Must be since last September(?) - between "Lovegame" and "Paparazzi", GaGa was out of the Top 10, I believe. Since "Paparazzi", though, she's been a mainstay.

I have a feeling no matter the quality of the next single, it will go Top 10. Radio will be STARVING for new GaGa by the new year. I expect HUGE first week plays.

But for sure GaGa won't disappoint with the quality of her lead single on her next album.

But for sure GaGa won't disappoint with the quality of her lead single on her next album. I don't understand why people say this. So many fans have said "they won't disappoint" and then they do and flop. P!nk has never disappointed me, personally, as far as singles go. However, there always has to be a first time for everything, and while I'm hopeful she won't, I feel that day has to come at some point. Truth is, anything can happen. I really hope she doesn't, and I believe in her to not disappoint us. You just can't always say something is for sure.

I doubt Gaga would have a low quality lead single from the next album but she could, and I'm not talking about lame buzz singles. If you look to the past, many artists have had disappointing lead singles. Every artist excluding ones with one or two songs will have a lower quality single at some point.

Well I know for a fact that the next album is sure to debut at #1 with big numbers too. Im predicting a 300 k first week sales.

Assuming that the single is of good quality, I'd probably say that because it's Gaga and because she's had about 6 months without a big hit, that new song will probably jump to the top five within a month. If you look at how well all of Gaga's previous singles have done, even the not as good ones, have performed, a new one's sure to smash.

Idk, maybe y'all are ignoring her popularity or something for some reason. She had one of the biggest debut eras ever, so it's pretty safe to assume she will open with a very strong amount of sales on her next effort. She's the biggest thing in the music industry right now, and has already established a huge loyal fan base. I predict #1 single and album for whatever she puts out next. Even if the single was only 'as good' as her others, it'd still reach the top.

Especially if you have the chops to make one, and GaGa does. The only way she wouldn't have a successful lead single for her next album is if she purposefully makes an "artistic departure" ala Russian Roulette or Never Again.

I'm not saying GaGa doesn't have the chops to make a great song. I'm just saying, don't be so sure she's going to do so. Plenty of talented artists have released shit. Acting like there's no way she'll ever fall is just ignorant.

Her fanbase is pretty big and pretty devoted. I mean, look at her ticket sales. She went from being a newcomer, to practically being with some of the 10+ year players in a year.

I really hope she has a few more rhythmic/urban songs on the record as I want her to get a bit more airplay there. I just hope she doesn't go for the risky artistic lead single

I hope she evolves her sound. Changing it up too much now could be too dangerous.

She actually writes and produces her own material, so she is in control. That's the difference between her and most other female pop stars. The fact that she is in control gives me more confidence that she will make a quality product (and also the fact that she knows she has to make POP singles, not "artistic" ones")

I got what you wrote. I also never said GaGa has the "singing chops". I am fully aware that she writes her own music. Yes, I am also confident that she will make a quality product. However, just because she is talented doesn't mean she will never do something subpar or disappointing. Its going to happen eventually.

Off topic to your discussion, but I want Gaga to write a song that is truly meaningful and can actually rank up there with my fave songs "Mean", "Maybe". She has yet to even come close. Carry on

It's true that Gaga has written nothing buy mind-numbing pop songs thus far, but it's worked so far.

Well, we already had a taste of her new album when she performed in the Today Show, although I think You and I is more a Speechless type of song in the album... but who knows, right? I'm a bit sad that radio has not picked up any follow-up to Alejandro and that radio is not supporting Ale's longevity either. I was waiting for her weekly spin losses to be lower, and now she is about to be passed by Taio Cruz on her way down 8 13 LADY GAGA Alejandro 5435 6513 -1078 31.703 10 14 TAIO CRUZ Break Your Heart f/L... 5434 6186 -752 33.411

Really? you burned on Poker Face and Bad Romance? Those are anthems and will never die to me. I actually got a bit bored of Alejandro though, I think it had the least longevity for me out of her singles thus far... Btw, it takes alot of intuitive skill to create perfect pop songs like GaGa does. It's a craft and takes just as much effort to hone & pull off as writing something more 'deep and meaningful' imo.. she knows how to work a pop hook and make something so infectious that people will eat it up, but that isn't to say it's completely meaningless. She can write a serious song if she wants to, but I like that many of her songs are about having fun, and living life..

Really? you burned on Poker Face and Bad Romance? Those are anthems and will never die to me. Yea they did. But Paparazzi and Telephone burned even more Still love LoveGame even though everyone hates it and I was jamming to Just Dance in the car earlier Btw, it takes alot of intuitive skill to create perfect pop songs like GaGa does. Yea Gaga really is a master at writing catchy tunes, which is why I want her to try something different

I just want her to show more range. It's like she's scared s**tless to release a non-uptempo song. Alejandro was a waste of a single, IMO. Speechless would have been a risk, but it would have probably paid off way more than Alejandro. Also? She needs to lighten up. She's not curing cancer or doing anything monumental. She's just singing fluffy pop songs, so why the dark and dour facial expressions and videos? Why so serious?

You think 'Telephone' was dark and serious? ???
Anyways, it's her Fame Monster era, so I hardly expect her to be grinning about being in a Bad Romance, alot of the songs have sad/serious undertones and meanings actually. The Fame era was alot more fun and bubbly if you recall. And I imagine her next one is going to be more toward that direction as well.
