couldnt be a better move for mike. the sens are pretty much going into rebuild mode so they will be sucking for a few years while they bring in young players. Nashville manages to ice competitive teams year after year. And their coach Barry trotz is very highly respected and will be a great fit with mike.
and even though i'm not married, i never thought that them living apart so much was going to be a good thing for their marriage in the long run.

It's understandable that Ottawa peeps feel this way, but it's still a bit sad.

Isn't that a pop station? I doubt they played her that much anyway. It's just posturing for show.

In regards to the Sony situation, yes, things are changing, but I don't think it should be called a "sinking ship". Sony is one of the oldest--and still strongest--music labels in Nashville. One of the big 4. Alan was going to leave, and we knew that a long time ago. Chuck and Craig just haven't been cutting it--poor single performances, and Craig's last album didn't even sell 100k...I think it only got to 65k.
With new people in place, they are going to try to break in new artists (Jerrod Niemann, Casey James Band, Josh Thompson, Joanna Smith, Jordynn Shellhart, and Danny Gokey) while continuing to build up Chris Young, Miranda Lambert, and Kellie Pickler; and, of course, they will certainly stay true to their superstars, Carrie, Brad, and Kenny.
Even with "Play On" not getting a 5th single, and Carrie not getting a deserved-ACM nomination for EOTY, I still think she's on a great label. We all know that, whenever she releases her next single, it's going to explode. And, as long as she keeps churning out quality music, I don't think her fanbase is going to get any smaller!

The Squeky wheel gets all the Grease!! Most of the Pub i see on this is all positive!! The negative comes from people who never liked Carrie anyway!! The radio station hit a home run with their marketing ploy!! People with half a brain know a Country music singer has no influence in the day to day transactions of a major sports franchise!!

Carrie comes in at #13 on Billboard's Top 40 Money Makers 2011: The American Idol victor reigned as country music's top female touring artist in 2010. Underwood launched her North American tour last March in support of her 2009 album "Play On," performing 108 shows in the United States and Canada. By the time the tour wrapped, Underwood had played to 1 million fans, grossed $33.2 million and netted about $11 million. During the fall leg of the tour, the Academy of Country Music's two-time entertainer of the year donated 36 cents from every ticket to Save the Children's U.S. programs. Underwood also racked up total U.S. album sales of 1 million.

^^Wow, even after the billboard accomplishment, she still didn't get an ACM EOTY nod. Go figure. It's tough out there in musicland.

I know I'm late, but this actually explains the 6 nominees well enough for me. They were gunning for 5, but there was a tie, so it is 6. And if you think about it, a tie at any place DOES vindicate a 6th nominee, because if two artist tie for let's say 2nd place in the nominee voting, then they both finished 2nd place, when the Academy is planning to nominee the 5th place finisher as well. So in that regard, it makes sense. Should Carrie have been nominated? Yes. Was she snubbed? Yes. But I think the complaints about 6 nominees instead of 5 are over now.

WTF! Carrie, why? She's not associated with Idol anymore. You are not forced to do this.

Why does Carrie not listen to the fans sometimes!!! No Kara!!! Also, the Grammys were great, and Carrie was at least included when Dierks/Zac Brown read off the nominees for Female Country Vocal... Nevertheless, the Grammys definitely missed Carrie. I just didn't feel right without her!

LMAO, you guys act like Carrie only releases shitty singles. Granted, I hate Kara D's writing, but Carrie's first single was the perfect choice this time, so...

Granted, I hate Kara D's writing, but Carrie's first single was the perfect choice this time, so... That's because Kara wasn't involved with the writing of Cowboy Casanova.

Wow the Kara hate is extreme around here!! I thought UI was a good solid track that did what it was suppose to do. MS was a very personable to Carrie so im sure she feels a connection to Kara because they co wrore that one to. I dont hate MS in fact i find the simplicity of the lyrics refreshing in this day and age. That being said there was much better songs on the CD that could of kept the #1 streak alive. Carrie has grown as a artist and as a person so im sure that whatever her and Kara come up with will reflect that artistic growth so ill keep an open mind and not hate someting before i hear it....LOL
