For whatever reason, I've never seen this mini-edition of Top Pop Singles appears on the Record Research site, or the mailer.

• Beyonce’s 2003 hit “Crazy in Love” spent 24 weeks in the Top 40 and eight of them in the #1 spot. • Billy Idol has had a total of nine Top 40 hits over his career, the last being “Cradle of Love” in 1990. • Of Madonna’s twelve #1 hits, her 1994 single “Take a Bow” held the spot the longest, for seven weeks—one week longer than her 1984 smash “Like a Virgin.” • Marvin Gaye’s song “Sexual Healing” spent 15 weeks at #3 in 1982, while the same song was #1 on the R&B chart for 10 weeks. • Male vocal group Boyz II Men had three of the biggest chart hits of all time during the 1990s. • The Grateful Dead finally enjoyed a Top 10 single in 1987 after 20 years of touring. • Janet Jackson has scored an impressive 39 Top 40 hits—one more than her megastar brother Michael!

Doesn't Janet also have more Top 10s than Michael?

Sexual Healing did indeed get to #3 but not for 15 weeks
Its chart run was 21 weeks in total

Michael Jackson had 28 top 10s on the Hot 100; Janet has had 27 (28 if you count "Diamonds," but she was not credited on the single in its original chart run).

Yes that is what I have too
Michael Jackson has 28 Janet Jackson has 27
However: State of the World would have been top 10 had it been released As mentioned, Diamonds was listed as a Herb Alpert song in its initial run
Add those two in and you have 29

Well, yeah, but other acts also would have additional top 10s if certain tracks were released (Mariah Carey had a few of those), or were charted properly (i.e. Madonna's "Into the Groove," which based on available airplay and sales data, may have been a No. 1 contender).
Joel Whitburn's books, are great, but I don't agree with counting airplay-chart-only hits with Hot 100 hits- the record label had the option of releasing particular singles, after all.

The .biz archives now lists Diamonds btw as 'Herb Alpert featuring Janet Jackson'
But anyway, airplay is all you have for these titles.
Don't Speak was #1 for 16 weeks Iris was #1 for 18 weeks
Both of those were #1 hits, the lack of a single means one didn't chart and the other hit #9
The airplay results are more accurate in this case than going with the Hot 100 results, so I tend to agree with the listing because that is all we have.
Disclaimer: By "single" in this context, I mean a physical release to a record store.
On the other hand, Joel Whitburn doesn't always go to alternate charts because quirky rules prevent hits from charting
The peak position of the Michael Jackson 'Number Ones' album is listed as #13 and not #1 in his book
