^ 4 studio duets ...that we know about though only one of them was for her album. Which ones are they? I only know of Reba and Jason Aldean. I don't count any that haven't been released.

Oh and...Kelly is not a hit maker. Let's calm ourselves a little before making such accusations. Oh? She was just on a country smash and crossover hit, and her underperformance of a last album still yielded three top-ten hits. She didn't have a Katy Perry era last time, but if that's the criteria for a hit maker, then Katy is the only one.

She's only done two duets. Oh and...Kelly is not a hit maker. Let's calm ourselves a little before making such accusations. What you smokin'? The two duets Kelly did were both huge smash hits. Especially after DYWS, why do you think other artists want to have her duet with them? Answer: Because they know it could potentially help their careers and bank accounts big time. Self-interest, baby, self-interest. From birth to death, all human beings act in their own self-interest first, last and always.

Kelly is not a hit maker. I think there have been plenty of potential hits that haven't been released so I'd consider her one. Anyways, I'm okay with her doing one duet per year, preferably no more than that. I'd prefer it in different genres too. On the Express I had read that RCA may be scrapping some of the leaks and replacing them with older songs. I hope this is just a rumor. I wouldn't be sure whether to laugh or cry if this turned out to be true.

Her duets have smashed. I thought we were talking about all of the material she's released so far. Demi has wanted to duet with Kelly even before Reba did BOY so...I doubt she's all about self-interest.

Besides, Demi said a long time ago that Kelly was her favorite singer ever. Who wouldn't want to duet and be friends with your idol? Kelly wanted that with Reba, and she got it, and it wasn't about self-interest, it was all about admiration. Why can't Kelly continue that chain with a talented girl, like Demi, who has expressed her admiration for a long time?

^^ 100% agree. I believe Demi called Kelly her "Reba", meaning Kelly is an idol to Demi as Reba is an idol to Kelly.

So far I have abstained from listening to BYOH and IWICBLI. I think I heard the live version of IWICBLI but I will try to stay away from the studio. Of course, because I don't listen to them they will surely not be on the album and then I wont be able to find them. Someone hang on to them so I can beg for them after the album release, haha

A hit-maker would've had a hit off of any album they release...and let's just take a moment to remember, the under-appreciated, My December. I see Fading ignored my post. I actually didn't see it. :o

I've grown to really love "Breaking You're Own Heart." Her voice on that track is AMAZING. The song has grown to be one of my favorite Kelly ballads ever.
Both IWICBLI and DBAGAI are decent (about on the same level as "Call Me" for me). I'm still having trouble getting behind the "don't be a girl about it" lyrics.

Obviously, I'm going to get hated for this, but at this point, the most logical thing to do would be to push the album back to spring and have Kelly record more (radio friendly) songs. The leaks are a mess. The fact that the first single isn't even out and yet half of the record is already out is REALLY discouraging. Also, some of these are okay but I'm not sure how they're planning on selling this project without any major hits.

But we don't know if any of these were ever going to be on the album. For all we know she could have 12 other songs picked for the album.

These are completely mastered, and most of the links are being taken down. RCA wouldn't bother (just like they didn't with the demos) if these songs weren't on her record. They were also on the promo CD, you don't put out songs on a promo CD and send them to media outlets if you don't plan on putting them on your record.

We don't know if the promo cd thing was ever true (I could be wrong, but that was just something someone mentioned).

I think the leaks are fresh, fun material that would--in a variety of combinations--work for a successful, current album. They aren't a mess. Blanket, overused adjectives make for a weak argument for pushing the album back. Considering we still know nothing about what Kelly's recording process has been for the last two years (or two weeks), this post is premature and ignorant at best.

Also, the leaks don't sound mastered at all. I don't know why you'd assume they're leaked tracks from the album ???
And Sober's right, the promo CD thing was just a rumor.

I have to say, I think people are exaggerating what effect the leaks will have on this album. These songs leaking is not a good enough reason to push the album back. "Let Me Down" got the most exposure, which I would write off as just good buzz. As far as the other leaks go, how many people do you think will hear them? I know we all love Kelly and keep up with the latest on her, but there are a whole lot of people that won't even think about her until her lead single hits radio.
Every album leaks before the release date. Yes, this is far earlier than most of them. But my point is, people can download and have the songs from an album before it is ever released, period. IMO, the length of time doesn't make it any more likely that they won't purchase than if it were a month, two weeks, or a week before.

Considering we still know nothing about what Kelly's recording process has been for the last two years (or two weeks), this post is premature and ignorant at best. I didn't say the songs were a mess, I said the fact that they're leaking is. I like most of them actually. I could expand my point as to why I think this record should be pushed back if you'd like but I doubt you'd agree then either. Yes, you're right, it might be "premature" to decide whether or not the record should come out, but again, the fact that these songs are completely mastered and the links are being taken down and they were put on the Promo CD RCA sent out to media outlets tells you they are indeed on the record. As for the songs being "fun," sure they are, but personally, I don't hear any hooks stuck in my head based on a first listen and quite frankly, Kelly needs a big hit because regardless of what us Kelly fans like to believe when we get a random Google notification about a Kelly article being posted on a random blog, the general consensus seems to be that most people don't even know (or seem to care?) that Kelly has an album coming out and that's partly because the build up for it has been non-existent and there really is not that much of a buzz. These are just my thoughts and I respect if you don't agree with me, but I honestly think RCA and most importantly her management are going to need to pull out all the stops for this record if they want for this project to be a success, and unfortunately, I highly doubt her management is going to do that good of a job. Just my two cents. BTW, when did Kelly state she was still recording? The last thing we heard was that she was on vacation and the last thing we heard FROM Kelly herself was that the album was done, and has been done, for quite some time now, so unless you are implying she's a liar, I say we know quite a bit about how the recording process for her record has been executed as of this year.

Again...the PROMO CD was never confirmed.
Plus we don't know if RCA made her record more..just because she said she was finished doesn't mean RCA couldn't make her go back and record more.

Again...the PROMO CD was never confirmed. Not to mention, Let Me Down, Tell Me A Lie, YBYOH & D+D have been out since at least April. That's when we began getting the clips of those. For all we know, RCA already knew these songs were out there and already planned for them leaking to the public.

Wait, why would RCA want for these songs to be leaked to the public. That makes no sense. A major record label isn't going to willingly upload several songs on the internet for them to be downloaded for free, especially when they're being taken down right away.

I meant, RCA probably had a plan in place just in case, the songs were leaked to the public. The tracks have been circulating since April, probably before that. It wasn't until this past week that they leaked on a larger scale.

Also, you seem to be under the impression that these are the finished songs that would be available for purchase as is, and most don't think that's the case.
