She's busy promoting her Spanish LP. Didn't you know she was nominated for a few Grammy Latinos? She's also doing some shows with other latin artists next month.
I feel like whatever she releases from now on will not do as good as Loose. All that work to make her relevant again and then she goes ahead and releases a Spanish album. I don't even know what she can do with her next album to hit it big again, I just hope she doesn't work with Timbaland again, his production material has been far south from ok lately.

Right i mean she has taking way to long to come out with another album. She's been releasing all spanish material. I wonder whats the hold up, may'be she's trying to find a new direction or something. But it's almost like she has gone with the wind lol.

Nelly is just not that interested to be 'hip' or 'in' like in the Loose era. She has always said that an 'indie artist' lies on her and that she would never record a R&B/Pop oriented album as "Loose"again. I feel that she's ashamed of that era and that's why she's singing in Spanish now and collaborating with Latin artists. She just wants to scape from those days when she was doing what her laber (and radio listeners) wanted her to do. She's being herself now. She's even gained weight , another sign that she's trying to scrap those days. It's her choice and we can just wish her luck and congratulate her for following her ideals.

Well if that's the case, then good for her. I just find it tragic that she might be overlooked once again. She is a great artist, and I would like people to recognize her talent.

Spanish? Isn't she portugese? But I agree with illres. I think it was rather silly of her to not continue what Loose did for her, and I feel we might see a very underwhelming era from her if ever she releases anytime soon, but gurl is not getting any younger. She needs to get her ass up in the studio and look for some inspiration

She needs to get her ass up in the studio and look for some inspiration she always took spanish classes when she was younger and speaking spanish just came naturally to her although she's still not completely fluent in the language yet. she first dabbled in singing spanish by collaborating with Juanes in the 2003 latin hit "fotografia" and then her love of spanish just grew fonder... i think she only ever sang portuguese for "quando quando quando" and "forca"...

I love Nelly and wish she would release more music. I would even be happy with the indie type stuff-or at least less mainstream-compared to Loose. I know everyone creamed themselves over it, but I felt like some of those tracks could have been any random pop singer rather than the distinct voice and style she had with her previous songs. If she really is disgusted with the Loose era and compromises she made at least she is probably rich enough now to make music on her own terms comfortably from here on out.

For me, "Loose" was one of the best albums of 00's. <3
Yeah, she's totally due for another smash album. I hope she doesn't suffer from the Christina Aguilera effect, though.

She's supposedly working on a new English album tentatively called "Lifestyle' and also has plans on releasing a full-length Portuguese album in the future.

Nelly is releasing her Greatest Hits Album. Then in 2011 will follow up with her next English Album.
As far as Loose that was just horrid. She also picked the most forgettable songs to be on the album. Only good ones were Maneater, All Good Things, In Gods Hands.
She released some awesome B-Sides in Europe. Somebody to Love, Let My Hair Down, I AM, Undercover, What I wanted, Runaway.. I think those songs were on some international versions of the album.
First 2 albums were amazing but Loose with the song selection it had was horrid.

DISAGREE. Say It Right was hauting, Promiscuous raised her to a whole new level, Maneater was the sexiest song of the decade. She actually didn't go anywhere. World Wide, she had HUGE hits this and last year with her Spanish album. The USA market didn't pay attention to it, but Mi Plan was an explosive album filled with so many new sounds for her. So no, she didn't go anywhere.

She's been constantly recording the English album. Her and Tim started on 8 tracks but she scrapped them. Salaam has been busy in the studio with her and she started her sessions up again with The Neptunes after Hot n Fun. This is like the 3rd album that they have set up time with her.

Loose was an amazing album. Maybe it's not her true self, but Say It Right, Promiscuous, Maneater and All Good Things (Come to an End) were all so good that I wish she records another pop-oriented album like that some time in the future.

Spanish? Isn't she portugese? It could work for her to diversify into other languages. Example: Look at Laura Pausini. She's Italian and she sings in Italian, but she re-recorded her albums in Spanish and it was successful so she does two versions of the albums when she records an album. I have read that she's planning to do other languages such as French and Portuguese in the future. She tried the English thing and it didn't work. "Say It Right" was absolutely gorgeous. One of my favorites from the album. Her single were pretty good from that album. As far as Loose that was just horrid. She also picked the most forgettable songs to be on the album. Only good ones were Maneater, All Good Things, In Gods Hands. She released some awesome B-Sides in Europe. With every album that comes out, there will be people who may love it or hate it. Even ones that the significant majority liked or loved, you will find people who have a differing viewpoint.

I really just think that some horrible songs were chosen for Loose. Say It Right is an amazing song lyrically. However I felt it was over produced. I just heard nothing but beats.
I've been a fan of Nelly's since she came out. So I was huge fan and was so excited when I AM leaked and Maneater was announced as the first single. Which ended up changing and they released Promiscuous. A good move because it gave her a #1 album and made her huge.
I was not sure how I felt about Afraid. Showtime and Glow seemed like the same song. (even though Showtime was better) Do It should have been replaced with Undercover. I can't recall what Wait for You sounds like without listening to it.
I still bought it and overplayed it. I just got more of a magical feeling out of the B-Sides lol.

Loose was mainstream but it's still very much Nelly and Timbaland & Danja's productions sealed the deal and "Say It Right" is one of the best songs she's ever written and recorded

All Good Things is my favorite, cannot argue the beauty of that one

I wasn't even trying to be a smartass (well, OK, I was). "Night Is Young" seems to be fairly successful there- it could be a hit here as well if promoted right.
