Wow the Kara hate is extreme around here!! I thought UI was a good solid track that did what it was suppose to do. MS was a very personable to Carrie so im sure she feels a connection to Kara because they co wrore that one to. I dont hate MS in fact i find the simplicity of the lyrics refreshing in this day and age. That being said there was much better songs on the CD that could of kept the #1 streak alive. Carrie has grown as a artist and as a person so im sure that whatever her and Kara come up with will reflect that artistic growth so ill keep an open mind and not hate someting before i hear it....LOL kara offers nothing new. its the same old same old. and she doesnt even know what real good country music is. after starting out strong, i'm sure its only a coincidence that play on floundered as it closed out its era with 2 kara singles. at this point, carrie has to up her game. with all the recent "snubs" or whatever they may be, and her other lady peers upping their games as well, she needs to stand out again and offer something that will make many remember what made her very special in the first place. she has much, much more to offer and much more talent than her peers, its the worst time to be get stuck in a rut.

I think she really liked the songs Kara wrote with her. When she performs she always says how much she likes Mama's Song. So that might be a reason why she will be working with her again.
I just hope she writes more with actual country music writers. If she isn't interested in crossing over, why does she write with writers who write (mostly) pop music? And even if she likes to write with songwriters from other genres, there are still many better choices imo. Most of her own fans didn't even really like those songs.
But maybe they won't even make the album, or be actual good songs, that's possible as well.
True, and the singles (the songs most casual listeners hear from the arists) were much worse from Play On, then from Some Hears imo. Songs like JTTW, BHC and Wasted were much more critically aclaimed then songs like Mama's Song and Undo It. That really was part of the problem with the 'Play On Era', I think.

Kara again really? Why Carrie Why? I think most of her stuff is just bad and I want Carrie to go far, far away from her!! I agree what, that she really needs to step up her game for the next album. I love PO but I want to see something different from her this time(or maybe it's that I want her to leave all the POP people out of this project). She needs to take some risks and go for broke.

Hey, where's the respect?, Just because Kara is going to be writing with Carrie in a couple weeks that don't mean its going to be on the new ablum. You people get upset over little things when you don't even know of its going to be on the new cd and i would wait before making judgements. I also would stop being so negative on someone. Of Carrie likes to work with Kara then let her..

I still really love that song "Strangers & Angels" Kara wrote that was rumored to be in consideration for the album, but the "Mama's Song" hate is just easier to latch onto emotionally because it was released as a single over clearly superior tracks. So Kara is capable of writing a song I enjoy without reservation, it just happened that the tracks for Play On failed to fall into that category.

Yeah. Kara is by no means an excellent writer, but she's wrote some good songs, too. I really like "Sometimes You Leave," which I think if not for the production could have been a big hit on country radio.

I want more meaningful, inspirational, emotional ballads. I'm a sucker for Carrie ballads, and Kara is no good for that. I want Hillary Lindsey!!!

kara has the name, but she doesnt have the goods. Well, for top 40 music, she's fine. But for country music, no way in h*ll (and that's being polite )

lol at the reaction over Kara. sure i am not the biggest fans of her work thus far, but hopefully they have another cowriter involved who will be much better at lyrics. kara has some ideas when it comes to melody

lol at the reaction over Kara. sure i am not the biggest fans of her work thus far, but hopefully they have another cowriter involved who will be much better at lyrics. kara has some ideas when it comes to melody luke laird was supposed to be that person (his other cowrites with other writers have been decent so far in the past), and yet mamas song was still came out at that roundabout silly way that it did. and at this point in her songwriting career, i dont trust carrie to assert herself she wants something better and tighter than the product that comes out. im not sure any co-songwriter willl help a kara song at all. i havent been impressed with any of her other co-writes with other songwriters for other artists. melody? undo it was an obvious attempt at a "country" umbrella. mama's song was so boring it could put you to sleep even if youre not sleepy. sometimes you leave is suited more for clarkson. nothing compelling, interesting, or remotely original. anyway, its still early in the album-making process. maybe by the time carrie really gets down to 4th album, she'll have forgotten she ever wrote with kara at all.

Well, just for the writing experience, l say go ahead and write some songs with Kara. You never know what gem will come out of any session. Obviously Carrie enjoys writing With her, so why not. If the session doesn't produce anything, so be it. On to the next Writer.

I want Carrie to write with Cathy Dennis and Tom Shapiro. You Won't Find This is a gem. Truly. Absolutely, one of her best songs. The lyrics on that song are amazing. I also really like the instrumental on it, very good. Too bad the song is so underrated though. I think it's one of her best songs.

Carrie is amazing, tbh. The movie looks preachy, but whatever. I can dig it.

If I might add, "You Won't Find This" is easily my favorite non-single from CR. Behind JAD and SS. I love(d) it! I feel the same way about "Look At Me". The only difference being LAM is my favorite song off PO.

"Songs Like This" moves up to #50 on Hot Country Songs chart. I really think they should just make this the 5th single. It's very upbeat and sounds good for Spring.

YWFT is one of my favs as well but it has a pop production, IMO. I think if they changed it a bit, it would've been perfect for radio!

Well, yeah. Caty Dennis is a dance-pop writer, lmao. EDIT: Carrie will be featured on Tony Bennett's Duets 2 album! It comes out in September. Source.

Ahh that's awesome this performance from Oprah is to this day one of my favorites. Carrie's voice is so pure and I love the look Micheal Buble gives her when she slides into that perfect falsetto. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc_xYZTd9-4
