I was pleasantly surprised that she sang my fav "Wasted." I actually used the Opry app and it sounded great!! My friends that don't even listen to her thought it was amazing! :)

I wonder if she'll perform something. I know it's for the Soul Surfer media blitz, but it can't hurt to perform something as well. I'm still shocked they didn't have her record (a) theme song for the movie....

Carrie will be back at the Opry on June 7 at 7pm and again at 9:30pm.
This is also the same day as her FC Party.
The show for both times will consist of Carrie, Martina McBride, Jerrodd Niemann, Lady Antebellum, and Oak Ridge Boys. Good lineup! :)
Any word on whether Carrie will perform at the CMA Fest this year or not? I've got tickets again, and I'm really, REALLY hoping she's going. I'm flying in the night of June 7 so I can't get to the FC Party, but hopefully I'll be able to catch the second show of the Opry if a) I get the tickets and b) The flight doesn't have any delays and lands on time (scheduled for 6:30pm landing).

I can't imagine she won't participate in at least some events. Last time she missed it she had a deadline for her album so she didn't have time to attend. This time, her schedule isn't as tight so I don't see why not. She's there anyway for the Opry and the Fclub party. It would make sense that she plays the major shows too. Also, the Brad/Carrie duet will be new and fresh so they might perform it together on the part that is televised later in the year... Unlike when she missed it, she will have music to promote or at least co-promote so I see her, at the very least, performing with Brad at some shows including the one that is filmed for TV.

I'm still shocked they didn't have her record (a) theme song for the movie.... Maybe she didn't want to. It's possible that Carrie just wanted to concentrate on that project solely as an actress and not be viewed as a singer trying to promote a song through a movie. Just my own speculation.

That rendition of 'Instant Karma' gave me life. I wish the choir would've kept the f**k away, though. But, still. Carrie stays flawless.
Here it is over at the YT for those that missed the broadcast:

"Songs Like This" is up 8 spots to #39 this week on the Billboard Country Chart. They might as well give it an adds date and see what happens at this point.

^^ Ugh, the choir- one could barely hear Carrie for most of the song. That rendition of 'Karma' was simply stellar (the band's arrangement was a bit sketchy, IMO), but I especially loved the melisma that she infused into each verse. I hope she performs an acoustic version of the song (sans choir, lol) during her next tour.

According to USA Today's Brian Mansfield, Carrie and Randy will duet on the 1989 chart-topper "Is It Still Over?"

Brian Mansfield also released some lyrics from the Brad duet. They go: Do you remember how it used to be? We'd turn out the lights and we didn't just sleep Remind me, baby, remind me So on fire, so in love That look in your eyes that I miss so much Remind me, baby, remind me.

Carrie has never been on a "sexual" song before. I know everyone is predicting this to be a hit... But I'm feeling this could be a career defining hit for both Brad and Carrie. I can't wait to hear it!

Carrie's first double cowrite. SO PROUD OF HER. Now to see if it's good. This is a test to see how good of a songwriter she really is.

If by double co-write you mean only 2 writers (with Carrie being one of them, obviously), wasn't "Oklahoma Wind" written only by Carrie and Bill Anderson? Yesssss. Carrie is gettin' se xxxual. LMAO.

Brian Mansfield had this to add about 'Remind Me' in the comments section over at Idol Chatter: I've only had a chance to listen to it once, but it sounded pretty steamy. If your average power-ballad love song was a kiss, this one would slip you a little tongue. If by double co-write you mean only 2 writers (with Carrie being one of them, obviously), wasn't "Oklahoma Wind" written only by Carrie and Bill Anderson? 'Oklahoma Wind' was written with Bill Anderson & Jon Randall.
