Spoilers Leave Madonna Alone The Queen of Pop’s Celebration Tour Is a Love Letter to Fans, Foes, and the Queer Community www.thestranger.com/articles/2024/02/19/79393541/leave-madonna-alone“This performance felt particularly powerful after people on social media mocked her last month for using a support rail while dancing. Once again, the bar we set for female performers is somewhere up in outer space. “To age is a sin,” she proclaimed in 2016. “The most controversial thing I've done is stick around,” she said. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: LEAVE MADONNA ALONE.”

Madonna's Concert for a Cause: Supporting the LGBTQ Community with Twin Cities Pride bnnbreaking.com/local-news/madonnas-concert-for-a-cause-supporting-the-lgbtq-community-with-twin-cities-prideMadonna's upcoming concert in St. Paul is a call to action for the LGBTQ community. In collaboration with Twin Cities Pride, the event supports the Rainbow Wardrobe initiative, which provides gender-affirming clothing and personal care items for LGBTQ youth in need. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring donations, while online contributions can also be made at tcpride.org/rainbow-wardrobe. Madonna, the pop icon, is joining forces with Twin Cities Pride (TCP) for a cause that resonates deeply with the LGBTQ community. As she takes the stage at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, concertgoers are encouraged to bring along more than just their love for music. They're asked to contribute to the Rainbow Wardrobe initiative, a program providing gender-affirming clothing and personal care items for those in need. A Concert of Generosity The upcoming concert on Tuesday night isn't just about music; it's about making a difference. TCP volunteers will be stationed at the doors of the Xcel Energy Center, ready to collect donations of clothes, personal hygiene products, and financial contributions. These items will go directly to the Rainbow Wardrobe initiative, which has been serving the LGBTQ community since its inception last June. The Rainbow Wardrobe: A Beacon of Hope The Rainbow Wardrobe primarily serves LGBTQ youth who find themselves homeless or impoverished, and may not feel safe accessing shelters. Personal hygiene items are among the most significant needs, often overlooked but essential for maintaining dignity and self-respect. Gender-affirming clothing is another critical aspect of the initiative. For many young people in the LGBTQ community, having access to clothing that aligns with their gender identity can be life-changing. It's not just about appearance; it's about feeling recognized, accepted, and true to oneself. How You Can Help If you're attending the concert, consider bringing along a donation. Clothes that reflect various gender expressions, sizes, and styles are welcome, as are personal hygiene products. If you're unable to attend, you can still make a difference by donating online at tcpride.org/rainbow-wardrobe. Together, we can ensure that the Rainbow Wardrobe continues to provide vital support to the LGBTQ community. As Madonna takes the stage, let's join her in sending a message of love, acceptance, and hope to all. In conclusion, Madonna's St. Paul concert is not just an event for music lovers; it's a platform for change. By collaborating with Twin Cities Pride and supporting the Rainbow Wardrobe initiative, we can help make a difference in the lives of LGBTQ youth who need it most. Whether through donations or spreading awareness, every act of kindness counts.

HOLY SHIT!!!!! How does this woman keep outdoing herself? This is the third tour of hers I've seen live and I swear each one is more compelling than the last! Read on for major spoilers {Spoiler} I love that she's walking through her life and career chronologically and on her terms with this setlist. Opening with "Nothing Really Matters" with no dancers or theatrics other than a rotating stage is a ballsy move and also a great introduction to everything she's experienced.
The audience LOVED the 80s segment, and we weren't expecting the somber shift with one of the dancers miming death from AIDS at the end of "Holiday." I got a minor spoiler that there was an AIDS tribute in the show, but the transition was a great setup. "Live to Tell" was stunning especially with her flying in a box between the in-memoriam photos and the religiosity that lead into "Like a Prayer" was like WTF is going on, but then the audience erupted in a sing-along when LAP began.
When we migrated onward to the 90s, I liked the use of boxers for "Erotica" and I did not expect it to get so sexual for the entirety of that segment. Then there was a full-blown orgy simulation for "Justify My Love" into "Hung Up (on Tokischa)" and I kept thinking about how I was glad to be seeing the show alone.
Once everyone calmed down after that experience, I lost my shit that she chose to include BAD GIRL!!!! I did not expect that at all and am glad I didn't spoil myself on the setlist. For the next bit, Bob was such an amazing Drag Ball MC and "Vogue" was so much fun. We got the obligatory "Human Nature" but when she shortened it and broke into CRAZY FOR YOU, I lost my shit again!!!!
The transition to the 00s was cool with the match strike igniting the stage and The Beast Within (though unsurprising) was an entertaining transition. "Die Another Day" had some of my favorite staging with the dancers suddenly appearing in the spotlights. It was so dark except for the center lights around Madonna that I didn't even notice, which made it much more impactful. (Sidenote: at other points I could see when the dancers were going and could anticipate where our attention would be directed next, so it was cool to be surprised.) But then I lost my shit a third time when one of my favorite singles made an appearance with DON'T TELL ME. "Mother and Father" was an interesting choice to represent AL, but it worked well enough. I liked the country-fied version it began as and wished it wouldn't have transitioned into the regular production. Also, I think the AL title track or "Nothing Fails" would have also worked w/in the context of the show to represent this album.
The acoustic sing-along of "Express Yourself" was lovely for the audience and to showcase her singing and guitar playing. Her mic was on the whole night and there was a quiet backing track to assist, she also said she was having sound issues.
But when she suddenly broke into "La Isla Bonita" after that, the entire place went WILD! And the segue into DCFMA was nice too, lots of energy and the donning of the progress pride flag to close out this segment was cool too. Frankly, that could've been an ending with an encore, but the show kept going.
The next song both blew my mind as a setlist including and the special effects were AMAZING - BEDTIME STORY. She laid on this cube and a camera above project her into the dream sequence displayed on the projection screens while her dancers did all sorts of cool things on the sides. "Ray of Light" was the Sasha Ultra Violet Mix and felt like being at a club, which kept the energy going. Then to cool off, she gave us RAIN and I lost my shit a fifth(!) time! Though it was a little strange that clips from the "Frozen" video played while this song was performed.
The closing segment was nice too. The MJ/Madonna bit with the dancers was a sweet tribute and a reminder they are the king and queen of pop. And I loved-loved-loved her dancers coming out in her various iconic costumes for the GMAYL/Bitch I'm Madonna/Celebration finale. It was a wild, amazing ride and shows that she's still the best at what she does.
Also they played "The Power of Goodbye" instrumental as the audience was exiting. I thought "Take a Bow" would've fit as well.
There were only a few songs I thought she might throw in but didn't make it. I wasn't expecting her to go deep into the 80s as she's lukewarm on her oldest material. Including a snippet of "Angel" during the MJ interlude was poignant to end that segment and acknowledge his passing. The notable omissions were "Secret," "Take a Bow," "Frozen," "Music," and "4 Minutes." Maybe "Sorry" as well. In fact Hard Candy was the only album she played complete dust to. Read on for all songs performed or included in a transition, by album.
Madonna Everybody Burning Up Holiday
Like a Virgin Into the Groove Crazy for You Like a Virgin {MJ/Madonna dance break} Angel {transition}
True Blue Where's the Party {mixed into Everybody} Open Your Heart Live to Tell Papa Don't Preach {instrumental} La Isla Bonita

Maybe because of this past summer serious illness, she may be inspired to write and record an album in the realm of her Ray of Light.

Acts with the most Number 1 albums on the Official UK Chart Who's scored the most Number 1 albums in the UK? www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/acts-with-the-most-number-1-albums-on-the-official-uk-chart__15643/Madonna (12) The female solo star with the most albums to hit the top, and in joint third place overall, is Madonna. She first hit the top in 1985, when sophomore album Like A Virgin finally reached Number 1 in its 44th week on the chart, and most recently found herself there in 2012, with MDNA, her 12th chart-topper (if you include the Evita soundtrack, which we do). Madonna's scored 30 weeks at Number 1, and was recently overtaken by Adele as female artist with most weeks at the top. Her longest run was 1990's hits retrospective The Immaculate Collection, one of the biggest selling albums of all time, which notched up nine straight weeks. Madonna's full Official Chart history

UK Chart The Weeknd, Madonna & Playboi Carti top Official Trending Chart with Popular www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/the-weeknd-madonna-playboi-carti-top-official-trending-chart-with-popular/The Weeknd, Madonna and Playboi Carti are showing us all the meaning of the word Popular as they top the Official Trending Chart this week, ahead of their slow-burning collab about to finally climb into the Top 10. Originally released on the soundtrack of The Weeknd's ambitious dark comedy-dram The Idol on HBO last year, Popular has proved...well...very popular, even long after its mother-series stopped airing, and conversation around it stopped. Today, it tops the Official Trending Chat for the first time, and is expected to enter the UK Top 10 for the first time this week at Number 10. It would be the Weeknd's 16th Top 10 single, Playboi Carti's first Top 10 single. And even more impressive, it would see the Queen of Pop Madonna earn her landmark 64th (!) Top 10 single, and first in 15 years, since Celebration (banger) in 2009.

Spoilers are inside this article The Detroit News Madonna shows vulnerability at homecoming concert: 'I hope you're proud of me, Detroit!' The Queen of Pop was emotional during late show at Little Caesars Arena on Monday www.detroitnews.com/story/entertainment/music/2024/01/16/madonna-concert-review-detroit-little-caesars-arena/72234929007/“Madonna did something at her homecoming concert Monday night at Little Caesars Arena that she has rarely done in her groundbreaking, boundary-pushing, earth-shattering career: She let her guard down. Addressing the crowd of 13,000 — including her 92-year-old father Silvio, who is suffering from Parkinson's disease and was in attendance at the show — Madonna spoke of the strength her father gave to her, the work ethic he instilled in her as a child and the need she felt to give her hometown someone they can cheer for.” “It was a deeply personal and surprisingly emotional concert — not to mention a late night at the arena, which didn't see the Material Girl taking the stage until after 10:30 p.m. and wrapping just before 1 a.m. — as Madonna looked to be holding back and even wiping away tears on more than one occasion.” “Time is of course the theme of all themes on the "Celebration" tour — what we do with it, how we look back on it and coming to grips with the passage of it — and knowing that nothing, not even Madonna, lasts forever. So if that means celebrating, celebrate away. And make that celebration as meaningful as possible.”
