obviously a little biased but there really isn't a song on there that I don't like. )

Ryan's van, trailer, and all music equipment was stolen in LA last week. This is happening so much now - 2 other bands had it happen in other parts of the country on the same day! thecomet.com/posts/ryan_stars_sacrificeRyan Star Makes No Small Sacrifice
Singer/songwriter Ryan Star is committed to living his life as a musician—and with that, there comes a sacrifice to the rock gods. A recent act of theft reminds Star there is a balance in the world.
Since I was a child, I have committed my life to being a musician. I miss out on so many personal and family experiences over and over again in exchange for being out in the world and playing my music for people.
The consistent thing that gets me through the tougher days is meeting and feeling all the passion from the people I meet through my music. The idea of “strangers” means something different to me than most and it is beautiful. All of this makes it somehow ok that I miss my personal life in exchange for my “secret life” out here on the road as a music man.
A few nights ago in Los Angeles, my van, trailer and all of our musical instruments and gear was stolen. It stung for a second in a predictable numbing fashion, but over the years, I have learned what most of us know, which is that things are just things and they are all replaceable.
The meaning of life does not lie in possessions but the experiences and love. Although some things do have sentimental value, these things are just tools. For it is us who are the instruments of what we do and who we are. This gross action of theft reminds me that there is a balance in the world and we are reminded of it every day.
An oil spill vs. Global Green, bullies vs. a volunteer tutor, Usher vs. Pearl Jam. They are necessary battles of love vs. hate and it is only a sin when the balance is shifted the wrong way.
We are all agents of love fighting in a negative and positive world.
In a way, I can justify this act as a sacrifice to the rock gods for smooth sailing from here out. Still hoping they will recover at least some of their gear, but it's not looking good. Ryan and his keyboardist Dallin Applebaum are playing a few unplugged sets with Train on the west coast this week.
