Not at all. Of course speculations can be made for several reasons, but it MIGHT be a bit too premature to foreshadow the entire fate of the cd. @chrislightylet's go about to play Mariah Carey song for some Coca Cola execs let's bring out the elves and festive stuff....

This guy is still Mariah's agent? I thought she would've fired him by now.

Susan Boyle had her 15 minutes of fame. She is old news already. I don't think she's a threat to Mariah.

But wasn't she just with...Pepsi? lol If the contract is up then I guess she can do whatever she wants. Yeah, that's what I'm wondering. I also wonder what the cover will look like. We all know what will happen if it's a slimmed up airbrushed Mimi front and center.

The pepsi thing must have been way back in 2006 though, right??
The cover was shot back in Spring (according to David LaChapelle).....although having said that, I would be fully prepared for airbrushing nonetheless

I hope she doesn't recreate the All I Want For Christmas Is You 2000 alternate single cover, LOL:

It hasn't even been a year since her album was released, and I wouldn't count all those old people out that will go buy her album for Christmas, or family members buying it for their grandmothers, etc.

Mariah will hold her own, she's in a league of her own, Susan has nothing to do with Mimi.

The Jessica album sold less than 700k as of last year, plus it was released in 2004, not 2010. At this point Josh Groban seems to be the exception for Xmas albums, not the norm. Mariah's Xmas album can be very well ignored if Susan Boyle's becomes huge, plus like other said, with Mariah people can just download AIWFCIY new version and be done with it. It does'nt matter when Jessica's album came out it's still a christmas album, which u said don't do well, which is simply not true. Most christmas albums start to rechart during the holiday season, and others do quite well. Susan has nothing to do with Mariah. Mariah is a huge star and will hold her own. So that has no merit. I can't stand when people act like it's just room for one person. We are talking about Mariah here. Alot of people will be still selling well with Susan. Just like the original AIWFCIY, if the song is amazing people will support it period.

She's such a huge star who barely cracked 500k with a new studio album, a top 10 hit 1st single and loads of promotion. The problem isn't about there being room for just one person, but room for Mariah at all at this point.

Why would a Susan Boyle Christmas album doing well take sales away from Mariah? If people are feeling the Mariah album, they'll get it, same for SuBo. For some reason, I don't think there's going to be that much overlap in their audiences anyway- Will pointed out that Mariah's audience skews younger these days, which cannot really be said for Susan Boyle, obviously.

She had a segment on Oprah. And, normally she'll have the whole show to herself to promote. She didn't pop on 106th the week of. And, when she started back on promo it was highly disjointed. People kill me with that. Look at her promo for Memoirs versus her startup promo for E=MC, Emancipation, Charm, and Rainbow. It was half ass at best.

A lot of people seem to be very confident she is going to outsell her last album or even her last two albums. There have been some big Christmas releases in the past few years but it seems like most of those albums were released by artists who were selling very well with regular albums too. How often is it that an artist has a Christmas album come out and sell much better than their regular albums? That seems like more the exception than the rule

It'll be lower than the Chipmunk's Christmas opus how about that? She should just pack it up, and keep trying to get pregnant. Just leave it all behind. I mean why not when we have Katy Perry and Rhianna. Who get played on radio non stop, but can't sell an album to save their lives.

d) IS IT WALTER AFNAASIEF ON BOARD??? PLEASE TELL ME YES!!! :'( Yes, Walter A. is involved in the project. Actually, Mariah is cheating on Nick with him, and there are strong rumors that he's the father of 2 of the triplets Mariah's carrying. I love you. Nice to see Chamillionaire getting work. Wat.

The Coco-Cola thing IS NOT TRUE. Ppl need to stop following that idiot Chris Lighty on twitter and assuming anything. Here's his tweet correcting himself:
Update: Chris Lighty, just minutes ago on Twitter: "I didn't say MC has a coke commercial!!!!!!" He also told us that he "just was playing music nothing solid."
Ppl stop following this dope. He's an idiot.

I just think a lot of silly unfounded things are being said here. We don't know how it'll sell, because we don't even know what's ON the record. All we know is that it's Christmas music. I'm not trying to say it'll be a 5 million seller or something, but I'm likewise not convinced it's going to be a big flop. And I still think Susan Boyle has nothing to do with it.

Did Pulse exist way back then? I remember being more disappointed that she pulled out of all the appearances, than in the performance of the music. And then there was the movie. I think the album is actually a decent Mariah album, if a bit unfinished sounding in spots. The movie....well yeah.

All I know is that if the material is great, the album will sell. So I'm hoping she delivers.
