Weird that in both the Single of the Year & Video of the Year categories there isn't a single female listed. I know she got the gender-specific noms, but still. A bit odd. Oh well, I'm sure she'll take one or two home.

As much as I hope that Billboard is correct (I'd love to see Carrie take on some real country-R&B -- like REAL R&B), I think they might just be rehashing stuff from last year, you know?

Yeah. I was thinking it might just be a rehash of old news, as well. I'm not even sure how I feel about a Ne-Yo collaboration anway, tbh. I'd rather she just ditch all pop writers for the next go 'round. Hodges & Elizondo can stay, tho.

Stephen found this tweet from Reba confirming she was at Carrie's show! :) twitter.com/rebaQuote: I loved Carrie's show. We had a great time watching her!!! ^I am so happy Carrie got her first acting nomination, ( Favorite Guest Star in a TV Show), albeit it for a People's Choice Award. :) Still, even if she loses, it is a great thing to put on her resume, and it might get her noticed by some producers etc, that may not have realized that Carrie is dabbling in acting. I thought she did a great job on HIMYM, and the critics seemed to like her too. :) ^I hate to say this but I don't want anymore Kara songs on the next album either. I defended her until I heard MS and No boundaries, and now I am ready for Carrie to move on. lol I loved some of Kara's songs for other artists, and I do love Undo It, but I would have preferred Oklahoma Wind or the Marcus Hummond songs to MS.

I love OW, but I feel like it would be better if it was recorded by a male artist. I can see so many country male artists doing great with it- Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, maybe even Blake Shelton or the Zac Brown Band.

Umm... I highly doubt 'SWISLY' is going to get released at this point. Not only does it make no sense to release a song about breaking up after releasing a song about getting married, but I doubt it would have any chance of hitting #1 after 'MS' has run it's course. Let's face it, it's going to be a struggle for 'MS' to get to the top of the chart, if it does, with all the competition that's out right now. Which means it would be even more of a struggle for another ballad to get to even... the top five.
If they're going to release a fifth single, it'll likely be one of the up-tempo songs that's not about breaking up. I'd put money on the fifth single being 'Quitter' or 'This Time', if we even get a fifth single.

Carrie's voice would be perfect for it and it will be amazing. I'm almost hoping for it to be her first single from her next album.

^I dont know how I feel about Oklahoma Wind as the first single. I wouldn't want it to be only because I heard it before, and know the lyrics and melody and such. Usually with a first single, I want to hear something completely new. I would LOVE to hear Carrie's recording of the song, and if SWISLY isn't a single, that could be, as it is another song that is regarded as amazing by most Carrie fans.

It will be a crime if we never hear Carrie's version of Oklahoma Wind.

It will be a crime if we never hear Carrie's version of Oklahoma Wind. Seriously. That song NEEDS to be on the next album. If even the demo sounded amazing, can't imagine how beautiful it would sound with Carrie's voice.

I don't understand why you peeps are still bashing Mama's Song there's nothing wrong with it. Essentially because there are far stronger songs on the album that would/could crossover and more likely reach a higher level of success (Quitter and Unapologize, IMO). Mama's Song is lovely, though. Just not single material lovely, IMO.

I don't understand why you peeps are still bashing Mama's Song there's nothing wrong with it. Because music is subjective, and not everybody is going to like the same things.

Quitter will be the next single. 99%
This Time---1%
SWISLY, as much as I love this song, 0%. IMO, there's just not enough time before her next cd release.
Quitter will be the last single from Play On. It just fits the narrative. Again, jmo.

It seems Carrie is more of a lyricist. Story on Mama's Song: Source.

^Thanks for posting. I always love reading about how they wrote a song. I like this story in particular because I learned that Mama's Song and Undo it were created on the same day. That's pretty cool. It is interesting how different people react differently to songs too. Many people here hate it, while some will listen to it and find themselves connecting with it profoundly. I happen to like the song, even though it doesn't relate to me whatsoever! haha.

Carrie's dog "Ace" Won the Cutest Dog Poll in Country Weekly Magazine this week. :) It is the 10-25 edition with Billy Currington on the cover.

OMG Carrie sounds AMAZING on that Loretta Lynn song! Wow! She sounds so country! Love it!
I hope the traditionalists and critics hear her sing this song. :)
