The first single from John Legend's sophomore album entitled "Once Again" has surfaced. Evoking a very Stevie Wonder feel, Legend continues as a smooth, soul balladeer on this one.
On the chorus, Legend sings, "Save room for my love/ Save room for the moment to be with me/ Save room for my love/ Save a little/ Save a little for me."
Legend is truly a stand-out artist and this new single shows the same growth and maturity as did "Ordinary People." In my opinion, this is a top-notch song and is unlike anything on the radio today. If this song is any indication of the material on this upcoming album, this will put Legend another step closer to living up to his name.
"Once Again" hits stores sometime this fall.

I wonder how this sounds. Where can we hear this? However it sounds, I'm sure it sounds better than most of what's being released by other R&B male artists at this point. The title seems kinda unique.

It's okay, it could grow on me. Both "Ordinary People" and "Number One" were so underrated radio wise. I still love these two songs.

Wow. I like this...but does it sound too pop to anyone else? It's very smooth and old-school, and I feel like I get the vibe they're going for...but the instrumentation sounds a little too obtrusive and the vocal a little too smooth. I don't think this is really like much that gets play on Urban AC and Urban (though I hope it'll get play there), but it would fit AC and even AAA playlists very well, in my view.
I think I'm really going to like hearing Legend sing this one live. Looking forward to the full record.

I gotta say again that I'm feeling this one. It has a retro, 70s feel to it, but because it's a slow burner, it's not annoying. I also like John's new vocal approach/style where he sings in a very edge-of-his-voice, voice quavering kind of way. I wonder how radio will respond to this though because they definitely need to save room for this 1.

Has an indie feel to it. I really like it. Hope he has more of this on his next record.

Great alternative feel. I think what stands out for the larger part of the song is his vocal performance, which I dig. I'm not sure exactly how Mainstream Urban is going to respond to this but I do hope that Hot AC will take a chance on this like they did with Corraine ("Put Your Records On").

Once again, one of the best songs released these past few months. I wish that radio would start playing this.
