Which season is truly the most talented group ever on 'Idol'? Seacrest says talent is best every year, but it's not. Here's how we rank them: 2. Season four Similar to the first season, this produced one superstar in Carrie Underwood and not much else. That superstar, however, has been the best thing that has ever happened to the show, as Underwood always seems ready to come back when called upon to perform. Runner-up Bo Bice has enjoyed some success and is now seen on TV promoting Moe's Southwestern Grill, and Constantine Maroulis is big on Broadway. Both benefited from the decision that season to increase the age limit for auditioners to 28, designed expressly to increase the talent base. The "what-might-have-been" here is Mario Vasquez, who dropped out between the semifinals and the finals and is a good test case that regardless of what singers may feel about the contract the winner has to sign, it beats the alternative of trying to do it yourself. today.msnbc.msn.com/id/42310730/ns/today-entertainment/

Love that we're getting so many new songs this year. Even if the album doesn't come out till 2012, which I think don't think will happen, we're still getting 3 new duets from her in an 'off-year'.
Hope that more songtitles will show up soon, very interesting to see who she writes with seeing the new song titles.

I love how this duet is coming right in time for the initial CMA voting period. There is no doubt in my mind that "Remind Me" will score some nominations, but could it possibly earn Carrie her overdue Entertainer of the Year slot? The hype over the single alone could sneak her in. Along with the "backlash" last year.... and all that... I'd love to see Carrie get nominated in an "off year" having had no tour and no solo single releases during the later half of the eligibility period. It would be sort of, I don't even know, interesting? I'd just love to see the reaction to that!
Here's to hoping!
I'm saying this before I even hear the single... Jumping the gun a little? I think YES! Hahaha

I just hope the duet isn't a let down. I mean I am sure it will be incredible! But It is really getting hyped up! :) But I usually Love any song with Carrie's voice in it, so I'm sure I'll love it! And the fact that Brad said he added it near the ending process of the album makes me even more excited. It really must be special if he felt that it needed to be on the album for the album to be "complete." Plus he pushed it back a month because of it.

My thoughts exactly, but judging from everything we have read, it's going to be hard to be disappointed with this duet. Besides everything you have stated, Brian called it "steamy." Jimmy Carter, who is not the biggest fan of Carrie, said it would be one of the biggest songs of 2011. Also, I LOVE the lyrics to the chorus! Unless the verses are terrible, I don't see how I won't love the lyrics to this song. And, of course, it's Carrie singing. I'm not the biggest fan of Brad's voice, but he is much better at ballads. Now, if it were Chris Young and Carrie singing this song.........WHOA!! But, Brad had a hand in writing the song, and he asked Carrie to join him on the song, so no complaints.

LMAO By the way it probably doesnt mean anything but the label just added SLT to her Myspace page hmmmmmm.....That's definitely interesting, but I don't think it has any meaning. The label surely recognizes the fact that SLT is #39 on Billboard Country Songs this week, and that came purely from requesting and pushing by the fans. The power of the Carrie Army :) Anyways, "Remind Me" needs to be released now so I don't die of Carrie deprivation. And anxiety. And excitement. And a bunch of other emotions that are wrapped in a ball inside of me because of this duet.

Carrie's done. Pretty good interview where Carrie seemed pretty comfortable. Not much new info though. The female interviewer seemed starstruck and people were screaming for Carrie.

I've only had a chance to listen to it once, but it sounded pretty steamy. If your average power-ballad love song was a kiss, this one would slip you a little tongue. I need to have sex to hear this. :o

Soul Surfer's professional reviews so far only mention Carrie's big screen debut but not her acting. Hollywood Reporter also said that her character is superfluos... www.rottentomatoes.com/m/soul_surfer

That's fine with me. Better to not be mentioned than to stink so much that reviewers have to point out how much you stink. I've seen that happen a lot of times before with singers-turned-actors.

That's fine with me. Better to not be mentioned than to stink so much that reviewers have to point out how much you stink. I've seen that happen a lot of times before with singers-turned-actors. I see it exactly the same way. "Professional" critics are quick to judge the quality of big screen acting of non-actors, especially celebrities who venturing into acting from another field (music, television hosts, television personalities, even television actors). Reviewers were quick to judge Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Justin Timberlake, etc. for their first major film debut. Carrie's character as a youth group leader is clearly not as the role of heroine, but rather as one of the supporting actors, therefore I am not surprised that the Hollywood Reporter referred to her as "superfluous". Honestly, I am rather excited to Carrie all over my television next week. Admittedly, I am a tad anxious and nervous as more reviews trickle in and without a doubt, will be reading every last one of them, lol. I am pleased Carrie debuted in the way she did, rather than as a lead character such as Christina Aguilera did, since there is less pressure on her acting quality, thereby giving her a stronger chance to build confidence in an area that she is not as familiar with as singing/music.

I'm not sure if this is notable or anything but for whatever reason Hillary Lindsey recently registered 'I Hope I Never Get Used To You', a co-write with Carrie and Steve McEwan, over at ASCAP. It initially surfaced during the Carnival Ride era as 'Never Get Used To You'. Maybe someone else is recording it soon? Or maybe Carrie is considering it for the next album? IDK, IDK. Here's the Lauren/Scotty performance of ITYS: ...I didn't like that at all. Let's revisit this piece of perfection:

I just finish watching American Idol tonight and Carrie and Randy's I Told You So was mention, Lauren and Scott sang it and they were great but I put Carrie's and Randy's verison first. I really think Lauren has an amazing voice, especially when considering her age. That being said, what makes Carrie's rendition so special for me is the little delicate touches that she crafts with her voice. For example (see video below), the baby-soft melisma of "love you" at 0:17 and "all my time" at 0:34 adds a soft, emotional touch. When she transitions from big chest belting voice to a softer, low head voice at 1:20 "asking me to take you in", she really "takes me in" to those lyrics. Carrie's voice has improved with time because she has learned to utilize different parts of her voice for conveying different messages, something Lauren, a mere kid, will no doubt improve also with time. For reference, Carrie's duet with Randy 'I Told You So', is a masterclass performance to me: It's little vocal nuances like these superimposed with required top-notch vocal facet that separates Carrie from the other great vocalists today.

Lauren is really, really good. They're be silly not to give her a record deal if she doesn't win (I actually think Scotty will take the crown). But for her -- she's the perfect age, she's got the voice, the look, etc.
