1. Leading into the Friday night airing they played Bruce Springfield and the display read 1984 but it was the 1978 original not the remixed hit 80s version. Isn't this an 80s station? 2. They finally got the chart date, 2/7/87, right but the display for Baker's 'Rapture read 82? 3. Mark said there were three Bridge singles omitting Joel's Baby Grand. 4. They played the #14 jingle going into the fifteen tune. 5. Oh Mark said countdown Love You Down was following up first single 'Sheila. RFTW followed Sheila with their Digital Display. And RFTW had Bubbled Under before Sheila.

After a rough week, did things go better with 1/28/84?
1. Several times this was referred to as the 1/27/84 chart. Then in their ever changing definition of a hit, Mark said Joanna was the first in a few years by Kool and the Gang?? 2. I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues as Alan said the countdown song was the first to feature the classic Elt lineup since 1975. That would be I'm Still Standing. 3. Alan said countdown 'Reveal got Debarge going... they had been going with two recent top 40s. Then he said Break My Stride was Wilder's debut even though he previously charted with Work So Hard.

Casey lite played the correct hit version of She's Got A Way oh, they did. I didn’t remember the live version sounding like that & the wrong version came up on my Shazam. Fixed! Wait, They skipped "Under Pressure" on the countdown. Did someone from Queen say something offensive just like rapper Ye (aka Kanye West) did recently? Not that I know of, but they’ve accidentally put songs in the wrong order before (played #36 before #37, for example). That’s the first time they’ve skipped a song outright for literally no reason. Since Nina outroed Under Pressure it's a quality control issue. Whatever intern compiles the countdown just forgot to insert it and apparently no one associated with Casey lite bothers to listen to the final product before airing.

But wait there's more:
7. As posted in another thread the 1/23/82 show skipped #32 Under Pressure. Not fixed as of Sat AM airing.

Onto 1/23/82
1. In their ever changing definition of a hit, Mark said countdown Key Largo would also be a country chart biggie... it peaked at #50 there. Then in her weekly content screw up Nina said Shannon would record his Sea of Love cover in 1982... Del's first charted at the end of 1981. 2. Nina credited Diamond with ten #1s really eleven (3 pop, 8 A/C) 3. Alan said Milsap was one away from his peak. 'World would peak at #20 on the prior panel and would be there with an anchor on this chart. Then he said 35 country #1s was third to Conway and Strait leaving out 38 for Hag 4. Nina said countdown 'Easy was the third and final single from Time Exposure. That honor would go to LRBs followup Man On Your Mind. 5. OMG, after Alan said this was the "1/22/82" chart Mark said Newton's 'Thing would be on the pop charts for 40 weeks... really 24. Was he confused with Paul Davis, played a couple songs ago, 1978 I Go Crazy?? 6. OMG, Alan peaked Centerfold at #3. Was he confused with this being the number three song for 1982??

This week it was all about 1/18/86:
1. Mark Goofman got the March 8th peak of Silent Running correct but ID'd this chart as "1/17/86"?? 2. In their ever changing definition of a hit, Alan said countdown Tarzan Boy would be Baltimora's only one. Followup Living In The Background would graze the bottom of the Hot 100. Then he referred to Baltimora as a band out of Italy. On the real thing from 2/22/86 Casey pointed out Baltimora was an alias for (Irish) Jimmy McShane. 3. In her weekly chart screw up Nina placed Sleeping Bag at #32, really #37 then in her weekly content screw up, she said Tarzan was from Turtles III.... that was the 1993 rerelease. 4. Mark peaked Go Home at #2, really #10

The 1977 Yearend show part one regular is 03:19:13 The 1977 Yearend show part one Supersized is 03:24:12 adding on 5 minutes The 1977 Yearend show part two regular is 03:21:28 The 1977 Yearend show part two Supersized is 03:28:12 adding on 6 minutes 48 sec. But this one dropped a for a few on #40-39 so I had to replace that with the regular and I don't know how it affected the time. The Supersized #40-39 segment ran 7:40

Let's take a look at Jan 5, 1980 with Alan and Nina only, no Mark Goofman
1. Nina started off this "1/4/80" chart by saying Magnum PU was the highest rated TV show of 1980?? That was Dallas, Tom and gang didn't even debut until late that year. 2. In her weekly content screw up Nina called ABBAs countdown song Chiquita 3. Alan said deleted Cruise had it's lifeboat attached to dying Yacht Rock???? Yacht rock was just leaving port, we were still several weeks away from being introduced to the genre chart "Captain" as Casey lite has referred to Chris Cross in the past. 4. Alan dropped Still from #3, really 7-5

Let's check in with the 12/21/85 show:
1. It's the "12/20/85" chart according to Mark and Alan 2. Alan said Face the Face was the 3rd release from Townshend's album, it was the first single. 3. When mentioning Sidewalk Talk artists Nina left someone out named Madonna. Then in her weekly chart screw up she held Sleeping Bag at #10, really 10-8 4. Mark said countdown 7th Wave was the 2nd Stinger solo stingle, it was really the 3rd top 40 from his album. 5. Mark called him JM. At this point he was still being billed as John Cougar Mellencamp. Then the display just showed Dionne omitting Friends Elt, Gladys and Stevie 6. Alan said I Miss You was the #3 song of 1985, really 1986 7. In her weekly content screw up Nina said Simple Minds followup to breakthru chart topping Alive & Kicking was Alive & Kicking?? Then she ^4 really 4-7

1. Nina correctly pointed out Ride Sally Ride went into space during the countdown year 1983, She wrongly used this tidbit during other years in the past. Unfortunately it didn't keep her from calling him JM. At this point he was still being billed as John Cougar Mellencamp. 2. In her weekly chart screw up Nina ^ Debarge eight, really 26-33 then she placed H&S at #18, really #15 for Huey Lewis 3. Alan said countdown album was the 80s first for Yes. But they'd already had several releases in that decade including studio Drama

Did this 12/2/89 panel go smoothly or did the VJs slog along?
1. Holy bleep what was wrong w/ Prince and Sheena's 'Arms? It sounded like a wrapped cassette copy. 2. In her weekly content screw up Nina said 'Mind was a stand alone single by the New Kids. It was actually the flip of Hangin' Tough 3. Listen to Her Heart? Then Mark compounded his misstep when he said it was the 2nd single from Roxette's album. It was the 3rd top 40 from Look Sharp 4. Mark and Alan both referred to this week as the 12/1/89 chart. Then the display for Kix read 88? 5. Mark called it Pump Up The Jams

Is this week's bonus 11/28/81 gravy or a turkey??
1. Mark said Smoky Mountain Rain peaked in the top 20 (really #24) and began pop crossover success for Milsap. But Ronnie had already had a #16 pop 'Song in 1977. 2. The display for Steal the Night read "Steve" Woods (82) 3. Nina said it was the 11/27/81 chart. Then in their ever changing definition of hit, Alan said Oh No was the final w/ Lionel. Why You Wanna Try Me was a mid charter. Then he said Commodores album included Lady? It was Lady (You Bring Me Up). The prior was Lionel's hit w/Gambler a year before. 4. Alan peaked L&L at #9, really #6 for the other Stevie and Don 5. Mark placed Rockford Files in 1976, it really Posted in 75 for Mike 6. Mark said H&O were bumped from the top but the guys were a couple "weeks" away from returning the favor. Long couple weeks, try 1/30/82 7. Alan said the Foreigner was Phyicalled out of the top by ONJ and the guy's 'Eyes. I Can't Go For That! 8. In her weekly content screw up Nina called 75s J Geils song Must Have Been Lost

Let's review 11/21/87:
1. Nina started the show saying this was 11/20/87 chart and #40 Casanova was #4?! 2. Hide the Women so they don't have to hear Alan make the false claim Animal was the first single off of Def Leppard's album! 3. Nina said Johnnie Ray had his Mind Set On You?? OMG, it was written by James Ray 4. In her weekly chart screw up Nina dropped 'Sin four, really 15-9 for PSB. This is after Alan said Jets were inching up. In my Casey voice.... Jets are leaping eight notches 29-37 this week with I Do You 5. Alan included Bobbie Gentry as an I Think I'm A Clone Now co-writer?? I think he meant Shondell's writer Bo Gentry... OMG!!

Then he said this was the last Elt album w/ Dee, Davy, and Nigel... of course they returned for Reg 3. In her weekly content screw up, Nina placed Yes We Can Can in 1972, really 1973 for the 'Sisters, then OMG, she said Prince played Purple Rain on Grammys in "204"??

1. Mark included Rachel Sweet as a Shadows co-writer, sorry, she wasn't unless her pen name was DL Byron. Then he peaked Benatar at #15, really #13. 2. In her weekly content screw up Nina said ABCs album had three top 40s, with countdown Look of Love being the 3rd single. It was the first of two Lexicon top 40s 3. Mark gave Survivor an American Chartbeat for 17 weeks, really 16 4. Nina served Champagne with Love Come Down but at this point the bubbly bottle had gone dry as she was being billed as just Evelyn King. 5. Mark said America's last top 40 was 1979, really 1976

It's the "10/31/86" chart, according to Nina, and apparently no Mark Goofman tonight.
1. Alan's intro went from #37 to #35 skipping #36 Bangles 2. Alan placed Idol's 'Lover in 1985 and Bell's 'Lover in 1968 (charted 1969) 3. Alan again claimed this was the 10/31/86 chart, then, OMG, he said Steinberg and Kelly had previously written for Lauper but she didn't Drive All Night and get Unconditional Love until 1989!!

Coming outta Friday night's Casey lite the 4 four songs: we got Benatar's Best Shot, the Pointer's were So Shy again, George Benson and that Drivin' Wascally Rabbitt! All four just played on the countdown, two within the last hour. OMG!! The interns just playing tricks seeing if anyone would notice, right??
