Wasn't Carrie supposed to win some Humanitarian award?? Home Depot doesn't seem to sponsor the ACMs anymore and they were the ones who rewarded that so I think that award is retired.

Kind of sad that Carrie got zero industry recognition for her amazing year in 2010, but award shows can't take away from that success.
Plus, that incredible performance tonight was more than enough to satisfy me.
Ready to move on to the next era!

Where's Vinman with a cap when you need him? I can't wait to get Steven/Carrie on my Ipod ASAP!

Gah. I still can't get over tonight's performance. I'm glad the masses got to see her in that light. Carrie just blogged. It's only two words yet incredibly adorable.

DANG! That performance was beyond amazing. She looked HOT! And she sounded amazing.
She has amazing stage presence now that she never had before. That was one of the most flawless performances I have ever seen from anyone.

It was a pretty good performance but with all the talk on my timeline and after reading the posts in the thread I thought I'd be awestruck. Congrats to her for stealing the show.

This was an amazing thing to experience live.
High points: -Obviously the Carrie/Steven duet stole the whole damn show. Why they had them perform in the first hour was stupid because after that, the show hit its peak. I've never been in such an amazing moment in my life, and that's not just because I'm a fan. You all don't even realize how INSANE that arena was. I thought people were going to pass out. Every single person was leaping and jumping like it was the end of the world. There was SO MUCH SCREAMING of "I LOVE CARRIE!" (Okay, that last one was just me...) But this performance was spectacular. -Brad Paisley and Alabama's introduction was fantastic. -Sara Evans' performance was very well done. It's so nice to see this girl back on these shows! :) -Taylor Swift's "Mean". You know what -- I think I owe this girl a big apology. She's proven that she's not just a one-trick pony of a songwriter. This song was really well received, and she's really growing on me. :) Her performance was a standout. -Rihanna & Jennifer Nettles -- C'mon. This collaboration was great, IMO. I wasn't at the Mandalay Bay, so I can't say I was there live, per se. However, from what I saw of it, I loved it. :)

Finally Carrie wears some shoes with chunky heels for an awards show performance so she can move around decently. I've been wanting her to ditch the skinny heels forever. She sounded at the top of her game and looked gorgeous as usual. Hahaha at all the times Steven tried to kiss her, can't blame a guy for trying. They definitely rocked the house.

Carrie killed it. It's sad that the ACMs peaked in the first 30 minutes.

Carrie really did own the stage last night. Wow. Loved it. I also loved see the audience members singing along to "Undo It," including Lady A's Hilary. Who was the guy next to her grooving along?
USA Today gave it 3/4 stars: (* * *) Carrie Underwoodand Steven Tyler, Undo It/Walk This Way The former American Idolchamp brought out one of the show's new judges for a rocked-up rendition of her recent No. 1 hit, which segued into Aerosmith's Walk This Way. But when Tyler sang, "So I gave her just a little kiss — like this," she pulled away at the last second and grinned.

I think Carrie and Steven should have definitely closed the show. It was the highlight of the night, and now that I think of it, the least they could have done for Carrie after not giving her an EOTY nom, would have been to let her close the show.

Isn't EOTY award always the last thing before the show ends though?

Besides Paisley's and Travis' albums, Carrie is also going to be on Tony Bennett's "Duets II," which will be in stores this August.

When you have an artist's performance being the hot topic of any awards show and dominating the news, it doesn't matter what awards were handed out. That artist is the winner. Carrie is the winner. I'm proud to be a Carrie fan.

ACMs Girls Night Out special is taping later tonight. Here's some tidbits from a celebrity interviewer's blog: Most of my duties have been preparing for the show they’re taping tomorrow, “Girls’ Night Out,” which will be broadcast on April 22nd on CBS. The reason I’ve been so busy is we keep changing things on the show to make them better, right up until the last possible minute. Mostly we’ve been improving the tribute packages, which are a glimpse into the early lives of our honorees. I’ve been asked to find photos of their hometowns, their families, and their early performances. Some of my favorite material came from Carrie Underwood’s management, who sent us footage of Carrie performing in a school assembly and even on a Tulsa Oklahoma TV station when she was in the seventh grade. Turns out she was a seasoned performer even then!
My favorite moments so far occurred at the rehearsals for the “Girls’ Night Out” show. As always on the second show, the house band sets up in a small room and the artists drop by to work on their songs. The great John Fogerty is performing two songs, including a duet with Wynonna Judd on one of his Creedence classics. Yesterday, John spent some time rehearsing his performance of a Judds song, followed by a run-through of “Proud Mary.” First the band did it like the original record, which sounded great. But then John announced that was the first time he’d played it that way in 40 years and that he’d taken a tip from the Tina Turner version and sped it up a bit, so they played it that way and that’s the way you’ll hear it on the show. And did I mention that John spoke to me? Sure, it was only to thank me when I got him a bottle of water, but still! Just observing him, you could see he was the nicest, most humble rock star you would ever want to meet.
Enjoy the show! Vince will be performing 'Jesus Take The Wheel': Ashley Monroe tweeted a pic of the line-up:
