J Lo “I’m Real” and R Kelly “Ignition,” though the original versions weren’t really pushed as main singles. Even though it never said remix when they charted, I Took a Pill in Ibiza, You Know You Like It, E.T. and Bad Blood come to mind. Wasn't the Cedric Gervais remix of "Summertime Sadness" the one that got promoted in radio?

Her career launched at the same time as Adele's. I thought theirs would be a rivalry. Adele won BBC Sound of 2007, but Duffy's "Mercy" IIRC was a bigger hit than "Chasing Pavements". Anyway it'd be interesting to see what she comes up with after a prolonged absence and a drastic change in the general soundscape.

As per announcement in the Mediabase Pop Chart thread, recurrency rules are suspended for 12/22/2019 and 12/29/2019 charts.

One last (?) recurrent sweep before the holiday freeze. (Am I right that the chart ending 12/22 is the first official week of holiday freeze, or is the 29th?)

Little Talks - Of Monsters and Men, 38 weeks 5. Best Day of My Life - American Authors, 38 weeks 2016-April 20191. Perfect - Ed Sheeran, 41 weeks 2. I Like Me Better - Luav. 40 weeks 2. Shape of You - Ed Sheeran, 39 weeks I saw Hot AC Archiver's post containing list of songs with most weeks in the Mediabase Hot AC. Since this post was made back in April, I believe these songs should be added to the list: High Hopes - Panic! at the Disco, 40 weeks Eastside - Benny Blanco with Halsey & Khalid, 41 weeks Sucker - Jonas Brothers, 40 weeks Did I miss anything? Haha.

Is this sampling some track? I can hear a bit of Blink 182's "First Date" on the chorus part.

^ Wow, none from "It Won't be Soon before Long" hit #1. I would have expected "Make Me Wonder" to have at least made it.
And I'd suppose MLJ to Sugar means that they hit 8 consecutive #1's during that span? Then the streak was broken by "This Summer's Gonna Hurt like a Motherf*cker"?

Wow at the spin gap between #47 and #48!
And BEP is about to have their first Top 40 in 8 years (and 2nd without Fergie). It'll be great to see them have another hit, and eventually be amongst acts that get a pop radio #1 in 3 different decades. (Though technically 2020s doesn't start until 1/1/2021, but still.)

What songs have gone recurrent in Hot AC, but made a re-entry later on?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can think of "F*ck You" and "Shallow" (as they did so in Pop).

^ According to Billboard, "Where R U Now" didn't enter Hot AC chart. Here are his 6 songs that graced Hot AC:

Kinda reminds me a bit of U2's "Elevation". And he's actually sounding a bit like Bono at some parts.

Finally, Alessia made it. And at least "Trampoline" and "Beautiful People" both regained their respective bullets.

Can "Easier" curb its losses? It'll be a pity to see it fall short of recurrency. But it should be safe this Sunday for its 19th week.
And I hope Alessia hangs on there in the next couple of weeks. PM, YNTCD bowing out of the Top 40 (and possibly "Easier" sigh and "Small Talk"), as well as "Speechless" and "Talk" going recurrent, should help it enter the Top 40.

I'd go with "Best Part of Me" as the next single. It's around this time 5 years ago when "Thinking Out Loud" started getting some traction, and 2 years ago when "Perfect" charted its course.

Where is Halsey's "Graveyard" amongst the list of highest debuting songs inside the Top 40 this year?

Wow, it's been like a decade since her last studio album. Hope she's really back onboard as a singer.
(And man! "I Wanna be With You" brings me back to my high school days.)

The song is slightly reminiscent of "Colors" IMO. Alas, that song was released ahead of its time. Could have been a Top 20 or even Top 10 had it been released after "Closer".

#9 for YNTCD for a few weeks. If I recall correctly, "ME!" reached #5. That doesn't match the consecutive #1s that started 1989 or the #2 hit followed by a #1 hit that kickstarted Red, but it's about on par with reputation which started out with a short-lived #1 and then "...Ready for It?" crapped out at #11. It's much better than Speak Now, which landed zero top 10 hits on the format IIRC. I'll forever be salty that both Mine and Back to December missed top 10 in Pop Also, go Lover! And "The Story of Us" peaking at #21.

His tracks this era have yet to grow on me. I'm waiting for his "The Way I Am" (which too bad underperformed).

As an aside, apparently there's another song released today with the same title - from Lost Frequencies and Mokita.

Plus, maybe him having 2 songs in the Top 10 (plus 2 or 3 still having pretty decent recurrent airplay) could be a factor for "Right Back" starting off "slow".

Rock on the Net does its yearly charts such that a song's entire chart run is all accounted for in just a single year - the year when the song peaked. (Before I discovered Mediabase, this and Rick Dees were my go-to pop chart haha.)

Watch this be the next single from this project - and likely mirror how "Thinking Out Loud" and "Perfect" became hits during the holiday season.
