No Tim on this album, which is a good thing. I love this album, every song. I wish I had sprung for the deluxe in the store because I wound up paying for all the bonus tracks on ITUNES. LOVE them.

"BUCKET LIST" and "HIGH LIFE" could really save this record in the charts. If only the record label was interested in trying to avoid this album from tanking miserably...

Is Parking Lot doing anything on the radio? It so should've been the 1st single.

Digging the ballads. "End of The World", "Miracles" and "Spirit Indestructible" are my favorites. "Waiting for the Night" is pretty good too.

I don't think the singles released were bad, but rather uneventful. Promiscuous was crazy catchy and that was the biggest difference. Big Hoops is not catchy and really not a very good song, never should have opened this era. The title track should have come 1st. I think it could have made a much bigger splash than Big Hoops and could have put Parking Lot at a better place to smash as a 2nd single. Anyway, I do believe Big Hoops is the one to blame. Oh, and her vocal delivery is too lazy this time.

Nelly Furtado: After watching Twilight I'm convinced vampires are real I'm Like A Bird singer Nelly Furtado, 33, talks to Metro about her new album The Spirit Indestructible, Korean rappers and her theory that vampires are real. It’s been a while since your last English language album – were you nervous about coming back? A little bit but I used that nervous energy in the Latin music scene, which was soul-fulfilling and educational for me in terms of writing and performing in a foreign language. It worked my musical muscles. Being back in the market place reminds me of what an odd bird I am in the music scene. In what way are you odd?I just march to the beat of my own drum. The album has a high-octane energy I’m excited about but also a certain innocence because it took me a while outside the scene to connect with my own life – you have to connect with the audience and living a life that separates you from reality isn’t useful. Were you considering giving up pop? Music is such a personal expression for me, it’s the only thing I do well, and making a living from it still perplexes me. There are times I debate about going back to doing it as a hobby rather than a career. What aspects of the industry aren’t you happy with? When you’re on the horse, you often don’t have time to create music – there are constant deadlines you have to meet. In the time off, I created my own record company and I’ve signed and produced people. It’s really a time issue more than anything. I did things this year that reminded me of my other goals: working in Africa on charity projects and expanding my creative interests. The song High Life was inspired by an incident on your 2007 tour – what happened? I was 19 when I recorded Whoa, Nelly! so I’d been at it eight years when Loose came out. I was playing a role on stage for that album, which was fun but a bit exhausting. I went on stage and was so burned out I had a little emotional breakdown and cried my way through the first three songs. Not having my emotions in check on stage was frightening so I realised I needed a break. It’s about the experience of achieving the dream of what you thought a perfect life might be and then finding the reality is that true success is more about your own health. Was that the worst gig you’ve done? No, on my very first tour I was ill and had to keep going to the side of the stage to be sick. Did you have a nice time with the Native American dancers in your Big Hoops video? I’ve delved into so many native cultures since starting my career and this took the cake. Not only the hoop dancing but Native American flute playing and learning so many cool stories. One of the dancers, Tony, and his brothers are half-Apache, which is a really interesting culture. I grew up on Vancouver Island, which has a prominent first nations culture. It was nice being around that. They taught me how to do the eagle dance – where you make the wings using hoops. It’s quite addictive. What was the first song you wrote about? When I was 12, I wrote an R’n’B song about breaking up called Get Back Together – I hadn’t had a boyfriend at that point so I had no idea what I was talking about. It was super-trite. What’s the worst advice you’ve been given? I worked with a producer once who said: ‘You should get a boob job – you’d be a knockout.’ Unfortunately he made good music so I couldn’t quit. It was completely out of context, this passing thought that just came out of his mouth. Riding in a hot air balloon is on your bucket list – have you done it yet? Not yet. I really want to. I’ve looked into it but I want the perfect ride at one of those hot air balloon festivals where you have hundreds in the air. You want to direct a film, too – what sort of thing? I was seriously thinking about going to film school. I tried to make a documentary about a band on my label but I never finished it. I’ve directed some of my videos, which has been fun. Documentaries interest me – they’re shorter than feature films which would be a bit presumptuous for me to attempt at this stage. Do you have any career regrets? I wish I’d made more albums. There’s so much more music I want to record – jazz, Brazilian, pop, Portuguese folk. I’m running out of time. Have you ever had a supernatural experience? No but I hope to have one. I saw all the Twilight movies and became obsessed with the idea vampires were real. I really liked the Jacob story but lost interest when his relationship with Bella was over. Who would you like to work with? There are some Korean rappers I’d like to work with – I love the sound of rap in Korean. The Spirit Indestructible is out now. K, finally made time for this album. I think it's quite good and it sucks that it'll flop. While Big Hoops wasn't the best choice for the lead single, I think people who actually know Nelly's music by now should know that she's not the most conventional or conforming singer for pop music. I think it's probably more of a coincidence that Loose came out and matched the definition of pop radio when it did. I'm also very much on board with Nelly and Darkchild together. I didn't care for the Remi tracks at all but all of the Darkchild songs are spot on. I'm used to Darkchild productions sounding really tightly packed and perfectly polished but on here they sound so open and loose. It's refreshing. I wrote my review for the album: www.themaxonline.net/2012/09/25/nelly-furtado-the-spirit-indestructible/

Nelly is one of the most creative and real artists out there. Seeing her flopping with what i believe is one of the the best albums of 2012, is absolutely shocking. I love her so much and will support her until i die. I'm very disappointed in her inability to do helpful promo though...

Nelly didn't make the Top 50 so she debuted with less than 6k. This is insane!

I hope the disastrous numbers wake Nelly up. Sure, it is a great album and that's all we should care about but 6 years is a bit too much. Even she admits it. :/

She has almost 3 million followers on Twitter. Even with no promotion, how could she only sell under 6k first week? Wow.

Avril Lavigne is "liked" by over 30 million people on Facebook, yet her last album only sold 1.3 million copies WW. Album sales and social media followers typically don't correlate. >6k is horrific.

#79 in the US with 5,731 sold. #18 in Canada.
This is just an absolute disaster...

Yikes. That's just awful. TSI is an amazing record, it doesn't deserve THIS. It's one of the very few albums I've bothered to purchase this year. And to think she was on top on a worldwide level just 5-6 years ago...

To be fair, it flopping THIS bad is probably best for her, general public won't know about it or will remember it. So hopefully she can recover if she goes back to the drawing board.

I enjoy it tremendously and would rank it right after Loose, if not slightly above it, so as far as I'm concerned, I'm pleased.
