I wonder if "Beautiful Life" will leak as well...That song was also included on that Oklahoma Wind demo CD. "Wine After Whiskey" was too, but Carrie's vocals weren't on it apparently...

Where is the link to this Cd again? Is it on EBAY? As far as I know it was purchased a few months ago on ebay... I remember people on Carriefans attempted to get it, but it was sold to an unknown person... But this is the link anyway... cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260682402367

Oh, i thought it was recent. Thanks! Can't wait to see more trailers of SS with Carrie on them. Would love to see her speaking dialogue.

It's kind of hilarious that there are more shots of Carrie in that trailer than of Helen Hunt or Dennis Quaid.

I heard an interview yesterday and Carrie did pretty much say this year will be a big break for her. She said she'll write, but she's not guaranteeing an album this year. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I really hope there's a new album this year. She should spend most of the year relaxing, and just writing and picking/finding songs she likes, and then just hit the studio in the Fall to release the album in early December, before Christmas.

The trailer was gone when I went to YouTube. Has anyone seen it anywhere else? IMDB maybe?

I feel like she should take a substantial break and come back in 2012. I wonder what her first week sales (and overall) would be if she released in the 1st or 2nd quarter of 2012 versus 4th quarter 2011...

I think 4th quarter releases are always the best time for releases because it's when they get the most hype, and jacked sales because it's the Holiday quarter as well. I also like the way she has been releasing albums every two years. So, basically, I'd prefer that things stay the way the are in terms of timing with her albums.

For sales purposes, it would make sense to keep the same cycle going. That being said, if she's not really "feeling" it just yet, I'd much prefer an album in 2012 instead of her releasing a half-assed effort later this year just for sales.

But something I see other artists do that Carrie doesn't is writing throughout their tours and the entire time between albums. People like Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Keith Urban, etc... write all the time. Carrie, as far as I know, only writes in writing sessions after she is done touring and ready to start work on a new album. I feel that she would benefit from writing year round every year to generate more material as well as learning different writing subjects and techniques to go about the writing. I guess I kind of went off on a tangent here, but I guess my point is that I think Carrie should spend more time writing. She clearly has a talent in writing, so I think she should exercise it more. I also don't think it would hurt for her to try solo writing, as opposed to her usual group co-writes. In the end, this would save time and provide the fans with more material because there will be so much more material to release.

^^We really don't know what her writing schemes are. She could very well be thinking of ideas and melodies as she tours and then finalizing things as she has time. I don't know.

I think Carrie will be releasing a new album late this year for sure. I know she hasn't said anything concrete but she never really did with the other albums either. I don't see her taking the entire year off at all. I think to her "time off" is not touring! :) I bet she has tons of stuff lined up that we have no idea about. Plus, the GG (possibly the Oscars), ACM's and the SS opening. These are all in the first couple months of this year...lol

Carrie is such a workaholic- one the hardest working folks in the showbiz industry. After considering how little time she has taken for her own wedding/honeymoon before starting up the second leg of her 'Play On' Tour, I could imagine that a substantial break for Carrie could entail attending the movie and Grammy award shows, promoting 'Soul Surfer'in April, then not writing until late spring/summer, and release a new single end of summer and album in Q4 (not being selfish).

I remember Craig Morgan commenting on Carrie's habit of doing this, and how he was trying to teach her ways of writing while on tour. I don't know if she followed up on that advice. I'll see if I can find the link. Edit: Here it is.

If she is going to wait until 2012 to put a new album out, it would be nice if we could get 2 more singles from Play On...send SWISLY or WCIS out to radio at the end of the month/early February, and then put out Quitter for the summer.

It looks like Mama's Song has unofficially peaked (I expect it to start falling faster next week). When do you think the next single will be announced?
There's been rumors about the next single being Quitter, but then someone in the MS thread said that Carrie pointed out in a radio interview this week that all of the singles from Play On have been her co-writes. So perhaps she will stick with that pattern, which would rule out both Quitter and SWISLY. If the next single is another co-write, our options are: Unapologize, What Can I Say, and Play On.
Play On screams album track to me (but then so did Mama's Song, so who knows). Unapologize is a great song, but also the poppiest song on the album so I'm not sure they'd want to release it to country radio. What Can I Say has been a personal favorite of mine since I first heard it, so I'd be thrilled to see it get released.
The two best options for the next single, IMO, would be WCIS or SWISLY, but if they want to go with something a little more upbeat, Quitter or This Time would also work. Of those four songs, Quitter seems to be the most "controversial" (for lack of a better term). Fans seem to either love it or hate it, and most critics haven't been too fond of it.

I would love to see a fifth single release in February, followed by CD #4 in late summer-early fall.

Radio Lia interviewed both Carrie and her mother Carole on her syndicated show tonight. If you missed it, you can download it from my site.

No one has really mentioned "Change" as the possible 5th single. I really, really hope not.
