I think the first three are in a whole other league than the rest, tbh. I'd like to see the rest of the album have a similar sound to WDKY and Dark Side, that's what I've wanted from the start. I will cry if Dark Side isn't on the album, it would be a real shame to see it go to waste.

Not counting D + D = You because I refuse to believe Kelly would record something that mediocre at this stage in her career. :)
The other five are all great. BYOH reminds me a lot of "Don't You Remember." Definitely one of my favorite KC ballads ever. DS is amazeballs as well. The verses give me "The One That Got Away" vibes.
This is certainly shaping up to be one of her best albums.

Her vocals sound stronger on these leaks than on any of her other recorded songs. I'm so happy that she opted out on going with Dr. Luke who is notorious for auto-tuning and that these producers are bringing out the range, power, beautiful tone, and dynamic texture of Kelly's voice. I'm feeling pretty confident that this album is going to be better than her last one.

Both new leaks are great. Do we know who produced Dark Side? The production is PERFECT. I always wanted Kelly to have something like that. It reminds me of Firework. 1. Let Me Down 2. Ooh more leaks. So, I stumbled upon "What Doesn't Kill You" and "I Forgive You" in 320 kbps. I can definitely detect a big difference in quality compared to the 128 kbps ones I had before. It's kinda ironic that WDKY has the weakest bridge. A strong, booming bridge with an inhumane KC high note would've made it much better.

Finally found Dark Side. Really like it a lot. I do think there is perhaps too much of a difference in the verses and chorus. It kind of shocked me at first but I bet after a few listens I won't even remember why I thought that. Her voice is just sick!
I hear the similarities to Archies song. It is REALLY similar at first but I think the choruses are about as different as they could be. After Halo/AG I want Kelly to stay far far away from even coming close to another song, the media would be so ready to jump all over it.

I woke up at least eight hours after it was announced these two songs had leaked and I found them both within five minutes (and without having to PM anyone). This confirms to me four things: a) RCA, you are truly one big FAIL, I shouldn't have been able to find a trace of anything this late. b) just one more reason why almost to people who openly beg for links annoy the s*** out of me: on top of blatantly breaking board rules, you didn't even really try to find them on your own. Seriously, it was way too easy to find them. You shouldn't have to ask for anything at this point (oddly it's actually easier to find Kelly stuff some hours after the leaks have happened...did I mention RCA = FAIL?) c) I will cry if Dark Side isn't on the album |

It is easier to find links AFTER because they begin multiplying like cock roaches. People pass them to one person who passes it to 5 people and each of them to 5 people, so on and so forth. It is actually logical that 8 hours later it would be much easier to find a leak than it would be to find it right after it leaked. RCA would have to stop it immediately but all it takes is for 1 person to have gotten the song and the process can start all over again at any time.
As an example, I could not find Dark Side today but tonight I get back online and found it within 5 seconds doing the SAME searches I was doing before.

The Archie song - I can hear the similarity in the beginning but I don't think it's enough for anyone to call out. They start out with the opening piano chords but once the melody of the verses come in they go in different directions. Dark Side has a sort of...I don't know how to explain it but it does have a, well, mildly dark or mysterious tone to it that distinguishes it from the more straightforward and brighter tone of Falling Stars.
This is what I love about Dark Side, actually; the verses nail the title of the song by hinting at the title of the song, but when it gets to the hook and the bridge the tone opens up as if to mirror the lyrics..."yeah there is a dark side but there's also a light side that will make it worth it if you stick around." Some RCA intern needs to be online doing those same searches every five minutes and having stuff pulled. It's one thing when I'm already up and online and consistently hunting till I find something, but I should not be beating them to the punch at 2 or 3 in the morning when word of the leak was first mentioned at ~6 or 7 yesterday evening. When Kelly's stuff finally starts getting pulled it's usually after everyone in the fanbase has heard it, graded it, declared that it's not good enough for a first single, and already named the next two song titles that are probably going to be leaked next. With these Kelly song leaks, I'm not having to hit several dead links before getting to one that works; the links are out there and easy to find with a pretty straightforward search. But there also aren't a huge amount of them (yet) - they aren't really multiplying like cockroaches (mainly b/c Kelly fans have a, ah, I'll just say we have certain way of acting about leaks, so they eventually get spread within the fanbase but we never get around to spreading the word outside of ourselves). So it's not like it's this impossible task, like it would be if it were a full album leak. But instead they are still sitting there, another big leak explosion waiting to happen if more people find out about them. Honestly LMD should not have had the time and opportunity to explode the way it did, though in the long run I think it was for the best because at least it has built some buzz for her. And as has been mentioned before it's not just that Kelly has leaks, it's that she has so many of them that makes it obvious that there's a serious problem. I can't think of any singer that has ever had this many demo, near-finished, and finished songs from one project leak periodically before the album has even come out. I can't hold the obvious demos against RCA but the finished stuff I have to think RCA would have, so why don't they have it under tighter security? At worst I have seen other artists have a few songs leak, and then albums usually leak 2-3 weeks before release. Maybe it's because these are "just" demos or individual songs, rather than a complete album, that the label doesn't care. Thing is though, there are so many individual songs we're getting now, and they are so much closer to finished than the stuff that was hacked last year, that it's feeling like we might as well be getting the whole album. |

I finally have listened to What Doesn't Kill You. I've read comparisons to Lady Gaga, a more rock version of Kesha, Fighter(assuming the Christina Aguilera song, but I could be wrong), and Natasha Bedingfield. Oddly I don't feel it's all that similar to any of them.
