Therefore, it makes more sense to keep it for later rather than either not releasing it or releasing as the fifth single. I don't think it's illegal so I don't see a problem with doing it that way.

RCA saw her tweet about "August" and felt like annoying everyone more, and changed the schedule for September.

They made her tweet about her "calendar mistake" as an excuse. Duh.

I share your pessimism. I don't want to get excited about a Kelly tweet. Last time that happened, we wound up having to wait almost a year for it to come true. I'll get excited once RCA confirms.

I think what is confusing me a little bit is that she said it still might be late August. So how does that = a calendar mess-up? That sounds more like the label yanking her chain again with some "might be this date, might be that one" bull.

The only other explanation I can think of is that RCA e-mailed her the news, she glanced at whatever calendar or whatever was in the e-mail, and got the last week of August mixed up with the first week of September....maybe they sent her a message like "single in 43 days" (which would put it at Sept. 2, by the way) and she calculated the date wrong in her head. I can live with that idea.

Whatever the real story is behind the mix up, it still means that the album is still scheduled for release this year and has not been affected by the leaks. She hasn't done any new recording and nothing seems to have changed, I'm really happy to see that. That was the worst part of those songs leaking for me, the uncertainty over not knowing what would happen to the album as a result of the leaks.

I'm expecting the same setlist she does at the corporate events (coca cola, microsoft) plus the lead single, and that's it... maybe even the lead single instead of seven nation army, but I doubt she's going to showcase the album, were the event closer to the album release (november) she could add more new songs, but that's not the case

I actually think the calendar thing might have something to do with the VMAs. RCA could have said they were sending the song to radio a week (or some amount of time) after she performs at the VMAs, so she could have just assumed that meant late August and then actually looked? idek.

My hope at this point is the album is released near black Friday. That's the one advantage I can see for the single not coming out until September. Other than that this has been a complete mess and I'm not getting my hopes up until something is official.

I see another advantage of a later album release. If the actual album is anything like the recent leaks (Dark Side, Let Me Down, What Doesn't Kill You) this album is going to be terrific. Hope the album does get a Black Friday release and while that is definitely an advantage, I see a bigger advantage in that it will not have to compete with Adele for the upcoming Grammys. IMO Adele is going to sweep the Grammys and no one can stop her. A November release will position Kelly nicely for Grammys the next year.

Other than stanning and past history, I haven't heard anything that makes me think Carrie will actually get her album out this year. But I haven't followed her pre-eras before so who knows how quickly she can put an album together.
