David got to hang out with a bunch of Nashville songwriters/artists tonight and had a great time.
I agree NotEmoJ - I would be disappointed too.

I love this interview line too: "There’s a certain emotion that you work on trying to get into your voice all these years, and I feel like auto-tune takes that away. Sometimes imperfections are supposed to be there!" It's a really good interview. Got actual new tidbits on a variety of subjects. EDIT - David just said who he had a session with last night - Jeremy Bose and Cindy Morgan aka St. Lola in the Fields (their band). FOD says Jeremy has produced Joy Williams. Their facebook has 4 songs. I can picture D singing something like their "Unless" and accompanying himself. www.myspace.com/stlolainthefieldsToday, David is off to another unnamed session

I agree. I love that he said "hate autotune". He every rarely uses that word in any context.
Very interesting bit: "I don’t want a typical everyday relationship song. If it’s going to be about a relationship, I want to create an image in people's minds and let their imaginations go."
Personally, I would like the image of Bubbly. I wonder if he'll get that close to it or really make us use our imaginations.

My favorite brass balls picture of David was him singing an acapella Christmas song to finish his sets at the Jingle Balls. I just wish he had had enough time to do one at Madison Square Garden in his set between Kanye and Chris Brown. Haha And new: David just did a new video blog, from his room at Joy Williams' house. He will be staying with Joy and her husband all week. He introduces them in his blog. And he's wearing a knit hat in the house. www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9vLsK20PVE

Corruptedbaby - David, in his pop life, doesn't wear his religion on his sleeve at all. Moral and cleancut and a virgin yes, over-religious no. Re stage robot and perhaps your word spineless, that all came from press speculation on his Dad being "banned" from backstage on Idol and also just because he was the only top 12 contestant that had to have a parent with him all of the time. But I am pretty sure people realize now that he makes his own decisions, he is the boss of his own band, and he is quite stubborn about sticking to his strong values. He also always conquers any fears he has, and he drives himself to be better. I admire his drive and determination.
Yes - A. Justin Bieber has a swagger coach and uses autotune. B. David is determined to be himself, to not put on a "cool" act. And I do not think you will be hearing any autotune songs from David.
So yeah - I guess A is designed to sell and B is purposely honest.
Re new direction - like with the first album, I think David had lots of early thoughts about doing more acoustic stuff and stuff that was not radio hits, and songs that were more him, more about what he thinks about and feels. But like before, I think he have been steered by Jive into doing more typical pop and radio pop. But he did participate in the writing of a LOT of songs and he feels like the songs are more his own and what he wants to say. What that will translate to, I don't know. He usually adds to his description of his new music direction that he's "a quirky guy" and he wants to show that. I guess we will have to want and see.

1. The release of David's memoir has been changed to June 1. Nobody knows why but they are guessing maybe to coincide with something. Single? Album? A tour? 2. Interesting note sent to Snarkies: "It seems that many of the new Spanish speaking fans David has acquired because of his beautiful performance of Somos El Mundo, have also discovered Contigo en la Distancia. I am addicted to this video and watch it at least once a day. Prior to the release of Somos El Mundo, the most popular video of Contigo would increase by a few hundred views per day. After the release of Somos El Mundo, the views began to increase to 1000, then 2000, then 3000 and now 4000 views per day. Many of the comments are from Spanish speaking fans who are curious about his background and who, of course, are blown away by his incredible voice and performance. I love the fact that David is being discovered by a whole new fan base . Woo Hoo! Elysian" 3. I like the teen mag coverage David gets in SE Asia - another cover 4.bp.blogspot.com/_jZ6fQTWMOrU/S5PTgsN4WkI/AAAAAAAABNY/LaM-FyeZomA/s1600-h/scannnnn.jpg4. Here's Billboard chart history for Crush www.billboard.com/#/song/david-archuleta/crush/12057363And here is someone's spreadsheet I kept a link to. It has every week's chart positions and sales for Crush - it has graphs too spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pcWh4PBsQcfbwP4yQiilDEQ&gid=1

David is following SteveKipner now (cowrote Barriers and Touch My Hand). And he has written with Natasha Bedingfield. He said hi to David and told him Natasha says hi. (pic with three tweets) 3.bp.blogspot.com/_uT1c_vbbMg0/S5MLqcTwgRI/AAAAAAAABcg/hlzl1JwRfFU/s1600-h/stevekipner.jpgNotEmoJ - Wikipedia also lists Declaration as a single for Cook. And Jive screwed up several times. For the second single, they said Touch My Hand was the single and some stations added it early and then they said ALTNOY was the single. Many stations never got the word, and the only promo it got was David singing it some time during the Crush Night evening on Nickelodeon, between shows. Then quite a while after that, @jivemusic announced David's next single was Touch My Hand. And a thread was even made here for it. Then it never became a single.

Cook got 5 singles off his first CD. Archuleta's record company only released 2 and one was either not good choice or they just failed to promote it.

I agree. He works his butt off. And he mixes in a small amount of family time and charity/volunteer work.
BTW the official site is getting moved/redone. Unfortunately it sounds to me like they are still trying to be the main fansite rather than supporting other fan sites. I just don't think being the official site and a fansite works, at least not the way they've been doing it with all of the junk posts on the front sides. Susee is now friends with Kiki, Didi, Lala. Are you a Jonas/Archuleta fan? Do you dream about David? ugh

I love Somos el Mundo and especially hearing David 3 times in it. I also really like some of the other singers. Get to see D three times in the video but there are others with multiple and longer parts so I don't think he got too much or anything. Plus, I think I read that many of those singers just showed up the day-of to join in and were not among the pre-confirmed ones that came a day early to record solos. I got mine too! I don't understand Spanish but I like it better than the English remake. I was a bit disappointed the guitar wasn't Carlos Santana but it was still nice.

No we don't. And I still think it's radio-friendly song and a lot of fans like it. Yes it doesn't show off all of his talent but it also avoids what some call the "American Idol Syndrome" of singing as loud, high and long as you can and listeners thinking that's what makes good music. And why is it "not him"? He likes music like that. He likes lots of different kids of music.
Re Somos el Mundo - My old computer here at work was too slow/outdated to play it. Fans who heard it liked it a lot and Snarkies said you could hear David at 2:10, 4:20, 6:20 - guess I will have to wait until tonight.

It's all over the world now, mostly on DL sites. China, Japan, Vietnam, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Russia were the languages I saw. However, many fans and fan sites and not posting/listening to it because it's a leak. Some fans ranting everyone needs to stop listening to it and delete it if their downloaded it. Like that will do any good. If the leak was intentional it would be better if they said Yes we want you to have this.
And if SNY is a new song, I would not mind this it being on the album though it certainly couldn't be a single after such a big leak. That said, it would have been a better single than ALTNOY IMO. I also like it for the exact reason some do not - it's a Chris Brown type song with no autotune. It has a fast patter in the verses not unlike sung rap. It has a feel that's different from anything people have heard from him so far. It sounds current.

I love it. It's very bouncy. . I would love to see David sing it live. Hopefully, if nothing else, it will be a possible for his setlists :) And some commenter on YouTube said this... x0mGiLuVDaViDAx (3 hours ago) i think that rumor was cleared up. its from this album's writing session, but we're not sure where its gonna fit in yet, if at all. so lets keep our fingers crossed. cuz i love this song. ??

Track's spreading around the web pretty fast. Last.fm, eMusicality, YouTube, Vodpod, Celebrifi, various Idol sites, lyrics sites, USA Today/Idol tracker sent readers to a download link to hear it.

Was Lindy Robbins involved with D's first album? I don't think she has a songwriter credit on any of the main tracks.
And oh please no DA ft a rapper. please no

yea, I do think it's intentional. I don't think it's even in the running for this album so that's why it's the full song. I like it. It's typical lindy robbins filler but it's not bad. Awww - Then I hope it's not one that David liked a lot.

So you think it's intentional? Doesn't it seem like a lot of the song for intentional? I like it though it seems a bit young. Do you think it's old material?
