Britney can dance. She can dance. Its funny how peoples views on a person change just because they make a little mistakes in their life. pRE -KFED Drama. Wasnt Britney the most on demand performer out there. Didnt she had the most successful career of all artists in her time?? Look at her VMA performances. She has some of the most memorable VMA performances out of any other artist.

I am rooting for Lady Gaga and Rihanna.
I think christina Aguilera's new video will be nominated too though, but I think Lady Gaga will win and get some payback for losing the big categories last year.

she didnt lose any BIG categories she won the ones that she deserved. No way in hell she couldve beaten Single Ladies in any award no shape or form. Best New Artists she deserved even though I was kinda pulling for Drake. This year seems to be her year. Shes the frontrunner or contender but I think Rihanna has a shot of scooping 5 nominations. That is, if they use the same categories as last year which i hate. Rihanna's chances are in: Best Pop Video -- Rude Boy Best Dancing In a Video - Rude Boy (if shes lucky hahaha) i would love to see "Ride" win this Best Hip Hop Video ---- Run this Town or Hard (preferably run this Town) Video of the year ---- Russian Roulette or Rude Boy or Run This Town Best Female video - Rude Boy or Russian Roulette then the technical awards........................... Special effects - Rude Boy best Editing ---- Russian Roulette best Art Direction - Rude Boy best Cinematography - Hard or Russain Roulette

Last year was the highest rated VMAs in a long time! Gaga and Bee really brought in the viewers! Or rather, the heavily hyped Michael Jackson Tribute did.

She has had a great career its just that she has been able to maintain it.

MTV doesn't even show videos anymore so this seems rather stupid IMO. They should partner up with VEVO and have VEVO air it online as well. Excellent point.

Whether she can dance or not really is opinion so you have to respect that but yeah she has memorable performances whether you like her or not. They are plenty of great performers who don't have memorable performances so it is not easy. I am sure Justin Bieber will perform. I hope Gaga and Beyonce do not perform...pointless. Gaga should perform a medley of her current single at that moment with Bad romance. If she is releasing in the fall maybe the new single of the album. Also, if Britney is releasing in the fall she should debut it at the VMAs. Usher should perform B.O.B. Katy Perry Rihanna Miley Eminem Luda/Drake one of the other A rock group Lady Antebellum (sp.) Kesha but it could go either way kanye west...he will redeem himself Taylor if she has a new album to promote. No Christina, beyonce, BEP,T.I., Jay Z, Ciara, Carrie Underwood, Jay Sean, Sade, or Maxwell. I love most of them but I think this list would work better

Yeah...you have to understand that it is a s.tan posting about this so of course they will believe Gaga and Beyonce were solely responsible. They were not in prior years, though ;) Pink slayed and was the performance of the night just like the Grammy's and I would argue that there was definitely hype around Gaga's performance not so much Beyonce's. Kanye/Taylor/Pink made the show and Gaga and Beyonce were not the reasons that the show brought in (how many more viewers...what were the ratings).

the people that I wanna see perform are the acts that I think help defined the year in music. I absolutely DONT want britney to perform plus I dont think she should. Only if her album is coming out in October or really early november. Either way I dont want to see her perform. If shes gonna debut a single do it at like the AMAs not the VMAs. Its too cliche. the artists that i WANt to see perform are: Rihanna Lady GaGa Drake Ke$ha a rock group (preferably The Script) Miley Cyrus (shes never had a VMA performance this could be her debut) B.o.B & bruno Mars Ciara!!!!!!

Also why would anybody think B would perform this year? She perform 03,06 & 09 Its clearly a Pattern. It depends when she'll release the next album but I'm certain the next time we see B perform on that stage will be 2012

B won't perform just for 15 secs. Even though those 15 secs are the best part of the song.

As opposed to 4 minutes of spastic dancing while backup singers sing the choruses? That's called a smart performer. The major vocal parts are in the verses, the major dance routines are during the choruses, letting backups sing the choruses is the perfect way of giving a performance. I bet you don't have any performing experience at all. And the acts that sing live and dance during choruses?

Has an artist perform back to back before? Britney did for 1999,2000, and 2001? So did NSYNC I believe.

Not denying that beyonce can bring it ratings but who was checking for her...I know the hype for Gaga's first MTV VMA performance was alot greater. Picking her at the height of her fame. If anyone would be credited...it should be her. This is not like "the MJ tribute" or "Will britney (2007) boom or bust :'(?" where there is a strong indication where the major hype is coming from... so Beyonce is not the only person that can bring in diversity is my point. Plenty of people can and have. My vote however is that no one person really is the sole rather the main person and to me Taylor and Gaga are the ones even though I think Beyonce's performance out of the three slayed.

We cannot pinpoint who drew the viewers in. I don't think it has to do with the Kanye/Beyonce/Taylor controversy either. Beyonce has always draw viewers in, and the fact that two of the biggest stars of the year appeared the same night with performances to boot (GaGa and Taylor), it was sure bring in high ratings. Heck, I just watched last year's VMA to see if Britney was gonna win an award or make a late appearance, so don't tell me no Britney fan went on to see her

There's no doubt here that Lady Gaga will lead this years pack of nominees. Between "Bad Romance" and "Telephone", she'll be racking in the nominations.

Does MTV limit the amount of videos each artist submits to each category?
I'm just wondering if Lady GaGa will submit both "Bad Romance" and "Telephone" to Video of the Year? Or does she have to pick only 1 to submit? Anyone know?
